It didn't go well, now he deals with a plethora of difficult mental issues. He lost all of his early adulthood recovering and working for OW as payment (simplifying) and he feels like he missed out on everything. Especially socially. He sees himself as broken and undesirable. He's awkward, extremely inexperienced, and overemotional.

Neither of them can fathom the idea that they're actually wanted. Not just that, but adored. They feel like normal people, doing normal things together. And their partners understand!!
