TRUST ME, I AM JUST AS MAD THAT THIS WON'T LEAVE MY HEAD. BUT This is the beginning of 'Shines from different lights' An absolutely stupid crackship that has ONLY been fed by the Avantris servers writing/Artist channels. It started as a casual plink of an idea of 'oh I bed Shep and Pyke would have some interesting dynamics' and then 'Oh hey hold on Shepherd and Rett would ALSO be interesting' and finally 'Well.... I can't just LEAVE Sarnax behind, that's not COOL' So-- We now will have this absolute pest of a crackfic on my Ao3 account, no it will NOT be overtaking 'Ain't the praying type' [Mh I really am liking the long titles huh] But it will be used as a palate cleanser between chapters/when burnout kicks me down. I will also likely work on it more for the break post book 1 before continuing the series. Yes I am sorry, yes you will see it more on my board[??Said like an idiot who rarely uses tumblr] , no it will not leave my brain so now everyone else has to see it.

I love Combat but all I can imagine is the after affects of the fight, just Sarnax and Shepherd sitting maybe a little to close. Just a little bit to close for it to be 'friendly' not that Sarnax would even know and Shepherd doesn't care, not as long as its Sarnax.

Shepherd just quietly complaining while Sarnax picks the thorns and nettles out of his skin where the small pieces were still embedded, the stubborn tiefling muttering small dramatized 'ow's' with each light pull of thorn. Sarnax knows its not ACTUALLY hurting him, but he looks up each time regardless, mammalians are so much softer then lizardfolk after all. Shepherd does not have the thick hide or claws or teeth of Sarnax, he is softer. But he does, doesn't he? Shepherd has claws, he just files him down to appear passive and friendly to the humans they pass, the humans they travel with. Shepherd has sharp teeth as well, Sarnax had seen them himself, in the passing small smiles then the sudden grin before the fight when Shepherd was so eager to help, to burn. But just with his claws, Shepherd hides his teeth using his hat or his hands when he's smiling as to not upset anyone's sensibilities. "Sarnax?" The voice of his tiefling companion barely brought him back to the surface of his thoughts, but slowly red eyes looked up and met black. Feeling almost swallowed away when compared to the void within them, slowly Sarnax lowered his eyes back to the task at hand, he must of paused in his thoughts. "Apologies Shepherd, I believe I am just slightly... Tired after the combat of the day." "I was asking if you wan'ed me to patch up your robes." That soft yonan accent, it was warmer then when the tiefling was barking orders or yelling at people in general. The kind of softness reserved for their late night talks, reserved for Sarnax and oh didn't that make an uncomfortable feeling bite his lungs. He had to blink a couple times at the simple request, his hands falling away from Shepherd's surface injuries to carefully remove his robe leaving the underclothes of scratchy burlap apparent. Shepherd had already repaired the plain, brown robes plenty of times, always with red, orange, or yellow thread it was a splash of color that Sarnax was sure his elders would of looked at with disgust. But the lantern beside them flickered almost encouragingly, so Sarnax didn't say anything as the silence once more settled between them no more soft complaints just the soft crackling of Sarnax's holy fire.
