far be it from me to downplay the emotional complexity of robert and aaron’s relationship at the moment because i do think about it on an hourly basis but like…… this is foreplay to them. they’ve been through this countless times. aaron would say “i hate you, never talk to me again” and then 24 hours later rob would follow him at the back of the pub, they’d have words and they’d get back at it.

the leaning in and pulling away has always been a part of their relationship. it’s what made it exciting! like, aaron was ready to move on with alex up until the point robert told him he’d let him go and then he turned into a menace!!!! they are just as bad as each other!!!!

when aaron says “leave and don’t come back” of course robert’s going to be sad and hurt, but then his lizard brain kicks in and he’s like “wait…. this is a challenge. HE is telling ME to do something about it” because that’s how it’s always been between them!!!!

the loaded looks at the mill, the eyebrow raise in the pub, the whispered “are you okay”s, the “i’m pointedly not looking at you but i am very much aware you are leaving with another bloke” strut…. THEY ARE FLIRTING!!!! aaron literally TOLD HIM it’s only a matter of time before they jump each other’s bones, they both know where this is going!!! they are dancing around each other, daring each other to see who breaks first!!!!!

Weird to say I'm almost privileged living in Australia and being an Emmerdale fan cause I get to watch the 7am release as it's 4pm my time. I will continue to endeavour to not say spoilers until the next day!
