5.17.25 - 5.18.2
- this has been a very productive weekend for me! I studied for a majority of the day on Saturday and really focused on nailing down the question types I’ve been working on so far (Main Conclusion, Most Strongly Supported, and Point at Issue). Then I studied for a few hours today before going out for my Dad’s birthday
- I felt intellectually stimulated and engaged for the first time in a while which was a great feeling. I did a LOT of drills which I’m starting to find kind of fun lol
- I am really struggling with most strongly supported questions which is definitely frustrating. But I’ve been trying to go easy on myself and working on first getting through easier MSS questions to get more comfortable with them.
- I think before moving on to the next question types I’ve, I’m just going to keep drilling until I’m getting few (if any) questions wrong and feel more confident.
- also, kind of a side note, but I’ve been thinking about maybe starting a YouTube channel where I talk about all things LSAT, preparing for law school, film study vlogs, and maybe even do commentary about legal issues that interest me! Eventually when I get to law school I’d also love to document what that’s like too. I’d love to go more in-depth about what I’ve learned preparing for law school and show a realistic portrayal of what that looks like. If anyone has any topics they’d like to see me cover on that channel I’d love to hear from you!
- that is all for this weekend, thanks for reading and coming along with me on this journey! I hope everyone has a great rest of their day!

hey sorry if this is weird but i'm also taking the june test. i don't have any friends who are studying for the lsat and thought it might be helpful to keep in touch/do practice qs together if u want? im a 25 yo girl btw. I've been PTing btwn 168-171 for about a month now.
Hey thanks for the message! I’d love to connect and keep in touch over the LSAT! I also have no one irl to talk to about this 😭 so it’d be great to have an online study buddy. Also omg you need to teach me how to score that high lol. I am taking the August test so I hope to reach scores like that by then, but yeah I’m definitely down to chat more about this!!

- studied for a bit today and worked on most strongly supported questions. I used to struggle with these kinds of questions but it definitely got easier going through examples and utilizing grammar parsing to help me better understand the language being used
- 7Sage also showed me a motivational video from a law student who underperformed on her first LSAT and kind of gave up studying for a while and felt demoralized. That reminded me a lot of my situation; I went through a period where I thought I could never get to the score I want so I just gave up studying. But like the student in the video, I’m glad I started up again and I do have confidence that I can master the LSAT. If she could get to her goal score so can I
- I won’t be studying tomorrow as I’m going out after work, so I’ll see you all on Friday with another study update :3

- studied for a couple hours after work today! I wish I could study more but I have such a limited time frame on the weekdays cuz I work 9-6 🙃
- but I started transitioning from main point/main conclusion questions to fill in the blank most strongly supported questions! It was a bit difficult at first, but it started to click into place thanks to the video instructions. I’m definitely a auditory/visual learner
- it also definitely helps to have a video lesson, and then immediately applying what I learned in a question or drill
- now I’m about to go watch legally blonde for the hundredth time for inspiration 😂 see you all tomorrow!

- had a very productive study day today at the local library! I really love 7Sage; I did a bunch of lessons on main point questions which I kinda love cuz I’m good at them haha. I did some drills too and only got one question wrong!
- it was such a confidence boost and I love the feeling of actually understanding what I’m doing. I knew why wrong answers were wrong, and I was speeding through the problems without second guessing myself.
- I’m looking forward to studying more this week!

- Ok I may have lied when I said I was gonna start studying again last weekend lol. I’ve been a little busy and it’s been hard to find time.
- BUT! Today I began studying for the LSAT again. It was a short study day as I only had a couple hours after work to devote to studying, but I’m ready to make this a habit again.
- I heard great things about the 7Sage study resource so I bought the subscription for that. So far I really like the approach it takes. I’ve been reviewing the basics of logical reasoning, and 7Sage has this great cheat sheet that covers all the different types of LR questions, how to approach them, and what to look for in an answer
- I’m also feeling better about approaching the LSAT this time around because I believe I’ll be approved for accommodations, which should help me greatly as I kind of suck at being under time constraints.
- A mistake I made when I approached the LSAT for the first time last year was not taking enough practice tests before hand. I thought I could get all I needed from workbooks, but I would definitely recommend doing both at the same time. I read so much information about LR and RC but didn’t apply it as much as I should’ve, and I think that was a mistake.
- This time around I feel like I’ll work on taking as many practice tests as I can. I would recommend this to anyone thinking about the LSAT.
- That’s all for today, I’ll be back with another post on Friday!

Hey everyone!
I’ve been in kind of a law school/LSAT slump these past few months, with my work schedule making me too tired to get back into studying. However I’m happy to say I’m feeling motivated and prepared to get back into studying! I also changed my username from @heartsplitopen to @legallyjulia I thought it was more fitting lol.
I’ll be back to posting about my studies and other law school related stuff regularly starting tomorrow (5/3). I have a set schedule to study for the LSAT and work on law school applications six days a week (everyday except Thursday) so you should be seeing more posts those days. Of course things may come up and that schedule might change some weeks, but that’s what I have planned for right now. I want to be consistent with it because I’m serious about improving my LSAT score.
Thank you again everyone that’s been following me on this (arduous) journey even though I kind of fell off the face of the earth lol. I really appreciate all my followers and I hope my academic journey helps inspire others who may be struggling with motivation like I have many times.
Have a great rest of your day and I hope you continue to stick around!!

- I’m back to LSAT studying after a little break. I’ve been mainly focusing on finding a job which I feel like needs to take priority. I’m still waiting to hear back from a few places I’ve interviewed with, and I have a couple interviews tomorrow, so wish me luck!
- I got a new LSAT book to study from called The Loophole in LSAT Logical Reasoning by Ellen Cassidy. I really love it so far. I’ve done the first two chapters, which have mainly been about building a foundation in skills needed to tackle Logical Reasoning questions.
- the first chapter was on translation and cluster sentences, and the second one was on arguments and inferences. It was nice to get a refresher on this.
- I was really disappointed in my November LSAT score. It was my worst score yet. So I feel like I really need to better prepare and only take the LSAT when I’m 100% ready and confident in my skills.
- that’s all for today, hope everyone is having a great day :)

I am so frustrated I feel like I’ve hit a wall when it comes to my LSAT progress. I really want to subscribe to 7Sage and also buy three more LSAT books (LR Perfection, RC Perfection, and The Loophole) but I have no money. I need a job so bad.

- today was a pretty good day. I attended the online student experiences panel for the University of Maryland Carey Law early this afternoon. Hearing from current students was great; the way they described the whole culture of the school and the clinic opportunities really appealed to me
- I also finally finished reading the entirety of my PowerScore Logical Reasoning Bible! It feels good to have gotten through all that; I now feel like I’m ready to put all my focus on practice tests and applying what I’ve learned
- I’ve also come to the decision that I’m going to wait another year before applying to law school. I think this is the smartest/best decision for me. I want to make sure my applications are the best that they can be, and right now I feel like I definitely need more time to ensure that. Plus I plan on hopefully finding a job soon, so the more time I have to save money the better
- also today I got into contact with some professors from my university who said they would write me letters of recommendation just to let them know what’s going on. I heard back from two of them who said they’d still be willing to still write me a letter. I was worried that too much time had passed since I last spoke with them and they would have changed their minds, but I’m glad they’re still willing to write for me
- tomorrow is the day before the LSAT. I will probably take a full practice test and see what my score is looking like. Now that I’m giving myself more time to get my score where I want, I don’t feel too much pressure to do perfectly
- hope everyone’s having a great day!!

Coming to the realization that I may need to take another year off to prepare my law school applications and improve my LSAT score. If my November score isn’t where I want it to be I think waiting another year and spending it studying, working on my applications, and saving up money will be the best option. This is definitely not ideal, I want to go to law school immediately, but I want my applications to be the best they can be. Law school will still be there in 2026.

- well the election turned out horribly. I don’t even have words to get into that right now but let’s just say I had a very difficult time focusing on studying and not doom scrolling on my phone
- I got through four chapters of my PowerScore Logical Reasoning Bible. They were focused on numbers and percentages, evaluate the argument questions, cannot be true questions, and point at issue/point of agreement questions
- I hated the numbers and percentages chapter; I hate anything to do with numbers lol. But I did really like going over point at issue/point of agreement questions because I’m pretty good at figuring those ones out
- There’s only a few more chapters left in the PowerScore Logical Reasoning Bible; once I’m officially done with that, I think I will shift onto just taking practice tests until Saturday. It’s hard for me to do two different study tactics at the same time (taking notes and reading from my books and taking practice exams). I find I’m really only able to devote my attention to one type of studying at a time
- that is all for today, hope everyone in the U.S. like me is doing ok despite the circumstances. If anything this election result has just motivated me even more to succeed in my law school journey and achieve my goal of becoming an advocate for women’s rights and LGBTQ rights. That’s what I want to go into law for and what really drives me. I hope I’ll be able to make a difference in those areas someday

- today was kind of a short study day because I want to go home soon to watch election coverage. I am very nervous about what’s going to happen lol
- I read and took notes on two chapters in my PowerScore Logical Reasoning Bible, one of them on flaw in the reasoning questions and the other on parallel reasoning questions
- I kind of like these two question types, it’s pretty fun to dissect the stimulus and figure out what’s wrong with the argument or what answer choice best parallels the stimulus. Again I really find viewing the questions as puzzles to solve really helps me; I feel more invested and involved which helps me see what the answer is more clearly.
- the November LSAT is this Saturday for me; I’m hoping to complete at least two more practice exams before then. Fingers crossed I can get my score out of the 150s 💀
- this is a pretty stressful week tbh, I’m waiting to hear back from a job that I interviewed with last week, the election is today, and the LSAT is coming up. But I also have this online student experiences panel for the University of Maryland Carey Law coming up which I’m really excited for. It’ll be nice to hear from current students about what that law school is like because I’m very interested in it due to their clinics
- tomorrow I plan on reading one or two more PowerScore chapters and hopefully taking a full practice exam, or at least half of one
- hope everyone has a great rest of their day!

- I couldn’t study for the past couple days because I was actually being social and hanging out with friends (shocker) but I’m back at it again today! I felt refreshed after my break and ready to tackle LSAT problems
- I read and took notes from a chapter in my PowerScore Logical Reasoning Bible which focused on method of reasoning questions
- I struggled a little with the practice problems, but I think I have a good understanding of how to approach these types of problems going forward
- I then took a practice logical reasoning section and did ok; for all the sections I’ve been doing I’ve been getting about the same amount of questions wrong, which is both positive and negative. It’s great that I’m not getting more problems than usual wrong, but I wish I was making more progress at a faster rate since the November LSAT for me is this Saturday
- to manage how overwhelming and boring studying can be sometimes, I’ve been taking more breaks in-between to do stuff I enjoy. It really helps to break up my study sessions this way. Today I read a chapter in a nonfiction book I’ve been reading for fun which was a great palate cleanser
- tomorrow I’ll be back to studying, probably going through the next PowerScore chapter which focuses on flaw in the reasoning questions which I’ve struggled with. hopefully I’ll also be able to take another full or partial practice test
- I also can’t believe the election is tomorrow it’s a little mind-boggling. idk how well I’ll be able to focus on studying with all that going on tbh 😅 but we will see what happens
- hope everyone is having a great day!

- Happy Halloween everyone! Today I worked on completing the LSAT practice exam I started yesterday. I kind of struggled to get through it (LSAT exams are so boring 😑) but I successfully completed it!
- I am so close to breaking into the 160s; my score for this test was a 158. I haven’t been able to get higher than that which is kind of frustrating but I think I’m still making progress.
- hopefully before the November test I’ll have at least one practice test with a score in the 160s
- tomorrow I think I will do some more chapters in my PowerScore books, focusing on question types that I still struggle with (like flaws, deductions and inferences, assumptions, and strengthen and weaken)
- hope everyone is having a great day! I’m definitely excited to eat a lot of leftover candy later 😋
