Come to think about it

Vivica is probably the closest thing to a "reinvention" or my own personal interpretation of Beelzebub, the lord of the flies

You see, besides the theme of gothic lolita, Viv was created with the thought of "rot" and "flowers" (hence the name of the whole project), that's why her name is Vivica Knapp, because it sounded familiar to "gnat", so just for the lolz im gonna say her full name is Vivica Beatriz Knapp GSJDVSNFV

I am honestly torn off between two different ideas for Vivica

While Jillian is easy to write bc she's the protagonist, i still have no idea what to do for Viv

Don't get me wrong, i do have ideas but i can't decide between two different routes, which are:

Keep her as this sort of pure evil character who nobody knows what her real deal is, or give her a backstory that explains why is she like this. I rlly like both ideas and i can't decide what to do AAAAA

From the very start i want to stablish Viv as someone incredibly mysterious that us (Jillian's pov) can't tell what she is plotting and what her next move would be, and just thinking abt her backstory gave me a headache bc well, literally all my ocs have backstories so creating once ANOTHER backstory rlly set me back aughh

Jill and Viv were supposed to be rlly opposite characters, while Jilly is an open book (and i share her lore openly) Vivie is an enigma to anyone around her. I may choose to actually give her a backstory, but one that only *I* know, or enough clues for the people to gather their own conclusions. But that calls back to my first post of how media literacy is dying and the need to bottle feed people so they actually UNDERSTAND what the fuck they are actually reading (AHEM, mouthwashing, AHEM) And its such an annoying thought that stops me from going with that direction bc the moment someone gets something wrong i can't just help but jump at the opportunity to say "WELL ACTUALLY-" to literally anything i create GANFHNSBFDNBF

Damn, this evolved into a mini rant,,, so uh yeah, that's my big Vivica dilemma, but don't worry guys i'll try to figure out what to actually do with her (eventually)

All i can say is: if she were to have a backstory, it would be Mad Father inspired ;)))

I haven't posted here in a while so here is some new lore for you

On today's topic: Jillian's parents, MUM and DAD

If you guys need a refresher, scroll down to my other posts about Jillian in specific, but to summarize things up, Jill didn't grow up surrounded w many friends and wasn't outstanding in anything academically, she was pretty much average, almost invisible

So how were things w MUM and DAD? If you were to ask Jillian, she would say things were good, overall, they tried their best

She was the only child of two inmigrant parents, she was a high risk pregnancy that thankfully turned out okay for both her and MUM, but because of the age their two parents had, besides the risk she already went thru, MUM couldn't have any more kids

But that was alright for them, they loved Jillian with their whole heart. They loved them so much that gave into anything she wanted (or at least that they could give her)

Jill was born weak, so they always kept an eye over her, they thought they could get hurt or colapse at any second, if she ever stepped out of the house, something could happen to her. The paranoia of her parents warped their image of Jill, who they saw as their fragile little doll to spoil with the little they had. Whenever Jill fell and scraped their knee on the playground was matter enough to take her back indoors till she recovered completely, to call in sick their jobs and even the kindergarten.

She wasn't allowed to go stay at the very few slumber parties she was invited, she would be picked up before midnight. Whenever she was invited to birthday parties in her tween's, she had to bring a chaperone w her. Any idea for hanging out with classmates after school or weekend propositions were gently persuaded away, and when Jill gave up having friends in school, it was almost like a sigh of relief for her parents, who prefered her safety inside the four walls of her room, with her eyes set on the computer screen, rather than hanging around with those "skanks" who drank their youth away in clubs and boys.

Jillian grew up surrounded by the love of MUM, DAD, and her loyal friends: Osito, the akita inu, and her computer screen.
