Doctor Who is a great fandom to be in on tumblr because you'll see spoilers everywhere but not a single one of them is coherent unless you've seen the episode anyway. like oh the glorbon is secretly trying to ensnare humanity in a giant crab trap? the new companion Jiminy Pubble turned out to be the latest regeneration of the Doctor's old enemy The Fuckwizard? thanks I know less than I did before

What is even point of bringing back a classic villain if he is going to be depictied completely differently? Omega in the classic series' WHOLE SHTICK was that he was turned into antimatter inside a black hole and just wanted to return to our universe, but physically couldn't. He wasn't the Time Lords' "original sin" or "imprisoned." He didn't even have a physical body left, he was just sheer force of will. Not some desicated corpse-looking MFer. So RTD just created a new monster but slapped a classic series name onto it for brand recognition/shock value. Which is just going to confuse the "new fans" this reboot is supposedly trying to attract, and piss off the old fans.

Chinbnall's era was marked with good ideas, poorly executed. Chibnall seemed unable to focus on the concepts he'd come up with and just keep throwing spaghetti to the wall. The RTD2 era, by contrast, keeps having ideas that stop JUST SHORT of being good. And it's just so FRUSTRATING because you watch it and think "you were SO CLOSE." There's nothing wrong with bringing Omega back. But he could have actually DONE something with the "exile wanting to come home" idea. He could even have had Peter Davison make a surprise cameo since the last we saw of Omega he had tried to return inside a cloned body of the Fifth Doctor! Think of how awesome that would have been, the Doctor matching wits against one of his old faces, instead of ghostbusting a CGI monster.

Also, I have no problem with the idea of the Doctor regenerating into a companion's face. It could be a good concept, but it's the companion he got romantic with. RTD's original Mary Sue character, who he gave his own birth date to. I was never a fan of that ship to begin with but it retroactively adds an extra level of creepitude to it. Feels less like love and more like "I want to wear your skin."

I AM interested to see Billie Piper play the Doctor. I'm excited to see the Doctor be a woman again, and we know Piper can act. But after Davies never really bothered to explain why the Doctor returned to his Ten face with any satisfactory answer, I'm not counting on him having a satisfying answer to why the Doctor would take Rose's face.

I am spoiling the live action Lilo & Stitch. And I am doing it up front and plainly.

Do not fucking see this movie. Do not waste your money on this. Period.

They made Nani give Lilo up to the American government. They made Nani LEAVE Hawaii and pursue being a marine biologist. They made a native Hawaiian character give up her sibling to pursue a dream that she originally did not have. This is imperialist propaganda at its FINEST.

The original fucking movie is about family staying together. It's about indigenous people being able to stay with each other and stay in their home and be together! That's the whole fucking point! Nani is Lilo's last living relative on her homeland—it is jarring, it is disgusting and disturbing that Nani would not only leave her last blood relative alone, give her up to the very government that is harming native Hawaiians TODAY, but also travel to the "mainland" for her dream!

Not to mention, Nani's actress isn't fucking Hawaiian. She's much paler in photos and real life. They fucking darkened her for this movie.

Don't even get me started on the transgender subtext of Pleakley's "human" disguise from the original movie being completely erased in favor of him being played by a regular ass white man. Jumba doesn't have his accent, they made him more villainous, and his "human" disguise is a non-fat white man—which part of his original joke, I know, is that he was bigger and was more clumsy in the movie because of his size, but to have the main shape of his character completely removed is also fucking weird.

This live action movie is a desecration to the original. I encourage you to not see it, please. Don't give Disney any of your money on this one. Just watch the original. Please just watch the original.

The new message in the live action movie is disturbing and gross.
