In my opinion it's a lot more healthy to be able to own that you dislike someone for petty reasons than to do all kinds of mental gymnastics to make everyone you don't really vibe with out to be a bad person actually

Obviously not expecting a (white) American site to gaf about today so lemme talk a bit more about Windrush Day and the Black British experience:
I feel like the Black British experience is constantly one of work and struggle. Our parents and grandparents lived through colonial and post colonial (using the term lightly) rule just to end up working and serving the imperial core, targeted by the same government that invited them here. A lot of the time its phrased as a choice but in reality what else could they have done? Ts and Cs apply bc for some West African Brits their parents were middle class back home but for me and others our families grew up in poverty in places still recovering from slavery and colonialism.
Britain whitewashes the history of Black immigrants, literally in the sense we're not taught our own history of Black people in Britain and metaphorically by applying British individualist myths; that as long as you work hard, don't complain about it and love Britain you can be British too. But it erases, ignores and distorts the truth that the British state used our community as nothing more than a labour force to rebuild after WWII and actively targeted Black British communities with police surveillance, brutality and systemic racism. All whilst denying it of course and turning their nose up at the very accusation. Very British.
Black British contributions, West African and West Indian to be more specific don't just apply in terms of work but in terms of shaping culture. 'Roadman' has become a meme and a caricature (including by some Americans on here ik u lot love 'chav') with barely any connection to its Black British roots, even when the term gets used as an insult to mainly Black working class men or used as a British version of 'thug'. The grime scene is undeniably a staple of Black Britain yet it is pathologised and judged, moral panics about Black people's violence and yet capitalised and profitted off of by non Black Brits as an aesthetic. Everybody wants the tracksuits, the tunes and the terminology innit. To be 'road' means to be Black British yet when its time to talk culture, nobody wants to credit it us. All of a sudden its 'London culture'.
But it isn't all doom and gloom. There's so much history and culture here in our spaces. I'd be lying if I said growing up where I did was easy. But it has shaped my outlook and made me and I'll carry that with me forever. Our grandparents and parents came here with so little and made so much out of nothing. And I'll always honour that. Justice for the Windrush generation.

Nadin’s Hope: A Mother, A Memory, A Future
Hello, my name is Nadin I’m from Gaza. I’m a graphic design graduate. I’m a wife. And now — I’m a mother.
I finished my design studies just before the war began. I had dreams of starting a small design studio, of making art that told stories. I used to think about colors, fonts, sketches. I used to think about the future.
Then the war came. And the future became something we tried to hold onto, moment by moment.
On October 22, 2023, I was pregnant when a missile destroyed my husband’s family home. 25 members of our family were killed — his mother, his siblings, his nieces and nephews, children. Entire branches of a family tree gone in seconds.
We were displaced twice after that. Everything we had disappeared — home, safety, routine, rest.
A few weeks later, I gave birth to our daughter. There was no crib. No stillness. No celebration.
But she came into the world quietly and beautifully. And in her eyes, I saw something I hadn’t felt in weeks: life that still wanted to grow.

Now, I spend my days holding her and trying to build a world around her that doesn’t shake with explosions.
We don’t know what comes next. There is no clear path. We are walking toward the unknown, step by step — with our daughter in our arms and hope as our guide.
🧡 How You Can Help
This is why I’m asking for support. Not for comfort — but for survival. To help care for one baby girl who entered the world after everything else collapsed.
If you can spare anything, it will help us:
Cover basic needs, so we can breathe and heal
Support a path toward even the smallest stability in a place that has none
My husband manages the donations securely through a U.S.-registered Stripe account. Everything is converted to USDT and exchanged here in Gaza. The rates are difficult — $100 becomes only 245 shekels — but we use every shekel carefully, with full transparency and documentation.
🎨 Sharing a Piece of Me
I want to share more than my need. Over the next few weeks, I’ll begin posting some of my graphic designs from before the war. They are pieces of who I was — and who I still am.
They may not be perfect, but they hold something real: my story before the silence, and my belief that beauty can still live alongside survival.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you. If you can give — thank you. And if you can’t, just sharing this post is a form of support I will never forget

My son Ahmed is a heart patient and has holes in his heart. New tests were conducted on him, which showed that he was suffering from a problem with his eyes, and that there was damage to the nerves in his eyes as a result of his admission to the nursery and his exposure to oxygen. He needs urgent surgery, and unfortunately its costs are high and we do not have the money because of the Gaza war. We need your
We need your help. The situation is very difficult. You are our last hope. Food, clothes, milk, rent, everything has become very expensive. My son Ahmed needs heart surgery and eye surgery. Save my son so he can complete his treatment and undergo the operation. In addition to my family in Gaza, my father, mother, brothers and sisters are living in very difficult conditions as a result of the war and continuous bombing. We hope you will help by donating and sharing the post 🙏

My name is Fatima, a 21-year-old woman🤰.Just one month before the war, I was engaged, dreaming of a warm home and a small family. But the war tore us apart—my fiancé and I were separated between northern and southern Gaza, with no way to communicate💔.
Despite the pain, we held on to hope. Months later, I left my family and joined him.We got married, believing it was the start of a new life. But the bombing returned, and we were displaced again… Now we live in a fragile tent in western Gaza, awaiting the birth of our first child amid conditions unfit for life🥹😭.
I’m pregnant🤰, and my due date is near🥹. I have none of the essentials I need as a mother or even as a human being🙏.We lack everything: medical care, food, clean water, and basic supplies for childbirth and the baby🥲.
I’m not asking for the impossible—just enough to protect my life and my baby’s

⚠️Please Help my children ‼️
✅️Vetted by @gazavetters, my number verified on the list is ( #641 )✅️
Please donate and share
Hello friends, I am Abdullah Salem Abdullah Jaafar, 26 years old, a graduate of the University College with a degree in Information Technology - Multimedia. I used to have a beautiful family; I’m married and have four children, and my wife is pregnant.
I previously worked at a multimedia company, but because of the war, I lost my job, my home, my car, and now I have no place to live or work.
During the war, we were forced to evacuate more than four times. Each time, we had to leave everything behind without taking any of our personal belongings.
I live in northern Gaza.
We were displaced to southern Gaza, then to Deir al-Balah, then to Rafah, and now we live in an uninhabitable tent that is not suitable for living.
My daughter Rahaf was martyred in the war due to Israeli airstrikes. Now I have Iman, Malak, Basel, and my wife is in her seventh month of pregnancy.
Please, I am in desperate need of your help just to provide food and water for my children.
I lost my home and we have become homeless."
Please donate and share

GIVE ME A CHARACTER;
and I’ll break their ass down:
How I feel about this character
All the people I ship romantically with this character
My non-romantic OTP for this character
My unpopular opinion about this character
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

THE ENTIRE WEST IS BEING PUT UP FOR SALE AND I AM BEGGING YOU TO CALL YOUR SENATORS
Tumblr media
Trump’s budget bill has many, many things in it, but buried amongst it is the MILLIONS OF ACRES OF PUBLIC LAND FOR SALE.
This is the entirety of the Arizona state forests, the entire Cascades mountain range. Swathes of pristine desert around the national parks in Utah. On the doorstep of Jackson Hole.
THIS BILL IS BIG, BUT IT CAN BE AMENDED AND ABSOLUTELY MUST NOT PASS AS IS please.
If you have ever enjoyed the wilderness, we stand to lose it all forever.
CALLING your senators - NOT JUST IN THE WEST. ALL SENATORS, is CRUCIAL.
Outdoor alliance has a great resource for reaching out.
I don’t have a huge following but please, everywhere I have ever loved, the forests I grew up playing in, the land I got married on, is all at risk and I am begging.

Rebuilding What Was Erased – A Message from Abedmajed in Gaza
My name is Abedmajed, and I live in Gaza with what remains of my once large and loving family.
In a single missile strike, we lost over 25 members of our family. They were not just names. They were mothers, daughters, sons, grandparents — people we shared meals with, laughed with, and built dreams with.
The missile hit our family home — the heart of everything we knew.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Among those killed were: 🕊️ My mother 🕊️ My sister 🕊️ My older brother His wife and their three daughters 🕊️ My uncle, his wife, and all their sons and grandchildren
We were left with nothing but rubble and grief. Yet somehow, my brother and I survived. And now, we carry the responsibility of rebuilding what was taken — not just for ourselves, but for our father, our surviving siblings, and the memory of those we lost.
💔 Why We’re Fundraising
This campaign is not just about survival. It’s about rebuilding a future — A family home, a shared life, a place where our father can rest safely, Where the next generation of our family can grow up knowing peace instead of trauma.
💬 The funds raised will help us:
🏗️ Rebuild our family home — which was completely destroyed 🛠️ Provide basic support for our father and siblings 🏡 Create safe, livable conditions for a family shattered by loss
🔒 How the Funds Are Managed
Due to the collapse of Gaza’s financial system, all donations are processed through my brother, who has a U.S. registered Stripe account. Funds are securely transferred to Gaza and distributed in cash here on the ground. We are transparent and ready to provide proof of every step.
🌱 Why Your Support Matters
We are not asking for charity. We’re asking for a chance to stand again, To rebuild something we can pass on to the children who survived.
Vetted By @gazavetters No:537
Your support gives us the strength not just to remember the ones we lost — but to honor them by continuing.
💬 If you can’t donate, a reblog means the world. 🕊️ From Gaza, with hope and dignity — thank you.

yo uhh someone on twitter posted a random comic panel of yours? No idea what its from, but the context is a lesbian telling a demisexual dude to fuck off bc hes fake, and ngl, i am so curious about it.
Hi, I made that comic 4+ years ago and it was an unfinished piece meant to address aphobia in the LGBT+ community, but actual aphobes started reposting it claiming I just hate lesbians which is untrue. It turned into a harassment campaign so I deleted it and no longer speak on LGBT+ issues because having my art misconstrued to serve the discrimination I was trying to raise awareness for was deeply hurtful. Can you message me the twitter handle so I can look into this please?

Israel has bombed the last remaining main fibre-optic route, thereby cutting off the majority of the Gaza Strip from having an internet access. Right now only those who have esims, will be able to come online and that too only for a limited amount of time. The updates coming in from Gaza now is going to be sparser, so I encourage everyone to diligently keep an eye out on updates. Also please keep circulating and donating to personal fundraisers. It has been two days since I last spoke to me friend, the journalist, Siraj Abudayeh ( @siraj0 ). The last time we spoke his primary concern was if he would be able to afford even a single bag of flour to feed all the twenty three members of his family. I would request you to not forget about him, and of other Gazan families who have been using social media as a primary tool to survive through this genocide. It is very important, that in a situation like this, we who have access to the Internet and hence to the whole wide world, keep boosting and campaigning for the fundraisers.
Donate to Siraj Abudayeh
Donate to crips for esims for Gaza

Valuable information for those new to protesting or who are more experienced and need a refresher.
Also, covid is not over. I cannot emphasize this enough. If you're physically able and they are accessible to you, make sure you properly mask.
