Spanish artist Josan Gonzalez creates images of a dystopian futuristic world where man meets machine. His drawings are intricate and full of detail, and his use of colour on point, along with his incredible imagination.

Graphic Novel Inspiration
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi
A great example of a beautiful story told through simple black and white drawings. Using very little detail and rarely drawing any background, the focus is on the characters’ expressions and the actual story.

Symbols from the divisions of the SS during the Third Reich. The elegance associated with nazi soldiers (dressed by Hugo Boss) contributed towards respect and fear. These can easily be associated with dystopian costumes.

Graphic Novel Inspiration
Blankets by Craig Thompson
Craig Thompson is one of my favourite comic artists because he tells beautiful stories in a majestic way. He is never predictable, framing his pictures always in original ways, switching his style slightly to correspond to the mood, adding incredible detail in every page. Although his drawings are black and white, they manifest all shades of feelings and draw the reader into the story incessantly.
