I was listening to one of my favorite death metal albums and got inspired to draw this

Sam and Bucky don’t work together for the next couple of months, but they cross paths as they go in and out of the house in Delacroix.  Bucky is often there when Sam video calls the family.  It isn’t unusual to see him in the background either cooking or playing with the boys.  He almost always has Alpine either in his arms or tucked into his jacket.  Alpine is a strangely clingy kitten and Bucky is a strangely clingy pet owner.  Sometimes Alpine climbs on Bucky’s shoulder like a parrot.  Everything about it is odd, but they seem to make each other happy.  Sarah often observes that they are ‘adorable’.  

When Sarah sends him a text to ‘Come home hungry’, because she’s teaching Bucky how to make her famous stuffed jumbo shrimp, Sam feels mixed emotions.  On one hand, it feels less like he’s ‘gaining a brother’ than like he’s losing his sister and his friend, but on the other hand…

Sarah’s stuffed jumbo shrimp is like a religious experience.  Sam is not going to mope about being fed an amazing dinner.  Bucky is a good man and the boys love him.  It’s all good.

Sam is surprised to find his sister dolled up when he arrives at the house.  

“Hot date?” he asks before thinking better of it.  

Sarah tries to glare, but her eyes are twinkling.

“It’s just dinner.  Shut up.”

Sam sees Bucky in the backyard with the boys, setting up some kind of tent.

“Dining al fresco?” he asks.  

“Not tonight, but you should take your food out there when it’s done.   It’s all netted so we can eat outside without being devoured by bugs.  You and Bucky can test it out for me.”

“Bucky won’t be eating with you?”

Sarah looks at Sam like he’s the dumbest person she’s ever met.  It’s a familiar look.  

“Why would I bring Bucky on a date?”
