"The Good and the Bad: What can the future media provide to the next generation?"
Tumblr media
The social and professional benefits of the future media can not be denied as young people today are much more exposed to world events and topics that affect society today through these media. We cannot negate the fact that media has grown in popularity in recent years. There is nothing wrong with using technology and spending time in media. Still, we must also remember that we have responsibilities in life. We must consider both the negative and positive effects of different media types while using all of these.  But, in every good, there is also a wrong side present to it. Without a doubt, the future media can provide something good, and this is to motivate individuals to become more involved in their communities and try to make a difference. There is also an educational advantage to consider while using media, with professors being able to connect and collaborate on projects with their students and some employing social networking sites to debate important educational topics with others. Over half of the users discuss with their classmates. Young social media users, for example, have stated that if they see their online friends participating in politics, they are more inclined to vote in elections. It is impossible to deny that social media can help to facilitate political change by disseminating knowledge and mobilizing groups of like-minded individuals. Today, young people are more informed with news often being released on sites like Facebook, etc. The future media strengthen the lines of communication, being able to communicate instantly with people in their local area and worldwide.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Perversely, there is a negative perspective; some teens spend so much time on the internet that they neglect their schoolwork and responsibilities. Also, many young individuals are unaware of the fact that social networking sites have a disadvantage. Some students spend so much time on their favorite websites that they ignore their studies, and official figures reveal that those who spend more time on media every day have much lower marks. Lastly, the advancements of media may be harmful to those who do not know how to utilize them the right way in the future. "Copy Right and Intellectual Property: How do I protect it as a Young Individual?”
Tumblr media
A sort of intellectual property is referred to as "copyright." Its initial rights were awarded to a copyright holder for an intriguing and inventive original work that had been fixed in a physical form. Intellectual property includes all types of intellectual work, such as written texts, creative works, inventions, designs, symbols, names, photos, computer software, etc. Copyright, trademark protection, and patent rights are examples of areas where intellectual property law protects creators. Anyone with even rudimentary technological skills may now make and consume protected material while circumventing traditional distribution routes.
Tumblr media
As a result, copyright rules have become much more applicable to the vast numbers of people who connect with digital news. Intellectual property is one of the most common moral decisions that young people confront online, yet educating youngsters to comprehend intellectual property can be tricky since they may not recognize it as an ethical challenge. We have less time to contemplate the moral norms or potential consequences of entering unauthorized content since it is so easily accessible on the internet. New technologies may make it easier to avoid empathizing with others who suffer due to our actions. The conflict stems from the fact that, while some acts, such as pirating movies, are unethical, many common causes, such as beginning to create fictitious stories or utilizing copyrighted content in a personal video, are less apparent. Furthermore, a substantial proportion of young people claim they frequently do not know whether the media outlets they utilize are reliable or not.
Tumblr media
With all this, abiding laws and regulations is a must. Copyright law should be implemented in all forms of every individual's intellectual property. As a youth, we must protect this right because It is just and rightful that people have the power and rights to protect what is theirs, and this work deserves accreditation and acknowledgment as this recognizes the hard work and intellect of an individual. As young individuals, we must protect our intellectual property because, just like using technology or media, we can use it whenever we want while also protecting our safety. Moreover, in the case of intellectual property, we must ensure that we are aware of our property rights, know if our ideas are unique and are safe from plagiarism issues, register our trademarks or copyrights, and avoid joint ownership. Without knowing how to protect our intellectual property, there is a chance that joint ownership or other competitors will profit from our inventions, products, and marketing results.

“Delivering News in the Present Age”
Tumblr media
When we correlate the news from the past to the information from today, we can see that there is a considerable change and how it evolved. As a result of technology improvements, the way news is made, conveyed, and perceived worldwide has changed tremendously. It seems that in this present age, everything we need to know is all within a click of a finger. From newspapers to social media sites, we've been exposed to these different materials that offer information. People are consuming more news and from more sources than ever before, and it has altered how we learn and revolutionized how we formulate opinions about our surroundings. Taking a step into the digital world has allowed us to explore a new dimension. With the wide variety of content published and viewed online, it becomes clear that it continues to increase over the years, with no sign of slowing down.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, the Internet does exist in today's generation. It significantly reduced the hurdles to publishing. It spawned a massive new information marketplace, one with orders of magnitude more options than the world of print. With this, a variety of possibilities resulted in substantial shifts in consumer behavior. But how notably is it too far? Delivering news in the present age has become strife and challenge for many. With comprehensive information horizons, trustworthy sources and reliable material seem to drown with all the misleading information published online. We now resort to social media as our saving grace to collect news, believing the mere headline without comprehending the content. In a world where fraudulent information from illicit sources is becoming extremely advanced, the source's reliability is imperative. We must be involved in delivering quality and reliable information, and we should be the agent of educating our society about the validity of how we provide or even in receiving news in the modern era. That responsibility falls on all of us who heed the future of delivering reliable and quality information in open societies. Every single one of us. Every single day. "Media Evolution and the Changing World"
Tumblr media
From old to new media, the evolution of media has altered our perceptions of the world around us. Old media is a more traditional manner of communication through television, radio, newspapers, magazines, and books, while new media is interactive and user-generated. In this changing world, we have seen and witnessed how media gracefully shifted and have become adaptive to the emergence of technological advancements, which made the lives of every individual easier and convenient. Also, with the media evolving, so does the world that is heavily affected by it. Nevertheless, since then, media have come a long way, information now spreads quickly, and now we can confirm if those pieces of information are accurate or misleading. As of January 2021, the number of people active in social media was 4.66 billion, and it is still growing, making media one of the most crucial reasons for changing the world as we know it, through spreading information with just a simple share or retweet. With this new media consisting of the different online platforms and enhanced print materials, it has been more accessible for us to obtain information with just a single click, tap, and swipe.
Tumblr media
Furthermore, understanding the evolution of media allows us better to comprehend the past, present, and future. We shall be able to comprehend where the media originated and how the history of the media aids us in comprehending how things came to be in society.  However, traditional media is still vital despite this changing world as it is a part of our culture. Growing up, we have been used to this. That is why we should not just leave this behind and still utilize old media as not all individuals, especially the older ones, have adapted to the new media despite this changing world.

“On Becoming a Medium: Gen-Z Individuals as Modern Communicators”
Tumblr media
It is no secret that we live in an era that leaned towards technology in today's modern world. With these advancements, the process of communication has never stopped emerging. So as the evolution of today's modernized communicators, the generation Z or Gen-Z. According to the Pew Research Center, "Generation Z, or post-millennials, are the first generation to grow up as "tech-savvy individuals" who encountered the internet as part of their everyday life at a young era."
Tumblr media
This generation, born after 1997, has spent the majority of their life in front of screens, which has resulted in distinct communication preferences. Presently, we have various technologies that we can utilize to interact with other people and the internet. We can create a post or an IG story on Instagram, share posts on Facebook, rant on Twitter or talk to someone on our smartphones using technology. Gen-Z can get information instantly and loses interest just as fast as the internet connection. Besides, Gen-Z is more prone to getting immediate feedback and continuous updates. According to research conducted by cloud mobile solutions provider LivePerson, “65 percent of Generation Z prefer to converse online rather than in person when at home.” Due to this, Gen-Z can process information actively than the other generations. We are used to multi-tasking and using multiple screens such as phones, computers, TV, tablet, and many more at all once.
Tumblr media
In this generation, it is evident that Gen-Z, as modern communicators, has become more vocal with what we believe in our philosophies, opinions, and emotions. We have become more adaptive to the latest, more flexible to changes, and more diverse in knowledge, lived experiences, and erudition while utilizing the advent of technology as our means of communication. An effective communicator requires a cordial person to relay information, thoughts, or ideas and be an efficient receiver towards other communicators. This progression has revealed how this contemporary world reshapes these individuals with more high-grade communication skills, which are vital foundations for becoming a medium.
