Hundreds of Jewish anti-war demonstrators have been arrested during a Passover seder that doubled as a protest in New York, as they shut down a major thoroughfare to pray for a ceasefire and urge the Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, to end US military aid to Israel.

The 300 or so arrests took place on Tuesday night at Grand Army Plaza, on the doorstep of Schumer’s Brooklyn residence, where thousands of mostly Jewish New Yorkers gathered for the seder, a ritual that marked the second night of the holiday celebrated as a festival of freedom by Jews worldwide.

The seder came just before the US Senate resoundingly passed a military package that includes $26bn for Israel.

"That's Betty Mae! This is incredible!" The idoit is obviously catching on.

"Finally, since you have a wife, logically I can assume that you are heterosexual," said the professor.

"You're absolutely right! Why that's the most fascinatin' thing I ever heard! I can't wait to take that logic class!!"

The idiot, proud of the new world opening up to him, walks back into the hallway, where his friend is still waiting.

"So what classes are ya takin'?" asks the friend.

"Math, History, and Logic!" he replies.

"What in tarnation is logic???" asked his friend.

I love this app

Note for writers: I don’t remember the last angsty or dramatic moment in a work that punched me in the gut as hard as Katara and Aang penguin sledding and Katara going “I haven’t done this since I was a kid!” And Aang answering, “you still are a kid!”

It doesn’t take a big dramatic scene to explore the ways a character’s trauma has affected them. You can do it in a single lighthearted line. And it can be just as if not more effective.

There’s a weird new internet thing that I am conVINCED was started by neurodivergent people despite having no real proof and that is seeing something you like and describing the weird stim you want to do to express your affection.

“I wanna put them in a jar and shake them”

“I just wanna put them in my mouth and chew on them for a bit”

“I wanna repeatedly throw them at the wall and catch them as they bounce back.”

That’s just stimming. We just wanna stim out our affection in somewhat questionable ways and I know for a fact we’ve always had that instinct. I love that we’ve started putting it into words.

My mom really wanted me to be straight so she encouraged me not to label my sexual or romantic orientation until I had more male friendships and I think she was onto something because the closer I get with men, the more sure I become that I’m not attracted to men.
