Can people please stop talking shit on Nii-sensei and complaining about other characters getting attention and backstories? Like, it’s my favorite thing when an MC isn’t the only character that matters in a story. It makes the world-building that much more immersive and interesting.

And also, most of the other characters’ relationships and backstories in Wind Breaker have a special significance to Sakura’s growth as a character too. So, like, he is getting attention even when it’s not direct. Some people just get so fixated on the surface level that they can’t seem to look any deeper, and it’s really disrespectful to the author when they act like Sakura gets no focus whenever he not only is involved in every part of the story on some level but is always out there actively bringing everyone together throughout the story.

No, we don’t know much about his past yet. Yet. Because he’s the main character, and we need to build up to that. He still has a lot of growth to do before he can feel comfortable sharing that part of himself with others. It would be weird if the story jumped straight into his super personal trauma so early on. And before the other characters too? Nah. Sakura needs to hear/experience others’ stories and struggles first. He needs to help them before he can realize that it’s okay to share his own trauma and seek help himself.

But the story needs to build up to that point.

Which means we gotta be patient for Sakura’s backstory. This is a story about his growth and his healing and finding a place of belonging. If everything fell into place right away, the story would be over.

So just enjoy the story as it is? Like, it’s a super well-written series with really great character relationships. And Sakura is at the center of it all, in one way or another. As is, the story still has a long way to go. Please stop trying to rush it to its end and just trust that Nii-sensei will give us what we want in due time.

I really loved this arc a whole lot, but boy am I glad it’s done!! Please, Satoru Nii, please give us more background on Sakura and PLEASE GIVE US SUO’S BACKSTORY!!!! 😭 I’m begging for it.

Good for Endo even though I still don’t like him and have NOT forgiven him for what he did to Sakura!

Wind Breaker chapter 156 spoilers!!!

I was a little worried I wouldn’t get the time to read/post today since SO much has happened in my life this week! I found out I’m pregnant (this is a good thing! My husband and I are v happy), I got a promotion at my corporate job that I don’t like and I have three concerts I’m going to this week!

All of that to say, I’m grateful for this chapter to have arrived when it did and that I had the time to read it!

On to my thoughts!

I loved this! We get to see Umemiya’s thought process a bit more and it’s not like he’s just suddenly putting the blame on his own shoulders. Instead, to me, it’s like he realized that Takiishi didn’t want to leave Furin, but Umemiya had outgrown him - without getting to know him.

I want to make it clear though that Takiishi’s behavior is super toxic and I don’t think that responsibility should fall onto Umemiya AT ALL. But I understand him a bit better after this chapter.

Umemiya was so full of rage in the previous chapters that he hadn’t really noticed Sakura there at all. And now that his mind is clear, he’s able to fight for him instead of fighting angry which is much more his style.

I also love that he acknowledged that Sakura being there meant he beat Endo !!! Which yes!!! I’m always excited when my baby gets the recognition he deserves. Umemiya never let’s me down!

THANK GOD I THINK THIS FIGHT IS FINALLY ENDING!

Goodness, I felt like we’ve been in the last inning of a baseball game with two outs and two strikes foreverrrr

Not that I didn’t enjoy every minute, just that it really, really makes me happy to know that since this fight seems to be reaching its end - we’ll get post Noroshi War arc which will hopefully have lots of fluff.

Sheesh - he’s so fine! I actually really love the way that Satoru Nii did this scene! I had theories that Ume would love control and Sakura would have to get involved - but I wasn’t sure how he would since there was no way Takiishi and Endo would let him intervene.

WindBre Chapter 154 Spoilers!

I’m so ready for this fight to be over so Umemiya doesn’t have to feel so burdened anymore 😭

I HATE seeing Sakura so concerned over them! Takiishi isn’t worth worrying over. I’m worried about Umemiya and what Satoru Nii has in store! I’m assuming that Sakura is going to have to get involved soon - but Endo wouldn’t allow that so I’m not sure how that will play out tbh.

Endo is such a little psycho I love it but also I don’t??? Like he’s just there yapping and now crying tears of joy and Sakura is having a panic attack watching his leader fight a brutal fight.

WHAT AN ENDING

Takiishi is so crazy and I have to say, I LOVE a crazy villain!!

But am I the only one who is ready for this fight/arc to finish up? As someone who reads a lot of sports manga, I feel like it’s one of those never-ending, 50 chapter games and there’s still 5 innings to go 😭

I just wand Umemiya to be okay and for Sakura to escape Endo and reunite with the rest of his class.
