It's odd that in rise Raph is scared to be alone when in the wild alligator snapping turtles like to be alone and tend to show no care for younger turtles.

ROTTMNT HEADCANON

As red-ear slider turtles are prone to escaping their enclosure when kept in small areas I headcanon that Leo would always be escaping or getting away from Splinter. For example, Splinter would turn his back to check on one of the other tots just to turn around and find Leo no where to be seen this leads to a lot of scares and a bunch of pranks from Leo as he got older.

Because soft-shell turtles like to hide underground and use their long necks to reach out and snap at food passing by, I headcanon that Turtle Tot Donnie would hide under blankets or tables when hungry and snap at anyone who got too close. Splinters tail one too many times has come victim to hungry Donnies hiding

a reason why Spilter struggles to tell the turtles apart even though they are different types of turtles, is that rats struggle to see red and colours made of red this along with the fact a rat's eyesight is bad anyway makes it hard for Splinter to tell the turtles apart sometimes
