Finished Lelei a little while back, I was originally live streaming the WIP process but due to time constrictions, I was not able to continue doing it. It was up to me to make a base, so I decided to go with a somewhat simple base where she is magically holding all these swords around her ready to throw them at the Dragon on Episode 17. Another commission finished! 😁 This is Charagumi's Shantae, it was an original kit. Now, I've always had a lot of things to say about this charagumin line from Volks, so since I've been a little too cheap to buy an original charagumin just for an editorial/wip video, I took the chance to film the process of the painting of this kit when it dropped on my lap. Video will follow the skintone tutorial (part 1) as it will give me the opportunity to continue editing the rest of the material I have. For now, please enjoy the finished product! Doing some work with Lelei La Lalena from Gate. It's been a tedious work so far, the cast is not that great, but the sculptor kinda fucked up how he divided the kit, both front and back floating robe pieces have extremely thin connections, you can barely fit a pin that can hold the weight of said pieces so I had to do a little bit of modding so that they can stay in place. The dress part was also divided in 2 so I had to unify them but then I noticed that oversanding messed up the details on one of the sides, so on top of connecting both pieces, I also had to so some resculpting on the creases on her thigh. The hair is also messed up, a lot of small resin trash from the molds that I have to sand down and to make matters worse, the damn head piece rolled off of my desk because my damn floor is slightly slanted so yeah, a few of the hair strands will need to be resculpted because I just couldn't find the pieces on the floor with so much crap from sanding and puttying 😑 The staff was made of resin but it was so thin that when I would attach the top part, it would bend so I said FUCK IT! And exchanged it for a metal rod. Finally, after probably 2 years, I finish a personal kit. I actually started to work on her along with the other group order I had with her but I was feeling bad for focusing a little time on a personal kit and decided to not work in her at the same pace as the others 😔 so I've been working on her on and off for over a year... Commission guilt is a thing, guys. Still , I'm happy this is the last time (hopefully) that I paint this particular kit.
