How in the Seven ruddy Hells did I end up here exactly?I went across the Narrow Sea to try to retrieve the Lannister House ancestral sword, Brightroar, and other treasures of the Doom of Valyria, but, well, I didn't exactly make it to Valyria... and not for lack of trying. Returning to Westeros took a little longer than expected, give or take seven or eight years.ooc|| indie rp blog for Gerion Lannister. Will roleplay with anyone within reason. May be NSFW.

"Never even saw her shores through the fumes of the Smoking Sea, though I did get that far, at least," the wayward Lannister replied, noting that her green eyes had become so much like her father's. They had always held her father's strength in them, but something in her had changed since last they spoke so many years ago, something that made her eyes have that touch of coldness that Tywin's had possessed after he'd lost Joanna. He wondered vaguely what had caused his niece to have much the same look in her eyes.
"We were becalmed for nigh a month, and our stores were running low. A few men had even flung themselves into the boiling waters because they had taken on a sort of madness. The crew and captain led a mutiny against me, who was dead-set on staying the course, and got the remaining slaves to row the ship out of the Smoking Sea, where the wind seemed to pick up. They dropped me in Volantis, though thankfully with a good bit of my gold and my few possessions."
"Well, I suppose I should come out and say that they were not entirely successful… at all, really. I lost half my crew and had to buy slaves to fill their places when they found out I was dead-set on crossing the Smoking Sea," Gerion replied with a small smirk, "You think they would have known that I actually intended on doing as I said I would."

This boy king was rather a nuisance, and Gerion would have much preferred to take his leave to Casterly Rock. His brothers, however, would have him stay somewhere safe so he might not be used as a bargaining chip if the opposing armies got a hold of him. He told them that he wasn't so daft as to march into their hands, but they had been insistent and Gerion was made to listen to his elder brothers.
"I wouldn't say nowhere, Your Grace, for it got me many places. Pentos, Volantis, I even sailed the Smoking Sea... somewhat. Of course if you are referring to me being back in Westeros where I started, then I suppose nowhere would be an apt term," Gerion rattled off, making light of the king's insults instead of taking them to heart.
"Though it's surely not quite so fascinating as being the king, I suppose."

laughinglannister travelled to King's Landing
There was quite a different setting to the Iron Throne room this early morning. Not only had Joffrey’s entire small Council decided it best to accompany their King, but the Hand, Cersei, and quite the unusual family member Joffrey knew to be Lord Tywin’s brother - Gerion. He was always an— odd looking fellow to the King. Yes, truly, he was as true a Lannister as his grandfather, but there was something else to the man Joffrey could never quite place. “I heard your efforts across the Narrow Sea got you nowhere,” Joffrey called down from atop the magnificence of his majestic seat. “Fascinating.” The sarcasm in his voice prompted a few cold stares from his other relatives present in the room, but not once had the little Lion’s vivacious smirk weakened. Joffrey loved to pick at the shortcomings of those around him, almost as much as physically putting them through a much similar level of torment.

The younger Lion seemed to be quite shocked to see Gerion alive, and with all things considered, Gerion was fairly surprised himself that he was still alive to get back to Westeros at all. The last years--however many they had been--had surely taken their toll, though Gerion could never be robbed completely of his sense of humour and light-hearted antics. It was the way he dealt with life, and he had quite a lot more to be dealt with now. If he couldn't make a joke, all would be lost to him.
Jaime's soft tone at the mention of Cersei's children already got Gerion to brace himself for bad news. All had seemed to go to pot already since his leaving, and he wondered if it would have gotten any better if he had merely stayed in Volantis. Of course, he couldn't stay in Volantis, it reminded him too much of--
Dead? He tried to conjure the young boy's face, but couldn't quite recall it. It seemed to Gerion that Joffrey had always been a fiery sort, always wanting for attention, but Gerion hadn't fancied him near as much as he'd liked his own nephews. Joffrey had seemed to lack that sense of humour his uncles shared, and seemed crueller somehow, even at the small age of five--or was it six? Cersei had doted on him, though, that much he could recall with clarity.
"He was her first, yes?" Gerion asked, wondering how Cersei was taking this, well, if it happened recently, which Gerion assumed it must have if Jaime was still tip-toeing around the mention of it. "I will be sure to offer my condolences when I see her... I will be able to see her, yes? Surely the queen will still have time for her lost uncle? Once cleaned, of course. I wouldn't see her in this state." He gestured to his unkempt hair with a sceptical expression, once again trying to lighten the otherwise dim situation.
Wayward Lion in the City \\ {Jaime & Gerion}
"The years have not been kind ones, however many they have been." It had been so long since last they had seen one another, that in truth Jaime could hardly remember the conversation that had passed between them then. Has it truly been so long? They had all thought him to be dead, but to see him now, alive if not quite so well.. at least his family was not so broken as he had believed it to be earlier in the day.
The bath was a sensible thing to be drawn, and little preparations would be needed, save for finding a suitable guestchamber for his uncle, and calling for the servants, who would be able to arrange the rest, according to his uncle’s needs and wants. Jaime would need to do no more until sent for, or at the very most he might wait outside of the chambers, waiting. A part of him was filled with eagerness, wanting to hear tales of Gerion’s travels, and of what had happened after the last they had heard of him. But such could wait, until his needs were seen to.
Jaime could wait a while longer.
"Cersei had three," he replied softly. “Tommen is the third. A sweet boy, far kinder in spirit than one would expect, but he’s a good lad. Joffrey though.." he met his uncle’s eyes, wondering what he would think of the news he was about to deliver. “Joffrey is dead."

"I was fond of Westeros when I left it, but I had a job to seek glory for my house..." Gerion replied with a coy smile, "But naught turns out as you wish it, it seems. Don't lose sight of your dreams as I had, fair maid. Coming back to Westeros--if you ever deign to--without what you wanted feels somewhat more hollow than many would care to admit. You may wish to learn new languages while there, however. Foreigners without knowledge of the tongue of the city often get cheated."
The wayward lannister shook his head and shrugged before he continued, "An utter waste, no. I did learn a good deal, had a fairly good time when I think back on it, but it was not what I had wanted. If I could have even seen Valyria through the fumes of the smoking sea, I may have ben happy, but no such sight was granted to me."
She listened intently, smiling softly at his sarcastic quips and unenthusiastic mutterings about the sea. When he was finished, she offered up a small shrug. “I would like to see these places, if not spend an extended amount of time in them.” I want to find Jorah. “The same with the sea. I would like to travel them at some point, but living there for very long just seems unpleasant.”
To get away from Westeros would be a blessing at this point.
"I suppose knowing where the clean whores are is rather important knowledge for those who have never been. I would not call your adventures an utter waste."

It seemed that the wine was loosening the Lord Commander's tongue more than Gerion thought it might. The Ironborn had possession of the North, but they couldn't truly hope to hold it, could they? The Northmen would never let their capital stay in Ironborn hands for long, though it had been some years since Gerion had been in Westeros, and perhaps the power dynamic had truly shifted.
Still, the Ironborn possessing the North as well as Stannis marching to meet them would make his own journey South a bit of a problem. The Ironborn and Stannis bore no love for lions, and while Gerion had been absent from Westeros, he had no doubt that anyone who saw him would know him for a Lannister; he had the look. The only question they might ask before his either capture or demise would be how he managed to travel so far North. Revealing himself as Tywin's brother may not buy him as much amiability as it used to, so he was hesitant to tell those he met on the road south just who he was. It seemed being a Lannister did not pay in this day and age.
But now the Boltons had Winterfell? So Stannis was marching on Northmen? That was an interesting development, to be sure. "So Stannis is against the Northmen possessing Winterfell? Who have they allied with against him?" he asked, leaning forward as he sipped his wine, glad of the warmth finally starting to settle into his bones.
Wayward Lannister at the Wall \\ Lord Snow
Jon stayed silent for a few moments, staring down into his goblet. “I’m not sure if there are still Ironborn in the North,” he said finally, his voice quiet. “I know they-” his voice cracked slightly and he took a deep breath. He knew that he shouldn’t be so invested in matters of the realm, but…
"They took Winterfell. The Ironborn, I mean. They took Winterfell and killed my- the two young Stark boys and then burned it. They also took Deepwood Motte. And Torrhen’s Square, I think. I know that the Bolton’s hold Winterfell now, but I’m not sure about the other two. And Stannis is marching on Winterfell to reclaim it as part of his kingdom."
He drained his wine and took a deep breath, trying to reign in his emotions. “You may choose whatever horse you wish to take you,” he said, lifting his head to give the man a strained smile. “There will be no issue with you looking them over first.”

Modern House Lannister AU: The Lannisters run an (extremely dangerous) international drug cartel and gang.
"Mr. Lannister just couldn’t stop at getting the goods around the world. He started his own gang, too, which his oldest son Jaime is in charge of. But I’ve gotta tell ya— I think his other son would be the better fit for that job. No, instead Tyrion holds the finances. And his daughter, Cersei? She’s been traveling all around since she was 18, supervising the work people do in other bits of Europe and some of Asia. But they say, whenever she’s back with Jaime, they fuck. From dusk till dawn."
