Oceans are lungs of our planet, providing most of the oxygen that we breathe. They are major source of food and medicine and a critical part of the biosphere. If we want to stay healthy, we need to keep our oceans healthy. The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from nature. For instance, each year, marine plants produce more than a half of our atmosphere's oxygen, and a mature tree cleans our air, absorbing 22 kilos of carbon dioxide, releasing oxygen in exchange. Despite all the benefits that our nature give us, we still mistreat it.That is why we need to work on that. That is why we need this Observance. World Environment Day, hosted by Colombia this 2020, is the most renowned day for environmental action. Since 1974, it has been celebrated every year on 5 June: engaging governments, businesses, celebrities and citizens to focus their efforts on a pressing environmental issue. This year, the theme is biodiversity – a concern that is both urgent and existential. Recent events, from bushfires in Brazil, the United States, and Australia to locust infestations across East Africa – and now, a global disease pandemic – demonstrate the interdependence of humans and the webs of life, in which they exist. But, do we really know its importance? Biodiversity is the foundation that supports all life on land and below water. It affects every aspect of human health, providing clean air and water, nutritious foods, scientific understanding and medicine sources, natural disease resistance, and climate change mitigation. Changing, or removing one element of this web affects the entire life system and can produce negative consequences. Human actions, including deforestation, encroachment on wildlife habitats, intensified agriculture, and acceleration of climate change, have pushed nature beyond its limit. It would take 1.6 Earths to meet the demands that humans make of nature each year. If we continue on this path, biodiversity loss will have severe implications for humanity, including the collapse of food and health systems. The emergence of COVID-19 has underscored the fact that, when we destroy biodiversity, we destroy the system that supports human life. About 75% of all emerging infectious diseases in humans are transmitted to people by animals. Nature is sending us a message. #worldenvironmentday #nature https://www.instagram.com/p/CBCliH6HuXS/?igshid=168rd92eqy3uk

Acknowledging the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for two centuries, and that it is a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation, fostering environmental stewardship and health, the General Assembly decided to declare 3 June World Bicycle Day. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), safe infrastructure for walking and cycling is also a pathway for achieving greater health equity. For the poorest urban sector, who often cannot afford private vehicles, walking and cycling can provide a form of transport while reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke, certain cancers, diabetes, and even death. Accordingly, improved active transport is not only healthy; it is also equitable and cost-effective. The bicycle is a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation; The bicycle can serve as a tool for development and as a means not just of transportation but also of access to education, health care and sport; The synergy between the bicycle and the user fosters creativity and social engagement and gives the user an immediate awareness of the local environment; The bicycle is a symbol of sustainable transportation and conveys a positive message to foster sustainable consumption and production, and has a positive impact on climate. #worldbicycleday #cycling #bicycle #bicycling #bicyclelife https://www.instagram.com/p/CA9i5eonE3q/?igshid=1i9k1t5ujlnzx

Twenty years ago, World Milk Day was established by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN to recognize the importance of milk as a global food, and to celebrate the dairy sector. Each year since, the benefits of milk and dairy products have been actively promoted around the world, including how dairy supports the livelihoods of one billion people. This year, in light of the global pandemic of COVID-19, we encourage organizers to host social media campaigns or online events to abide by the policies put in place by the WHO and our Indian government. *Some benefits of the milk* - Packed with nutrients like Protein, Calcium, Vitamin D, A, E and B12, Riboflavin (B2), Potassium, Magnesium, Zinc, Phosphorus, Thiamine and Selenium. Beneficial for bone health. Milk in daily diet prevents disease like osteoporosis and fractures. Milk lowers the risk of obesity. High levels of dietary calcium promote fat breakdown and inhibit fat absorption in the body. Also, its high-protein content helps you feel full for a longer period of time, which may prevent overeating. #happyworldmilkday #stayhealthy #staystrong https://www.instagram.com/p/CA4TgRcndvb/?igshid=3gpnbdh4ecrw
