"Hey, Bruce," You call, running after the scientist as he rushes through the med bay, tablet in hand. "Bruce!"
"What's up, Y/n?" He asks, turning to face you. "Are you gonna ask if they've reconnected to Loki's comms again?"
You let out a breath. "How did you guess?"
Loki - your extremely loving partner - was sent on a mission earlier today along with some of the other Avengers. It's often for you to continue work while he's away; a usually vain attempt to distract your mind from the dangers he could be in.
"Yes, they reconnected a few moments ago. He's alright," Bruce's reassuring smile lifts a huge weight off of your shoulders. "Nat said he-"
Bruce is cut off by an urgent-sounding noise on his tablet. He taps a few times before speaking.
"Hey Tony. Everything good?"
A crackly voice leaves the device. "No... Clint i- injured... retur- base."
"Got it. Get JARVIS to send me the details."
"Will do, over... ou-"
The call ends and Bruce visibly tenses. "Y/n. Go prepare and meet me and the team in Surgery 2."
Your relief instantly fades away to jittery nerves. You nod and turn around, quickly heading to grab your scrubs.
The pace around you picks up as word spreads over the incoming Avengers - no one is entirely sure how bad Clint is injured, but Bruce fears the worst. It doesn't take long for you to prepare - your hands are washed, scrubs, gloves and an apron are on, a disposable mask covers your nose and mouth and your hair is tied up tightly.
You file into the room with the rest of your team and begin setting up the equipment, readying supplies that will likely be needed. The thought of Loki niggles at the back of your mind. You're annoyed you can't meet him on the landing pad as usual. But it's not like him to just... disappear in the middle of a mission. Something must have happened...
You attempt to push the thoughts away. Your top priority now is to take care of Clint; to make sure he survives.
"The Avengers have landed in the Quinjet. Dr Banner says to be ready," JARVIS' mechanical voice rings down from the ceiling; you take a deep breath and ready yourself to do what you do best.
Bruce and the porter wheels a sedated Hawkeye into the bay; everyone gets to work straight away, Bruce overseeing the procedure.
It takes over two hours of surgery. Clint had lost a lot of blood from cuts and bruises everywhere. His worst injury, however, was a large piece of debris wedged in his lower abdomen - it took a lot of effort to remove the debris without causing any extra trauma. With some donor blood in his system and a few stitches here and there, the surgery was concluded and Clint was wheeled to a bay to come to his senses.
"Well done Y/n, you did good in there," Bruce congratulates, offering a smile. "Have the day off, you deserve it. I'll get one of the others to do the paperwork,"
You sigh quietly, happy to have some time off. "Thanks Banner. Don't overwork yourself! I'll come check on Clint later today."
"See you later,"
You turn and walk out of the Med Bay, the doors swinging to-and-fro before shutting behind you. Your gaze floats around the empty corridor, looking for a certain trickster God - sometimes he loiters outside the Med bay while you're in surgery, waiting to make sure you're okay. But today he's no where to be seen.
You shrug it off. He's just been on a mission and is probably exhausted, so he'll likely be in your room; or his, if he's not feeling the best. You take the lift up to the living quarters, skipping the common room and heading straight to your room.
"Hey Lo-" You push the door open, but your bed is empty; the bathroom door open. The room is eerily silent, and somewhat cold. Something feels... off.
You walk over to his room and knock twice - there's no answer. So, you walk right in. Loki never minds about you being in his personal space, so why would today be any different?
"Loki? You in here?" You hear a scuffle behind the closed bathroom door. "Loki?"
"Yep, I'm in the bathroom," He responds, his voice muffled by the separation between you both.
"Are you okay?"
"Fine!" He says much too quickly. Your eyes narrow with scepticism.
He bursts from the bathroom, the door crashing against the wall from his strength. He winces, a lopsided grin creeping on to his face.
"I'm fine," He repeats.
"For the God of lies, you really are a bad liar," You move forwards, rising onto your tip toes and gently angling his face down so you can analyse it.
"Uh, that's rude," He mumbles as you move his face this way and that, scrutinizing every part of his pale complexion for so much as a scratch.
Loki understands what you're doing almost instantly, his eyes rolling playfully.
"I'm fine, darling. I promise,"
You release his face and look down at your feet. "I'm sorry, I just... what happened on the mission? Bruce said your comms had been disconnected and... I panicked I guess."
Loki would typically tilt your head up with a singular finger and promise you that he was fine; that everything is okay. But today he doesn't. He stands silently - you can hardly bear it.
You hold your arms out and envelope him in a big hug. He doesn't return it straight away, what can only be described as a shudder flowing through every inch of his body.
Pulling away just as his arms try to snake around your waist. Your face contorts into one of worry, a small hint of hurt shining through your façade.
"Are you sure you're alright, my love?"
He nods somewhat sombrely.
"You know what?" He speaks. "I just remembered I have to feed the horses,"
Loki's eye twitches almost unnoticeably at his mistake - his lie is clearly one he's told many a time on Asgard.
"Feed the horses, huh?" You can't help but smirk slightly.
"It's a metaphor," He clarifies, pulling himself together and looking as if he hasn't just told the worst lie in the entire multiverse. "I have to go make sure Thor has enough pop tarts."
You hum in suspicious acknowledgement as Loki begins edging towards the door.
"Sure, sure."
"I'll see you later, darling." You're about to ask if you can come with him, but he's gone before a single syllable has left your lips.
The room around you feels much too quiet without him, and much too lonely too. What is up with him? Did he see something on the mission that bothered him? Or is he deliberately trying to hide something from you?
It's often that he's a terrible liar in front of you - despite his title - due to an unspoken rule he created, likely near the beginning of your relationship. It seems he vowed to himself never to lie to you, hence meaning that when he does lie they come out twisted and blocky, not smooth like his deceit towards anyone else.
You're unsure of what to do with yourself, but end up deciding to take a shower to ease away the stress of the day. By the time you've finished and spent time drying your hair, you're sure Loki will have finished... 'making sure Thor has enough pop tarts'.
~★~
"Hey Thor, Nat. You seen Loki?" You ask as you wander into the common area, feeling refreshed and a little less tense.
"No, Lady Y/n. I apologise, I last saw him as we departed the jet of the quills earlier today."
You share a look with Nat, trying your best not to laugh.
"Thor, it's a Quinjet." Nat emphasises, rolling her eyes and barely concealing a smirk.
"Yes, that's exactly what I said, Lady Natasha. The jet of the quills." Thor beams like a toddler with candy.
Nat audibly sighs. "Sorry Y/n, I haven't seen him either."
"No worries." You mumble, looking around the room rather hopelessly. "You don't happen to know what happened on the mission with his comms, do you?"
Nat purses her lips for a moment. "It was just a lost signal. I don't think anything actually happened."
"Huh. Okay," Your brows furrow. If nothing happened then why does it feel as if he's avoiding you? You must just be overthinking it. "Thanks."
"You alright?" She adds.
"Uh, yeah-" The lift pings and you hear the doors slide open.
"Ah, brother!" Thor exclaims. "Your lady was just asking after you,"
You turn to see Loki in the lift, an unreadable look on his face.
"There you are! Where have you been?" You ask, your face breaking out in a smile.
"Oh, me? I was just on the balcony enjoying some fresh air." He laughs nervously.
"You were?" Nat asks, shooting you a look. "I was up there a few minutes ago,"
"Oh you were? We must have missed each other." Again, he laughs.
You try to shake away the hurt and confused feeling that has seeped into your soul. "Well, no matter. I have the day off so we could spend it together if you like?" You ask him.
Loki sucks in a breath. "I really would love to, darling, but I have to go fill in my mission report. Maybe later?"
You feel your shoulders sag, but you don't let your expression show your disappointment.
"Talking of which, how did the mission go? You usually give me a very detailed analysis." You say, waltzing into the lift alongside him.
"JARVIS, take us to the living quarters," Loki says to the ceiling and watches as the lift doors close once more. "It went okay, average really." You nod as the doors slide away to reveal the corridor to your rooms. "I shall see you later then, my love,"
Loki takes your hand in his and brings it to his lips gently, then turns and exits the lift.
"Uh, not so fast, Romeo," You call after him, fed up of his anticks. He's clearly avoiding you - and something is clearly up.
You stride over to him; he takes a few steps back until he hits the wall.
"What is up with you?" You ask, jabbing a finger at his chest. He winces.
Your eyebrows twitch with confusion. Why did he wince?
"Nothing is up, my love." He elects not to say more, you guess because he's lying. Again.
Deciding to take matters into your own hands, you place your hand experimentally on his chest. He attempts to hide it, but he definitely flinches.
"Look, I must get on with my work. I promise I shall treat you to dinner tomorrow when it's all done," He grins and slips from your grasp, sauntering into his room.
"Nope," You say defiantly, following him. "You're going to explain to me why you're avoiding me. And I'm not leaving until you do."
"Avoiding you?" The door clicks shut behind you. "Y/n, darling. Don't be so silly."
"Are you calling me crazy now-" You cut off, catching a glimmer of crimson in the sink through the open bathroom door.
"Of course I'm not call-" Loki also stops, noticing what you're making a run for.
"What is this?!" You ask, holding up the bloody rag you found in the sink.
Loki swallows, biting nervously at his lower lip.
"I assure you, it's nothing."
"Don't play this game with me, Loki. What's going on?"
He sighs dramatically. "I merely gained a scratch while on the mission,"
"A scratch? Show me then,"
"I really don't think that's nec-"
"Show me," You interrupt, your tone harsh.
Loki gives in, wincing as he pulls off his shirt. Beneath lies a myriad of scuffs and scratches, some deep enough to still be oozing blood, others just red and angry. You move forwards, fingertips ghosting over the worst gashes as your face betrays your emotions.
Looking up into his eyes, you notice the spark of guilt dancing around - yet you ignore it.
"Why didn't you tell me!? Gods, Loki, this could get infected... look how much dirt there is!" Huffing, you point to the bed. "Lie down."
"I'm sorry, Y/n. I just didn't want you to worry. You worry enough as it is." You ignore his comment, filling up a bowl with warm water and finding a fresh cloth. You bring it into the bedroom and place it on the bed next to him, dipping in the cloth and wringing it out.
"This might hurt," You murmur, gently dabbing at the wounds. Loki's muscles flex, his jaw setting with pain as you clear up the grit and blood.
"The comms cut because of this," Loki starts, speaking as if he owes you the explanation. "There were too many on me and they knocked me to the floor. I skidded and somehow broke the device. I had to fix it with my magic, but it took a while because I had to rid myself of those imbeciles,"
You don't respond straight away, continuing to clean him up.
"And how did no one notice during the subsequent medical exam? Or did you somehow manage to dodge it?"
He chuckles softly. "You know me too well. It was actually very easy to dodge it without you around. Speaking of, how did Clint's surgery go?"
You yawn, tiredness from the day creeping behind your eyes and into your mind.
"It went fine. He's in recovery now and will be on bed rest for the next day or so,"
The cuts are all clean now; you place the rag in the now bloody water and grab a medical kit to place strips over the worst gashes.
"You really are amazing," Loki murmurs, more to himself than you.
You can't help smiling. "And you would be amazing if you didn't hide your injuries from me,"
"I'm sorry my love," He replies.
Now finished with your job, you lean over and press a gentle kiss against his lips.
"You're forgiven," You get up and begin putting everything away, flashing a smirk in his direction. "Although I do still expect that dinner tomorrow night,"
"I wouldn't dare miss it." He grins.

Come Home - Part 1
A/N - Hello :D I'm sorry for my recent inactivity! Life has just got in the way and I've had literally no free time. I've done a part 2 for this because I just really wanted to do a happy ending lol. I'm hoping it's alright - I'm not sure if I like it but I think it's a good thing for me to get back into writing. Anyway, I'm hoping to be posting more frequently now! Thank you for reading :)

Loki stares at the letter in his shaking hands, the ink slightly smudged in places from his tears - and what looks to be dried tears from someone else. You.
It makes sense now; why you disappeared, why you cut all contact with him. And yet, simultaneously, it makes no sense at all.
There are too many blank spaces in the story, each word sounding too devoid of emotion in his head. Whether that's because of his feelings intertwining with the message or because you're not yourself, he's unsure.
He wants to scream; let every emotion out. But his body won't let him. It feels as if he's caged; trapped behind bars of broken love.
It's then that Loki finally snaps, anger and determination flooding his veins. He's been looking for you for months, but now he's going to find you. He couldn't care less about being 'safe'; he just wishes to be with you. Hel, he would happily walk through the middle of a battlefield if it meant you'd be on the other side. Arrows would pierce through his skin, blades would slice open wounds, blood would run down his body in waterfalls; but he'd get to you.
All he wants is you. The one person who lifted him out of the dark and showed him the light.
Now it seems he must return the favour.
He runs from the house, your slightly crumpled letter shoved in his pocket. His emotions cause his magic to be stronger than ever - it's easy to cast out an unnoticeable green wave to search for his love.
And it seems to work.
Before, he'd been so out of it he could hardly use his magic to keep the dust away from the surfaces. But just seeing a glimpse of you has made him so frustrated, yet so hopelessly love sick.
He pushes past people, his eyes on a little green shape in the distance. It glows slightly, drawing his attention to his one speckle of hope.
His pace quickens, rushing until the green blur becomes a faint outline, the outline becoming a clear, moving shape. Shouts, scuffles, yelps of pain and the sound of bodies hitting something solid fills the air. Loki's heart fills with dread as he rounds the corner and looks into a wide alleyway.
~★~
They've found you.
You stayed in one place for too long and now your paying for it. It's a four against one fight; one lies in semiconsciousness on the floor, one is attempting to regain their senses after a nasty blow to the head and the other two are pinning you against the wall, a knife against your neck as a metallic tang spreads through your mouth.
They decide to slam you against the wall once more for good measure, causing your head to loll as a wave of dizziness momentarily hits your senses. You feel something warm trickle from your mouth.
"You've been running for too long, Y/n," One of them spits, glaring you down with narrowed eyes. "But we've got you now. Boss'll be happy."
"Oh yeah? And what makes you so sure I won't run again?" You're pushing the limits, grappling for more time as your mind works overtime to find an escape route. You find nothing.
The men laugh. "With what the boss has planned for you, I don't think you'd stand a chance at running away again," A single note of fear strikes your heart. "Now, let's get this over with, shall we?"
A malicious grin seeps onto his face as he raises a large fist, intending to bring it down onto your head to knock you out. You brace yourself for the blow, sucking in a breath and watching as...
He's knocked to the floor. Green sparks of magic fly around the alleyway, your heart somehow simultaneously sinking and swelling at the same time. You'd know that colour anywhere. The men end up bound outside the alleyway, your knight in shining armour stood nearby, black locks flowing gently in the breeze.
You take a moment to catch your breath, processing what just happened as crimson droplets splatter onto the floor.
"What are you doing here?" You say, fear etching into your tone. "You can't be here! How did you even find me?"
"Y/n-" Your name slips from his tongue like honey, tempting you closer - somehow, you resist.
"No, no, no. Get away from here! You still have a chance to escape before they-"
"Y/n, stop," Loki interrupts, his voice harsh yet somewhat broken. You stop, eyes beginning to burn with tears as he timidly approaches you. "I don't care," He laughs as a single droplet slips down his cheek. "I don't care about being safe. I really don't."
He takes a few more steps until he's a mere breath away, his eyes scanning your face. In the dim lighting of the bedroom, he wouldn't of seen the slowly fading bruises, the new scars from healed cuts; but now he takes note of every single one, including the new gashes.
"I just want to be with you," He murmurs. "I just want to be with you..."
You feel your lip quivering. Loki's hand moves slowly to cup your face, his thumb rubbing gently over a yellowing bruise. You allow it, relaxing into his touch and feeling a weight lift from your shoulders.
Loki leans down and presses his forehead gently to yours, being careful not to hurt your injuries.
"Let me come with you. Please,"
You sigh, squeezing your eyes shut as the tears begin to cascade. "But you just got your freedom back... I can't take it away from you. And what if you get hurt? I can't... I-"
Loki hushes you. "I don't feel free without you. And where's the fun if we don't get a little injured?" His lips curve up into a smile; something you've been longing to see since you left. "Let me come with you, my love."
The corners of your mouth quirk up slightly as you shrug, finally giving in to your heart. "Fine. You can come,"
"Thank you," He wipes off the blood that has settled below your mouth and on your chin. Then, releasing a sigh, he wraps you into his arms, squeezing you tightly.
"I'm sorry," You mumble into his chest.
"Don't be. We're together now,"
"I love you,"
"I love you too, my darling."

This is amazing!! I love it sm đŸ„č Dani and Loki are so cute together đŸ«¶
Prank Your Way In
It's never dull being with the God of Mischief. Dani found him intimidating at first, but Loki was smitten from the first moment he saw her, wanting to get to know this magnificent creature. Any time he attempted to approach her, she would scamper away, frustrating him to no end.
After a few failed attempts, he thought about giving up, but Thor would have none of it.  He had noticed his brother's attempts and wanted him to be happy, at least have a friend, if not more.
"Don't worry, little brother. She's shy with almost everyone, mostly men. I do not know the exact reason why.  Might I suggest talking to Lady Natasha? She and Dani have become good friends. "
"I do not know what you are referring to brother.  I was merely attempting to discover if she was worthy of conversation. Apparently she is not."
Rather than allow his older brother to attempt more advice, Loki departed for the training room to blow off some steam from being caught out on his attempts to connect with Dani.
Conjuring up a few dummies, he practiced his knife throwing, not that he wasn't amazing at it already.  When he grew tired of that, he took a page out of Roger's book and battled with a punching bag, using his magic to make it strong enough for an asgardian, or jotun in his case.
"She's not afraid of you if that's what you're thinking. Well, not your past anyways. "
Loki continued to punch the bag. "I do not know what you mean.
Natasha stayed in the doorway.  "We've all seen you try to talk to her. It's ok. The problem isn't you specifically."
"Then, pray tell, what is the problem?" He continued on with the bag.
"She has severe trust issues with men. It's not my place to talk about it, but it takes a very long time for her to be comfortable being around men, much less talk to them. That's why she's always so quiet. She barely talks to Tony, and he's the one who rescued her. Don't beat yourself up about it."
Loki gave up with the pouncing bag and finally turned to face Nat.  "It's not hard to deduce that she would naturally be afraid of me simply due to what I did a few years ago here in New York. "
"To be honest, when we found out you were coming here, it's the only time I've seen her speak up in front of everyone. She told them that you deserve a second chance and even she could tell from various footage that you were not yourself. The way she said it was that it was like someone locked a mask on you. I don't know how she knew, but she did.  It's why Stark said yes to you staying with us."
That made his heart tingle.  Maybe there was hope. He was grateful to being out of the dungeons in Asgard. Spending about 5 years there in mostly solitude was not what he would call a good time.
"I
..uh
..I would like to thank her if I could.  If you would pass it on to her, I would most appreciate it. I would like to talk to her myself,  but she seems to run when I try to approach her. So do you have any recommendations?"
Nat thought for a moment. "She loves a good prank. Not on her, but watching them. I know that's right up your alley.  Just don't pull any on me, and we'll call it even."
"Thank you, Lady Natasha. I am most grateful for your suggestion."
Nat nodded and turned to leave. "I'm doing this for her, not you. If you hurt her in any way, I will come after you. "
"I would expect nothing less. "
It started out small. When he knew Dani was looking, he threw out a small spell to change Thor's hair hot pink. She giggled, and her laugh was music to Loki’s ears. Thor didn't car.  He was used to his brother's pranks, but he was glad to see Dani laughing and would happily be the brunt of Loki’s jokes to brighten her day.
A couple of days later, Stark came to the kitchen a little too quiet, and a little too green.  When he spotted Loki, he started to launch into a tirade until he heard Dani laughing, something he had never heard before.
He and Loki looked to Dani and then back to each other. "Watch it, reindeer games."  Loki looked the perfect picture of sheer innocence paired with pouty lips and doe eyes causing Dani to laugh even harder.
Later that day, he contemplated what prank to pull on Bruce but decided against it. He had no desire to have another encounter with the Hulk, even by accident.
The next day, every time Clint spoke, he would cluck like a chicken, but only for an hour or so. Everyone got a good laugh out of that, but it was her laugh that he cherished.
That evening, he was reading his book in the library and contemplating his next prank. Oh how much he wanted to hear Dani laugh some more. Next thing he knew, he was screaming at the top of his lungs, Dani laughing harder than ever. She managed to sneak up on him and blast an air horn in his left ear.
When he finally caught his breath and regained his wits, he saw how much Dani was laughing, noting the ear plugs she had donned to protect herself.
"I cannot recall the last time someone successfully snuck up on me for a prank like that. I must commend you. "
Still laughing, she spoke to him for the first time. "That was so much fun. "
Her voice was the most beautiful melody he'd ever heard and craved to speak with her more.
"If you would like, perhaps we could team up on pranks? I'm sure You have many great ideas we could accomplish together. "
From that evening, they became thick as thieves. They glued Banner's door shut. Loki agreed to that as Bruce would likely just call Tony for help.
Loki enchanted Thor's hair and cape to change colors every hour for 24 hours. Of course the colors were matching, and Thor's cape stayed attached to him whether he liked it or not.
Dani wanted to prank Natasha, but Loki had made a promise. So without interfering, Dani placed bubble wrap under Nat's bath mat when she was out running errands.
Of course, when Nat went to take a shower later, she saw what Dani set up but played along anyways. It was worth it when she heard Dani's laughter from the hallway.
Finally, Loki was in the common room.  Dani was passing through as Dani came in, going to sit on the other side of the couch.
From the kitchen, Tony started yelling as mounds of soap bubbles spread everywhere out of the dishwasher. Both Loki and Dani laughed hard at that. She laughed so hard that she didn't notice she ended up next to Loki, her face buried in his arm while they continued to laugh together. This, however, did not pass by Loki. It was a sign that maybe she was becoming more comfortable around him.
"That was a good one, darling. "
She looked up at him confused. "I thought that was you? "
"Definitely not me. "
They noticed Nat nearby, observing. "What? I wanted in on the pranks. "  She smirked as she sauntered away.
As their laughter died down, Dani realized she was comfortable with Loki and didn't move. He took notice and was going to enjoy this as long as he could.
After a couple minutes, he spoke up.
"This has been so much fun.  You are quite the prankster."
"As are you mister God of Mischief. "
He smiled. "Lady Natasha advised me you are the reason I was allowed to come stay in the tower, and I wanted to say thank you.   I know I'm a monster but
"
She looked up at him, putting a hand over his mouth. "You deserve it. I've known monsters,  real monsters.  Monsters are those that are of their own mind and still choose to abuse people.   I could tell by your eyes that you weren't yourself. I'm glad you are now. "
Loki was surprised at her statement. Whomever hurt her would pay, but he would not force the story from her until she was ready. "That truly means a great deal. I believe they can this the beginning of a beautiful friendship if I remember the line correctly? "
Dani beamed.  She loved Casablanca, and somehow he found out about it, watching it late one night.
"You would be correct sir. "
And it was the beginning, not just of a friendship but two kindred spirits bonding, discovering something more and developing into true love. After that day, they could always be found together.

Run
Pairing - Loki x Female Reader
Warnings - Kidnapping, heartache, physical fighting, running away (lmk if you want me to add anything)
Summary - Loki's past actions have finally caught up with him.
Word Count - 1.4k
A/N - Based on the song 'Run' by Snow Patrol!
Masterlist
Tumblr media
There are many things Loki has done in his life. Many things he's done wrong. And he knew they'd catch up with him eventually.
He just hadn't thought they would so soon.
You and him were planning what to do when the inevitable would happen: you'd saved up money, quit your jobs, sold the majority of your furniture and started to pack and make travel arrangements.
Loki hated to do this, especially to someone as amazing as you. If life went his way, he would've left you much sooner so you wouldn't be involved. Or, even better, he would never have taken things to the next level with you at all.
He'd tried to gently break it to you. He'd tried to tell you he was running away and that you had to stay behind for your own safety. But, you being you, wouldn't let him leave without you. And, him being him, gave in to your stubbornness much too quickly.
In all honesty though, he's rather glad you insist on following him to the edges of the Earth and further. In all the wrongness in his life, it seems you're the only thing that's right. If it weren't for you, he's not sure he could've made it this far.
You'd both planned to leave in a few days, the final preparations being made to fall off the grid and into a life of constant running.
"It's okay," You had told him, running a gentle hand across his face. "We'll find a safe place eventually. And even if we don't, at least we'll be together,"
Loki could hardly look at you after your understanding words, but when he finally did, the small, worried smile sprawled across your features almost killed him with guilt. How could he do this to you? Force you into a lose lose situation? Either you stay with him and end up running for the rest of your life, or you never see him again.
He wants you to be happy and have a choice, even if he's not there. And he knows that you staying with him will take everything from you. You've already sacrificed so much for him, so how could he ask you to lose anymore?
Yet, every time he would bring this up with you, you'd always answer the same:
"You are my everything, my love. As long as I don't lose you, I am happy,"
So the plans were made. And they were so close to being complete. Bags were half-packed, the house close to empty. Any devices had been disconnected from the mains and abandoned, the last traces of the two of you inhabiting this small living space slowly being wiped away.
Loki had one more day to watch your tense body as you sped around the place, ensuring you had everything before you left the following night.
However, as per usual, the plans you and him were so close to completing were foiled. They arrived without being noticed - the both of you too distracted to sense something was off - and attacked when they were least expected.
"Do you think we should sell this?" You ask Loki, pointing to the kettle. He cringes, thinking of all the tea he won't get to brew; all the tea he won't get to drink. "And before you say anything," You continue. "We'll find tea somewhere, love. It's not exactly hard to ge-"
There's a loud crash; Loki instantly moves to shield you as the door is blown off its hinges and smashes onto the kitchen floor in a mess of small wooden fragments. Daggers form in his hands as the intruders charge forwards, aiming to capture him and anyone involved with his 'scheming' dead or alive. Blood is shed, the house: wrecked. Both you and Loki fight to keep your freedom - or at least, as much freedom as would be allowed in your current situation. More and more intruders barge into the house - much too many for two people to deal with on their own.
Loki is - of course - considered as the main threat, and therefore is swamped with the most attackers. He's pushed further and further into the house; further and further away from you. Upon noticing the absence of you fighting by his side, he has a horrible realisation.
It trips up his heart, leaving it hanging by a singular, fraying thread. All he knows is he has to get back to you. He has to, for who knows what could happen otherwise? You are strong, and a remarkable fighter... yet you are just a mortal. Your strength has its limits, and though you've awed many by surpassing those limits time and time again, you can't do it every time.
Loki uses his newfound fear and anger of the situation to create a wave of magic so strong it knocks back the majority of the attackers. He pushes past the rest of them, sending daggers and bolts of acid green magic in the direction of anyone in his way.
But it seems his attempts are futile. For every attacker he shrugs off, they're replaced by at least two - he's struggling to shake them all.
A sudden soul-shattering scream from somewhere nearby slashes at the final string holding his heart, sending it plummeting into an abyss of fear and horror. The feelings well up inside him, overwhelming his senses as he calls out for you.
Through some miracle, Loki manages to drop all who were attacking him. He sprints through the open front door, yelling your name as if it'll magically bring you back to his side so you may run away together.
He watches through eyes slowly clouding over with tears as you're manhandled and dragged across the floor to a van. You fight against the iron grips of the attackers, unbothered - or perhaps unbeknownst - to the blood smeared across your face.
Loki yells once more, shrugging off the hands of people who try to grab him. Attention is brought to the God, and he thinks that perhaps it's the perfect time for you to free yourself.
But instead, you simply stop.
You stop fighting. Stop shouting. Instead, you murmur eight words meant only for his ears.
"Run," He hears you say. "Run and don't you dare look back."
Without thinking twice about it, he does. He runs as tears begin to overspill, trickling down his face and undoubtedly leaving blotchy red trails. His footsteps fall heavily on the ground, his breathing unnaturally quick.
Loki keeps going - he keeps running until he's far away from the house, far away from the attackers, far away from... you. Eventually he can't move anymore and collapses on a park bench who knows where.
He's hungry, sweaty and exhausted; but most of all, his heart feels as if it's been dropped in poison. He just simply left you in the hands of those monsters. He left you to suffer on your own.
He left you behind.
And deep down he knows that your final words to him didn't just have one meaning.
Yes, you didn't want him to see you get thrown into the back of a van as if you were a ragdoll. Yes, you didn't want him to watch you get manhandled and hurt in the process.
But you also don't want him to look back on you. You don't want him to think about what was or what could have been. You don't want him to dwell on his mistakes and how he believes he led you into this. You don't want him to believe this is his fault.
You want him to forget about you so he can move on and potentially have the chance to be happy. And Loki knows this.
But how can he be happy when he's not with you?
He sits exhausted against the bench, the usually beautiful setting sun feeling as if it's taunting him. Fire-like rays of orange spread across the ground, the light making it look as if the trees are black with charcoal.
Loki wonders if he should listen to you. If he should forget about you and move on; leave you with those horrid people. A very small part of him thinks this may be the best option... for him at least.
The rest of him knows he can't just leave you there. It could kill you. He also doesn't believe he can survive without the constant light you bring him.
Shakily climbing to his feet, he begins work on a plan to rescue you and carry out the life you both used to wish you could have - a life where you don't have to run away. A life where you can be together without the constant fear.
Loki makes a quiet promise to himself, one he hopes he'll never break.
No more running.

Thank you so much again for the tag!! ❀❀
And that event sounds amazing, you've got me all excited now đŸ€—đŸ«¶
Reading List September 2023 📖
Tumblr media
Welcome back, MY LOVELIES ! â™„ïžđŸ
Get out your party hats because we're celebrating! It's officially been a year since I posted my very first reading list đŸ„ł Might seem a bit silly but this is the only thing I've managed to keep going for that long, sooo honestly I'm way more proud than I probably should be 😆
Obviously you lovelies deserve the biggest THANK YOU for even being interested and motivating me every month! You don't even know how much it meant to me :)
I've been thinking about a way to celebrate a little bit and decided (with moral support by @lokisgoodgirl 💕) to create my first little event!
Since I'm not a writer myself but selfishly want more to read, it's gonna be a Prompt(ober) Event 🎃 where I'll give out prompt cards to everyone who'd like to participate!
More info will follow, typically I'm not quite ready yet 🍁 Plus, with all the events currently running I figured everybody is already busy enough and I'll give it a bit more time. Would you lovelies prefer Mid-October or beginning of November?
Thank you again for being here with me the last year and let's get this list going! I adore all of you. đŸ«¶
Tumblr media
As always, if I made any mistakes, please tell me. Hope you'll find something new to enjoy, please remember to reblog those storys to support our writers!

These two awesome babes have teamed up to write five fics for us this spooky season! ✧˚☆ First Part Blood Lust is out now and I mean.. do I have to mention more than Father Laufeyson? 😏 I'm so excited for the following parts, I might just die while waiting.
🎃 Kinktober 2023 | @sarahscribbles | ongoing
Anyone else still getting needy when thinking about the kinktober fics we got last year because Saz literally just wanted us to loose any clear thought we ever had? 😼‍💹 Well she's doing it again and my head has been emptied already, I'm just gonna be over here drooling about the first fic Spanking đŸ„”
These Wicked Games Collection | @mochie85 | ongoing
New chapter for this amazing collection 😍 After that fateful morning weeks ago our first contact with Loki again plays out during a game of Truth or Dare which forces us to finally confront your feelings. đŸ”„
Freedom & Forgiveness | @darkserenity24 | ongoing
Literally binged the current 40 chapters in two days because I couldn't stop reading! In this one we are just a normal girl with our father working in the Avengers tower as a psychologist. When the God of Mischief escapes his cell in the basement, he comes across us while looking for revenge but ultimately doesn't hurt us. As time goes by we're getting more and more curious about the prisoner that is again imprisoned, until we find a secret door, seemingly leading down in the basement... đŸ’„
A Scandal in Bohara | @mareebird | ongoing
The situation on Bohara is not getting any less confusing for Loki and Strange, only getting more complicated because they both start to show that neither of them are particulary talented when it comes to friendship and trusting each other 👀
Don't fear the Reaper | @ijuststareatstuffhereok89 | completed ✅
Buckle up for the thrilling finale of this series! After the last dramatic confrontation with the Flock, the time has come: We have to face SHIELDs test of our control over our abilities which turns out completely different than what we were expecting. And even if we manage to pass, what will our future in New Asgard and the relationship with Loki look like? đŸ’„ đŸ«Ł
DĂ©chire | @ijuststareatstuffhereok89 | ongoing
We're a spy for HYDRA, sent to infiltrate the Avengers and tear them apart by seducing the three strongest members: Steve, Bucky and Loki. I'll just say it, this might become the most glorious smutfest ever and I'm here for it. And my new favorite term love square - which I suspect will lead us to aaaall the smut, kinks and tropes we ever wanted đŸ«  I feel filthy already đŸ«Š
Fire Eyes | @unlucky-number-13 | ongoing
The mutual attraction between Loki and Brenda is at this point undeniable - but only manages to complicate things even further. They can't seem to stay away from each other with Brend even risking her long friendship with Nick when she chooses Loki over him as a partner in the field 👀
Blood & Flowers | @unlucky-number-13 | ongoing
I'm so excited about this story, I love the concept so much and the first chapter already is amazing. Angst, fluff and enemies to lovers incoming! We are already always at odds with Prince Loki and trying to best each other, when the insufferable god casts a spell that causes flowers to bloom on our skin whenever he's injured - while he certainly meant to annoy us with that, things are getting more and more confusing for both of us the longer the spell lasts.
We are the Monsters | @cultofcarter | ongoing
After finding a safe haven in Wakanda, it has become apparent by now that we will need someone to teach us control over our abilities - and who'd be better for that job than a certain god? Shuri sneakily manages to convince the Avengers that she needs his help for another project and we finally get to meet Loki ✹
The Wedding Present | @gigglingtiggerv2 | ongoing
A new installment with Lex and Loki, who you might remember from Giggles series Action & Reaction ! When Loki has to make a trip to Asgard, Lex finds him to be acting suspicious about it. A conversation with Thor finally reveals the unthinkable: Loki is actually engaged. Even if just for reasons of diplomacy, Lex has trouble dealing with the fact and it really doesn't help that Loki tries to hide even more details about it.. until he presents her with a something he thinks will proof to her how much she means to him. Be ready guys. :D
Transgressions | @lokischambermaid | ongoing
I'm falling more in love with this series with every chapter people. After a dramatic falling out with Loki following a few troubling revelations we struggle with finding out what is the actual truth about the allegations against him. Loki isolates himself until a surprising friend showd up to comfort him and resolve the situation - so everybody can concentrate on the real task at hand since the allegations are still on the table.. đŸ’„
Out of my system | @simplyholl | ongoing
Drama ensues when we are allowed to travel to Asgard with Loki! Not only do we have a big secret he currently doesn't know about, suddenly we're not even sure anymore he even wants to be with us at all when we find him meeting a woman he once was in a relationship with 🙊
On the Edge | @peachyjinx | ongoing
This might be the idea we've all been waiting for, especially if you enjoyed this type of book when you were younger like me: Choose your own Smutventure! In this one we are an Avenger dealing with being distracted by Loki and how attractive he is. 😏 Nothing has happened yet aside from some flirting. Our problems increase by a landslide when we're suddenly unable to orgasm and have to figure out how to solve the situation. đŸ«
Broken Mirrors | @teamatsumu | completed ✅
A short but beautiful and emotional story, where Loki is asked by Tony to look into magical artifacts they discovered in a HYDRA base. But even as an expert in this field, the God of Mischief is shocked to discover a young, frail woman who definitely could use his help - because she is trapped inside an antique mirror.
Two Broken Make a Whole | @thomase1 | ongoing
After our last mission basically failed, Thor and Loki disappear for a while to deal with the enemies and resolve the situation. Loki starts to act differently to us which causes a lot of confusing feelings to emerge while we dive a bit deeper into the history of Medusa, the name one of the HYDRA agents called us.
A Fairytale Beginning | @the-lady-amphitrite | ongoing
Lore Train is leaving the station, get on board! We don't get to know more about the current situation with Loki but this new chapter will not leave you disappointed eitherway. Since we're coming of age it's time to revisit our peoples history and even more importantly learn about true destiny and what may be our future path! ♄

Carefully prying the window open, you slip inside the room that's given you nightmares for the past few months. Okay, perhaps they're the exact opposite of nightmares - they're beautiful dreams of you and him dancing, smiling, laughing in this very room. But they remind you of what you've lost, each and every moment haunting you like a ghost.
You look around - almost everything is exactly as you remember, though slightly more unkempt and rather... lifeless. This room alone used to be warm and bright and lived in, the walls full of colour and the air full of sweet smells of food or perfume.
But now the air holds a biting cold; long, dark shadows spread across the floor and walls, sucking out all of the colour that once lit up your life. You can only smell him - that heavenly yet poignant aroma that sits quietly on blankets void of warmth and surfaces void of use. The bed looks slept in, but only on one side: your side. You sigh as those familiar daggers begin to prod once more at your scarred heart.
You daren't venture further into the house, lest your resolve finally crumbles at the sight of it all; or, perhaps worse, if he is here. As much as you'd love to see him, you don't know what you'll say. It's inevitable for him to have many questions, but the answer lies in the letter you hold tightly in your clammy hands, your grip slightly creasing the edges of the envelope.
This damned letter... it had taken weeks to create. Weeks of procrastination and nights with paper on your lap and a pen in your hand attempting to find the right words. There was many a time you planned on ditching it and moving on with your life, but giving him an explanation as to why you suddenly disappeared is the very least you can do.
You inhale deeply, eyes flitting over every inch of dusty surface to find a spot to place this envelope where he'll see it. You had thought about posting it - it would be easier and he'd definitely find it. But you didn't want it to get lost in transit and you're not sure if you could've scraped together enough to buy a stamp; you would've had to have skipped a meal for the sixth time that week. Delivering it yourself is also an excuse for you to say goodbye one final time.
There's a creak as the door opens; you automatically fall into a fighting stance, turning to face the intruder.
But it's not an intruder at all.
He's frozen in the doorway, his once vibrant green eyes now muted in colour as his gaze flits over you.
"Y/n?" He asks quietly.
"Loki..." You breathe. His face is sunken, his cheekbones more defined and the twinkle in his eyes has been snuffed out. Deep, grey eyebags sit uncomfortably under his eyes and his once luscious, ebony hair hangs limp and greasy around his face.
And yet, as much as his dishevelled appearance disturbs you, he's also just as beautiful as when you first met him.
He takes a step forwards; cautiously, as if you may just disappear in a puff of smoke.
"Where have you been?" His voice is strained, tears welling in his eyes.
You take a short breath, unsure if you're still able to breathe. You don't know what to say; don't know how to answer. He's hurt. So hurt. And it's all because of you. He's left call after call and voicemails galore, all of which you've ignored. He can't be involved in this. You can't let him get injured - or worse - because of you. Though, you realise now, that perhaps it would've been less painful for him to have followed you to the grave.
You shake the thought away. This is better for him. He'll get over it, move on and find someone who actually deserves him.
You can't find the words to respond, your mouth opening and closing stupidly as streaks of despair slowly etch into your face.
"Please answer me," He cries. "I've been looking for you everywhere, I've called hundreds of times, I've done everything I can think of! You just disappeared as if you were never here. I didn't even know if you were alive, Y/n,"
A single tear slips silently down your face, resting on the pillow of your cheek. Words still evade you, thoughts coming and going in a jumbled up mess.
"It's been months! Months since you disappeared without a trace, leaving me here all alone! Do you not understand how hard that's been for me?" His anger has started to bleed into his words and actions now; you don't blame him. You too would be angry and upset if he'd left without a goodbye, let alone an explanation.
You still stay silent, which just seems to rile him up further.
"Why aren't you speaking!? Is this all some way of torturing me? Did I do something to mess this all up?"
He lets out a choked sob, each word sending you further and further into a black hole of despondency.
"You know what? I really needed you," A single note of bitter laughter escapes his cracked, dry lips. "I needed you, and you weren't there!"
You swallow a lump in your throat, the room falling silent save for Loki's deep breathing. There's a pang of pain in your heart as you decide what you're going to do. Reaching over to a nearby bookshelf, you drop the letter on the nearest shelf and look back to the God, tears freefalling down both faces.
"I'm so sorry, Loki," Your voice won't come out louder than a whisper.
He opens his mouth to speak, but you turn on your heel and jump through the window and onto the streets before you have a chance to hear his voice anymore. You can hear him calling after you, but don't dare to look back as you run down the street, dipping into a narrow, abandoned alley.
Your hand covers your mouth as you slide down the dirty wall of the building, stifling your sobs as everything begins to unravel. You don't know what to do. Your head keeps telling you to move; to leave Loki to live his life. He'll get better. He'll find happiness.
But your heart wants you to run back to him and make it all better again.
You pull out your phone and dial your voicemail, giving in to the temptation of the many messages Loki had left you.
"Hi love, it's Loki. Where are you? I just arrived home-"
You listen to each and every one, allowing the tears to fall harder and faster as you hear him become more frantic; more desperate. Until finally, the last one plays.
"Please Y/n. Please answer my calls. I-" There's a deep, shuddering breath on the other end of the line. "I love you so, so much. I can't lose you. Please, just... just come home,"
A long beep signals the end of the voicemail, leaving you feeling more alone than ever.

The pencil glides across the paper, your eyes flicking up every few seconds to copy the sharp shape of his jawline or the smooth curve of his cheek.
The lines vary in thickness from thin, faint lines of detail to hard, clear outlines. It takes a while to get his nose the perfect shape - or at least, as perfect as you can get it. Next, you trace the shape of his eyes, wishing you had a green pencil to capture the beautiful, emerald colour of his irises.
Loki doesn't know you're drawing him - he sits quietly in front of you, a book in his lap opened and held carefully so as not to break the spine or dogear the pages. You too were planning on getting lost in the world of a book, but watching his chest rise and fall evenly as his eyes dart across each word was too wonderful of a sight to simply pass up on.
You begin focusing on the shading once the basic shape is completed, wishing your skill was good enough to capture the contentedness in his eyes, his large, ink-black pupils flitting back and forth over the pages; the peacefulness in his face and the way his hair curls and falls softly over his shoulders; the way he is so relaxed in your company, slightly slouched against the sofa while his legs are crossed one over the other.
You find yourself lost by his beauty; he takes your breath away. You're so caught up in attempting to encapsulate him and the feeling he gives you in one drawing that you don't notice his soft eyes flicking from his book to you, sparks of curiosity swimming around in a sea of silky, emerald green.
He's silent as he watches you, instantly guessing what you're doing. Your tongue is stuck out with concentration, your eyes squinting slightly at the pad of paper in your arms. Loki marvels at how beautiful you look, the face you make sending hoards of butterflies fluttering through his stomach and around his heart.
How did he ever find someone as amazing as you? You waltzed into his life like a ray of sunshine, your light magically healing and sealing his wounds. Yes, scars remain. And occasionally they'll open up once more, bleeding thickly into his mind and plaguing his every thought; but you're always there to clean the wounds. You stop the bleeding, your comforting hands and kisses leaving trails of love all over his body.
The corners of Loki's lips twitch upwards in a light smile - one he seems to be unable to suppress. He knows he should stop staring. Perhaps he should return to his book, leave you to finish your drawing unbeknownst to him watching you.
But curiosity gets the better of him.
"What are you up to, love?"
You freeze, eyes gravitating from the smudged paper to his face.
"Just, uh-" You clear your throat. "Just drawing,"
His smile grows. "May I see?"
You look back to the half-finished drawing of his face, cringing at all the imperfections you are yet to work on. "Well... perhaps when it's complete,"
"Alright. I can't wait, my dear," He mumbles, returning his gaze to his book - but not, however, reading a single word. His mind is preoccupied, never straying far away from the thought of you.
Loki sighs after a few moments of indecision, making his book disappear in a flash of green and summoning his own sketch pad and pencils. You eye him sceptically, aware of his sudden movements.
"And what are you up to?" You ask.
"Just drawing," He replies, flashing you a grin before beginning to map out the shape of your face.
A small smile spreads across your features; one you don't intend on him seeing but know he does anyway. Loki quickly sketches out the curved shape of your lips, knowing he will likely be unable to see such a flustered yet beautiful smile again while he's drawing.

What do you prefer? Happy endings, sad endings, happy-sad endings, or something else? Let me know your thoughts, because though I personally like to emotionally scar myself and other people (accidentally, I promise) I know that's not always the best way to go about things... I'm writing this one oneshot idea which came to me literally 10 seconds ago and I don't know how to end it!!

Heart Sealed Away (in more ways than one)
Chapter 1
2K words

My footsteps echoed loudly through the stone-covered halls, though they were barely heard over the sound of yelling, banging, and dreadful screaming that filled the labyrinth that was the asgardian dungeons. The sounds twisted my stomach into intricate knots that surely wouldn’t be undone until well after I've returned to the surface and was on my way back home. I was only from an outlying village, way outside of the main kingdom’s reach. A beautiful village, but it was small, and sometimes it felt suffocating to even be there. For my entire life, I could have only dreamed of the extravagance that the kingdom held. But this
this was something else entirely. It wasn’t just extravagant, it was jaw-dropping in its enormity. Even the dungeons were vast. Being under the palace itself, it's almost as if it went on infinitely. Maybe that's why I was so desperately lost.
Hallway after hallway, cell after cell, prisoner after prisoner, it was seemingly impossible for me to get to my destination, and I wondered if I'd even be able to find my way out after I'd finished with my task. The glimmering, golden magic that sealed the criminals away in their cells lit the halls with a luminous, yellow glow. It was haunting. eerie. but somehow, beautiful. well, if you ignored the raging, maniacal prisoners behind it. It felt  like I’d been searching for an eternity. Every hall I passed, I'd glance down hopefully, wishing to see his body, his hair, his face, something that I recognized that would say to me ‘yes, that’s him!’. But every time, I would be faced with disappointment. But looking down a particular hallway, I wasn't faced with fulfilling hope, nor crushing disappointment. but rather
curiosity. I had passed many cells in my journey through the dungeon, but a particular cell with a particular prisoner had caught my eye. It was very unlike the others. The rest of the cells were barren of any basic amenities. Not only that, but they were filled to the brim with people, kicking at the empty walls and floors. This one
simply wasn’t. There was a single man inside, completely on his own. But his cell wasn’t empty, no no, it seemed to be filled with finely crafted asgardian decor. there was a small table in the corner (with only one chair, of course). There were books strewn about the place, even on the floor due to the sheer amount of them. The man in question, though, was sitting on the bed (another luxury not provided to the other prisoners, it seems) with a book in his hand, reading it intently. Well
at least he was when I first arrived
When I looked back at him, his gaze was trained on me. I let out a barely audible gasp in surprise and I took a small step back, even though he was sealed away and couldn’t possibly touch me. He had this
look on his face. one that absolutely oozed confidence. one that said ‘i’m sealed behind magic. I'm locked away in the dungeons. and yet I'm still superior to you’. I wanted to leave, to continue on with what I was supposed to be doing, but it was as if his gaze was a magnet, helplessly freezing me in place. “What could you possibly want?” he said when he saw me looking back at him, talking with that same air of confidence that his face held. His voice rumbled deep as the thunder that often rolled through the kingdom every summer. This man was obviously dangerous in some kind of way, otherwise he wouldn’t be here. I didn't want to talk with him, but running would make me look cowardly. I tried my best to bury my nerves by standing up straighter and taking a deep breath. “I
apologize, sir. I was simply curious. I'm sorry if I’ve bothered you, and I’ll leave you back to your reading.” I said politely, only with a slight tremble in my voice. I was hoping that would be all, to make a quick escape after that, but as I began to walk away, he stood up and strolled over to the barrier. He was tall, unfortunately adding to his intimidating nature. His thin lips were curled in a playful smirk and he absentmindedly ran his hands through his exceedingly dark hair, tucking it behind his ears because of its length. “Leaving? Where could you be going all the way down here? What business could you possibly have in these dungeons?” He asked. His eyes were narrow, almost accusing. Of what? I wasn’t sure. I nervously glanced at my surroundings. The other prisoners were staring on at the ordeal as if it was entertainment. And for them, it probably was. They weren’t lucky enough to somehow have books in their possession like he was (which was something I was definitely curious about). This was probably the most interesting thing that had happened to them in
what, weeks? months? years? I turned my attention back to the man. “I don’t see why that’s any of your business.” I say, trying to mirror his confidence. He smirked and let out a humorless laugh. He quirked his head to the side and raised an eyebrow.
“Humor me” he says while shrugging. “Somebody like me deserves a bit of stimulation after being locked away in a place so
mundane.”
Somebody like him. I scoff at his words.
“You seem to think quite highly of yourself, don’t you?” My confidence rises the longer we speak. I fold my arms behind my back, clasped together.
He gestures down at himself arrogantly with that smirk on his face growing into a smile.
“Shouldn’t I?” He says, so confidently that I almost feel dumb by not knowing what he means.
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, trying to figure out what he’s implying.
It was barely there. For only a fraction of a second, his confidence thinned. He realized that I didn't recognize him and his mask slipped, but he recovered quickly. It happened so fast you could barely catch it
but I did. He looked at me doubtingly, as if I were tricking him.
“Don’t tell me you don’t know who I am.” He says, laughing breathily as he speaks, as if he’s simply exasperated.
I tilt my head, my confusion growing even more. He steps closer, as close as he can without touching the barrier. From there, I could see the vibrant shade of green his eyes were, and they pierced directly into mine. I avert my gaze, but not before noticing the nearly untraceable flecks of gold that swam within the green.
“Who are you?” he asks accusingly, as if I were there for some kind of nefarious reason (if anyone in here was nefarious it would definitely be the one in the cell).
“No, who are you? You’re the one who seems all
high and mighty as if I should know who the hell you are.” My voice rings out with a hint of frustration.
He scoffs, looking away from me to the wall on his left, seemingly thinking. He puts a stiff smile on his face before turning back to me, folding his arms behind his back.
“Fine then, I suppose we’re due for some introductions
my name is Loki”. He speaks his name sharply and proudly.
My face falls, and my confidence shatters. I knew that name. Everyone knew that name. How could anyone not? Being from an outlying village, I had never actually seen the two princes of Asgard. But the names
the names I knew.
But it couldn’t be
the Prince of Asgard, a God
locked away in his own palace’s dungeons? I was baffled.
“Loki? Loki, as in
” I trail off, even more confused than when I had first stumbled upon him.
News within the kingdom never reached outlying villages fast, sometimes not even at all, so no wonder I didn’t know. What could he have possibly done to get himself down here? It must have been horrible if it had him locked away in the furthest reaches of the dungeon, almost as far from the surface as you can get.
He tilts his head to the side as if to say ‘yes, that Loki’. I shake my head slowly in disbelief. Suddenly all the ‘special treatment’ starts to make sense. The beautiful decor, the books to keep him entertained, and him being kept away from the other prisoners. I look back up at him.
“But
why are you-” I begin to speak, but he cuts me off by sticking his hand up and shaking his head.
“No no, we were doing introductions, dear. Go on
” he says gesturing to me, putting that signature smirk back on his face.
I clear my throat and step closer to the cell, not wanting the other prisoners to overhear any personal details. I tell him my name quietly, but I avoid saying anything else and leave it at that. He repeats the name, testing it on his tongue for a moment before he smiles down at me and chuckles.
“Now, what might you be doing down here?” He asks, his voice smooth.
I was already expecting that question, but that didn't mean that I wanted to answer it. I clear my throat and take a deep breath before I sigh and push away my hesitation.
“Im
im looking for my father
” I mumble, looking down at my feet. One of his eyebrows arches and he lets out a hum of curiosity.
“Your father? Interesting
tell me, what did your father do to get himself down here?” His voice is almost taunting, and though I didn’t realize it, something in him desperately wanted to know the answer.
I was the most interesting thing that had happened to him since he had gotten locked up, and he wanted to keep me down here as long as possible before I decided to leave. I was obviously down here for a reason, so I couldn’t stay forever, but he wanted to try and stall me for as long as he could. He found me intriguing, and he wasn’t about to just let me walk away. I shake my head at his question.
“Nuh uh, I already answered a question, now it's your turn.” I say, crossing my arms stubbornly.
He scoffs, and shakes his head.
“I never said anything about taking turns” He says teasingly.
I narrow my eyes at him, and I get embarrassed knowing that he had successfully swindled information out of me. It wasn’t a lot, but it was more than enough for my liking. Right then, I make a vow not to reveal another thing about myself until he does.
From what I could see, he truly was as insufferable as all the rumors said he was. He was arrogant, petty, and acted as if he was some sort of God
 oh. Well
I would suppose that last part was warranted
but there was nothing to excuse all the stuff before it.
“You know what
why the hell am I even entertaining this? I came down here for a reason, and it definitely wasn’t for you, and if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be doing what I was planning to do ages ago and leave you to your reading”. I say the last word with bite, letting him know that no matter what he did or said, I was done with this conversation.
He stood there for a moment, simply looking me over before letting out a hum of acknowledgement and nodding once. He dramatically gestured over to the hallway I had come from.
“By all means
” He speaks with that smirk that by now, I’m absolutely positive is tattooed onto his face.
I let out a huff before walking away as quickly as possible without being too obvious that I just wanted so badly to get out of there. I’m nearly out of his sight before he shouts one last thing, the sound echoing off the walls.
“Say hi to daddy for me” he taunts, and by the sound of his voice I could tell he was smiling.
The words make me stop, but only for a moment before I take a deep breath and continue on my way. When I get out of there, I was absolutely sure that I would never see that man again

Surely not
