The arena opening of the arena was always a grand event in Arvor: everyone came out to watch the spectacle: to witness the power of the Ancestors as they protected the innocents and punished the guilty. 

The arena had never once failed them. Since its inception under the rule of their father, they had seen hundreds of traitors die. Only Jaeme Wes had survived, by the grace of the ancestors, and he had proved, since then, to be a loyal subject. 

The ancestors were never wrong. 

“Jaeme, come. Take your seat here, beside me,” Leck offered, gesturing to the empty chair on his left. “Soon it will begin,” He said, a little too eagerly, “Ancestors be praised.”

Second Chances | Leck & Arantha

Aram had gathered all of the leaders to Arvor. The Empress of Velorum Nocate and its soon to be Princess had been stolen from away. This attack would not be taken lightly. Soon, Leck knew, they would discover who had dared to oppose them and that both Caressa and Xia would be returned safely ... but until that time everyone was a suspect. 

This included Arantha Harand. 

She had agreed to the alliance between their houses, but she had, in Leck’s opinion, come dangerously close to crossing the line. She desperately wanted the future Emperor to be born on her planet and had even had her sister go to Aram to ask him, herself, if this would be possible. How could either of them think, for a moment, that Aram’s child would be born anywhere else, but here? Here in the capital of the universe? As though Vaane was a suitable substitute. 

Would Arantha have been desperate enough to steal her sister (and Xia?) away for this purpose? Would she have been stupid enough? Leck wasn’t sure, but until he knew who was behind this, he would not discount her, even if she was now a sister to Aram and, therefore, his own sister. 

“Have you had any news from your sister?” Leck asked her, immediately, upon her arrival. “Do you have any idea who could have done this? Know that we are searching endlessly ... those responsible will suffer greatly for this offense.” He eyed her as he said this. The Quasars had given House Harand a second chance after the sack. 

If Arantha had anything to do with this, there would not be a third.

I def agree that they’ve made up!!!!  Like, Jareth isn’t the kind of guy who could do long w/o feeling like he’s in Leck’s pocket tbh alkdjflkjsdkfj�� I mean, tbh, in an au where Aram had even worse taste in ppl than he does have now and actually liked Jareth, Jareth would drop Leck like a hot potato bc he will always go to the highest spot he can buT as it is, Jareth is Aram’s least favorite ruler…which is…kind of an accomplishment laksdjfkljdsakfljds so he’s all Leck’s hahahaha and he wants Leck to be all his and marry his daughter, dammit!!!!!

Aram hardly heard his brother.  The drums of war were calling and he cared nothing for the fate of the guards.  All he could think was that his Empress was gone.  Striding past Leck, Aram went to their father’s massive obsidian throne and sat himself upon it.  He felt better from this height, the imperial might of his House solidly supporting him; felt as though from here he could witness the Empire entire.  If he but stretched out a hand, his Empire would burn.  And perhaps it would, after all this time, perhaps that was what Velorum Nocate deserved after all House Quasar had striven so very hard to give it - only to be met with dishonest disloyalty.

“The Empress is missing as well,” said Aram.  His voice was the absolute calm of ice, so cold it burned.  “It seems her guards were remotely locked in another room and by the time the doors opened, the Empress had vanished, as had Xia at the same time.  Do you know what this means, brother?  Someone has reached their fingers into my palace; someone has reached into my very palace and snatched away my wife and son!”  

The ice chipped and cracked.  He’d tried hard, so very hard, to maintain peace.  He’d nurtured loyalty and punished its lack.  He’d been generous and even allowed the other planets to keep their pathetic leaders.  What had been the point?  He had only eroded their respect for his House.  “Our father was right.”  Aram’s fist clenched as he bit out the words.  “I have tolerated enough.”

Aram stood.  “These traitors have stolen away the future of House Quasar and made a play for Reva and Vaane, to boot.  I have been a fool, Leck, a fool to offer the olive branch to those undeserving.  I thought that I must foster peace to achieve prosperity.  Now I see my failure.  I swear to you, my brother, if a hair upon Xia or Caressa’s heads have been hurt, I shall unleash my fury upon all Velorum Nocate such as never has been known.  

“Summon Valance and the Zeltrons.  Summon the Cains.  Summons the Harands and the Tomaks.  Hell, summon Dorn Legasi!  Summon anyone and everyone who may have had a hand in this blasphemy and everyone and anyone who may be of help in putting it to rights.  I shall know who has assaulted me from within my own home and I shall peel the flesh from their bones.  Let the Empire tremble!  I shall turn away no longer!”

Leck considered what his brother told him, “This sounds like a plot that would be put into place by Torul Molec,” He said. “Infiltrating the security system because he is too weak and cowardly to take what he wants with force.” Leck hoped that he was right in this assumption: he had hated Torul since they were boys: he would enjoy watching him suffer now. 

It was no secret that Torul disliked the Quasars, even though he publically gave them his loyalty and support. There had been rumors that he was to marry Caressa Harand, before she married Aram instead. Perhaps he thought he would try to take what he thought was his. What a deadly mistake he had made.  

“We shall tolerate no more,” Leck agreed. In truth, he had always thought that his brother had been far too lenient. He had shown mercy and compassion, where Leck would have only shown violence. Leck never voiced this opinions in the past: nor would be voice them now. He would never show such disrespect to Aram, his brother, his emperor, his god. 

Leck understood that while perhaps Aram had not been on the right path before, he was now. Leck could see it in his eyes. The empire would burn. Leck’s lips twitched at the thought, forming a half smile. He would enjoy watching the five worlds bend so fully to his brother’s will. Once this was over, they would be even more powerful than they had been before. 

“We must deal with this as our father would have.” Leck said, following his brother to the throne room. “We will show no mercy.” After this, the thought alone of crossing the Quasars would bring men to their knees. Something like this, must never be allowed to happen again. Our strength is only an illusion if we cannot protect our family. 

“It will be done, my brother,” Leck bowed. He would have them all summoned under pain of death. 

“Ancestors,” He began his prayer, through bloodied teeth, with a calm and reverence that he did not show even to his brother, “Give us the strength to defeat our foes ... and give us the wisdom to seek out those who would betray us, so that we might crush them beneath our heels.”

Perhaps the best thing about the famous scream of “GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” is the way it comes completely out of nowhere. The gif’d shots are sequential (I haven’t skipped a frame), but whereas he’s all calm and chill in the top one he’s a screeching piss-baby in the bottom one.

Also, this is basically a toddler tantrum thrown by a 50,000-year-old man. I’m amazed Seraphi got past the terrible twos, let alone the terrible twenties, the terrible two hundreds, the terrible two thousands, the terrible twenty-thousands, etc., etc.

Lost | Aram & Leck

Leck had destroyed it all: the only thing in Xia’s room that had been safe from his tirade had been the relics from the ancestors which remained safely untouched upon their alter. 

When he had received word that she could not be found anywhere, he punished the guards for their incompetence. Where could she have gone when it was their only task to keep her under their watchful eye at all times? How could they have lost her? When every inch of the palace and then the entire city had been searched twice over, and no trace of his betrothed had been found, Leck’s rage could not be contained. 

The guards were all dead now. They could have no further place in this world after so great an error. They’d all suffered for it. Leck had regretted killing them as quickly as he had (they did not deserve the sweet release of death!) but he had been brutal and once he had started, he could not stop. 

“Your Highness, the Emperor seeks an audience ... “

Leck turned, slowly to face his brother. His eyes, which moments ago had been filled with rage, did soften at the sight of Aram, but blood was dripping from his hands and mouth. 

He bowed low as Aram entered, “Brother,” He whispered, his voice quiet, calm, respectful - three things he normally was not. 

The calm that had washed over him by his brother’s presence was only a temporary one. He looked around the room, shaking his head in disbelief. “WHO COULD HAVE DONE THIS?” He screamed. “They will spend the rest of their days screaming, wishing they were dead.” He vowed. It had not occurred to him that Xia wanted to leave or that her escape, although she had had aid, had been her own doing. 

“They are all dead,” He said, speaking of the guards who were supposed to keep Xia safe. “They died screaming. The captain I made watch, and in the end, I ate him alive.”

What an interesting match-up!!!! In which we all lose either way!!! ;DD

So, I think that Leck comes out on top of this one. Rob might have an actual dragon, but tbh that’s not much of an advantage since it isn’t a particularly large or strong one. Plus, Leck is smarter than Rob (not a high bar tbh) and more vicious. Leck actively delights in fighting/violence and I feel like he’s also had better training/experience than Rob has had. They are both overly confident in their abilities, too, but I think Rob is even more confident than Leck … and has less to back that up, haha.

What does it say about me that I have literally been agonizing over this question for hours???? 

Okay so – these are my top contenders, but I can’t decide who???? is The Worst™??? 

Leck Quasar - an obvious answer. he’s a horrible person. he’s violent, rash, unbalanced, sadistic, cruel, an actual murderer, bUT he at least is super loyal to his family which, I’m realizing is more than I can say for my next contestant. also, he was literally raised in a cult/was brainwashed since birth like … he hardly had a chance, tbh. 

Rob Barret - so, at first glance, he is NOT as bad as Leck. Like he’s literally risking his life r/n as part of a resistance to fight the evil queen!!!! but that’s about all he’s got going for him and as he stews in his own emotions of feeling held back/inferior to his bros, he’s proven that he will do ANYTHING to get the glory he “deserves” including selling his nephew and murdering his sister-in-law who are the two most important ppl in his brother’s lives and he doesn’t even bat an eye at this. 

Max Monroe - okay so he hasn’t killed anyone, but I can’t think of 1 good thing to say about him???? he’s super manipulative, abusive, toxic, and selfish. the only person he cares even a little bit about is noah and tbh he’d screw him over in a heartbeat if it meant he could gain from it. I don’t think he’s ever done a good thing in his life

Elias Turner - he acts like the perfect gentleman/family man, but he’s literally conducting secret experiments on people in his basement????? and he’s manipulated his own little brother into murdering/kidnapping innocent people??? and his brother is who he cares for most in the entire world, outside of himself?????? 

So yeah??? Who is the worst???? Who knows?? Not me.

So many!!!!!! There’s a lot of them who haven’t ever even tried cooking at all???? And just kinda think food just appears for them??? Like Rowlin Stafford, Leck Quasar, Henrietta Allen, Ward Eastwood, Chase Hawthorne, Max Monroe, Renfry Moran, Cornelius Pembrooke, Lennox Stanford, and Harvey Wilder would all cook terrible meals (if they could be bothered to even try … which I don’t think any of them would be. Except maybe Ward when he’s trying to impress the ladies, but lbr he def thinks that having a five star chef cook a private meal for them is more impressive so …) 

I know that Roran DeGrey and Kara Larsson have both tried cooking and failed terribly (but they both keep trying ~*~thumbs up emoji~*~) 

And then there’s Greg Walker who is definitely super bad at cooking and knows it. So he just makes cereal and heats up frozen burritos to survive.
