Isamu was a special child from an early age, not only because he was born into a family of descendants of the Kitsune clan, but also because he saw various spirits and evil spirits that greatly disturbed and frightened the young warrior.

At first, they were quite harmless and the child played with them, but with each passing time, the evil spirits crept closer and closer to Isamu's young mind, leading to the first signs of paranoia and anxiety.

And when the evil spirits started talking, every day was a living hell for Isamu. He constantly heard the monster's whispers, which terrified the young child. He especially heard the voices in the hall on the first floor of his house, where the clan's family portraits hung. It was filled with cries for help, incoherent sounds, and other phrases that Isamu constantly heard.

Every time Isamu approached the hall, he heard a phrase that he had firmly memorized: "don't look back."

However, one day, he disobeyed and turned around to the doorway and saw something he shouldn't have seen.... If before, Isamu had seen a formless mass of evil spirits, then in front of him stood the silhouette of that evil spirit, and the most terrifying thing..... it was smiling

When Isamu was 6 years old, Azumi's sister, Azemi, died under strange circumstances in the Kondo clan (Isamu's mother's clan). This was an unexpected event for the mother's family, and they mourned their second daughter for a long time, especially the head of the family.

The mourning lasted several weeks, and distant relatives and friends of the Kondo clan from all over Japan sent their sincere condolences. Two months after his sister's death, Azumi seemed to have been replaced: she was quieter than usual, constantly lashing out at her subordinates, and most importantly for Isamu, she completely rejected and became cold towards him.

Isamu tried his best to cheer his mother up and establish a connection with her, but all he saw in her eyes was emptiness and a reflection of his own sad face. One day, something happened that had never happened in their relationship with his mother - she slapped him for simply wanting to hug her.

From that moment on, he realized that no one in his family needed or loved him anymore. The last bit of love and warmth died on the same day as his aunt.

He still wonders, "What did I do wrong?"

A little background to this art, to understand the title:

Isamu, due to constant training and studies, practically never went anywhere with his parents, and even less so with his peers, to festivals dedicated to various holidays since childhood. And after the death of a close family member, so even more so they forgot about it.

One winter day, secretly from his father, Isamu ran away from home to meet his only friend and neighbor - Aki. Noticing him, she casually asked if he would go to the festival in honor of the first snow. Aki was surprised to learn that Isamu had never been to a festival in his life.

Taking Isamu's small hands in hers, Aki led him to the festival to fully enjoy the fun and anticipation of the upcoming long winter holidays. After a while, the first snowflakes began to fall. Aki noticed this and gently tugged Isamu's hand to look up at the evening sky. He had always loved winter, but he spent most of his time watching the snowflakes fall alone.

Therefore, for him, this was the beginning of a small tradition: to meet the first snowfall together with Aki. Isamu remembered this moment forever in his heart, and during the cold evenings when he was alone, he would occasionally replay a fragment of his life with a sense of awe and faith that he was not alone...that he had a friend...

A small clarification: at the very beginning of the comic, the action takes place in a dream, and Isamu's mother is just a projection of an image from his childhood. Only I know what Isamu should remember;)
