Laura Kirkeby moved to San Francisco in 2011 from Minneapolis, where she received her BFA in Dance from the University of Minnesota. It was there she trained and performed with Ellen Keane of "Keane Sense of Rhythm." Since then, Laura has performed and choreographed throughout the Bay area and beyond. She has studied a wide variety of dance forms including but not limited to contemporary, popping, bgirling and tap. She had the privilege being a part of Mixd Ingrdnts and can't wait to teach the talented girls of Mini Mixd! Laura will be teaching tap foundation and technique as well as choreography. [Kneeling abdominals and leg reach] 1)In a kneeling neutral spine, Inhale to expand the belly and rib cage, exhale to feel the waistline narrow towards the spine. You can let the belly relax and hang towards the floor to feel the opposition of picking up your low abdominals on the exhale. 2) single leg reach: reach one leg back while maintaining a strong upper back (think push the floor away while simultaneously sliding shoulders towards pelvis) -feel the back line of the leg and lift just enough to feel the bottom of your glute engage. **Remember to keep your head in line with your spine! #pilates #lowabdominals #upperbackstrength #athomeworkout #athomeexercise
