it's kind of crazy climate change has occurred at such a remarkable pace that I and everyone else around my age can remember a completely different climate in our childhoods. I truly watched winter gradually disappear in my life.
#it’s also crazy to me that after so long of not experiencing something that we just gradually forget that it used to be like that#like having to keep the windows rolled up on a long drive home at night bc of all the little gnats and other bugs#having to wash the car the morning after#prev->#winters are fucking me up#bring back the fucking snow days#<-#i was just talking to someone about this massive nor’easter we had Feb of ‘07#school was closed for a literal week#the wind was so strong that the snow went all the way up to the second floor of my childhood home#my sister and i tunneled through the snow in our back yard#i haven’t seen a winter like that since.#seventeen years#it’s been 17 years.
