This is meant to be an ask blog about my OCs (though I still post a lot of art of my OCs that isnt related to any asks). If you want to see my more polished art, or just more variety, my main is @lettuce53 . I also have a TikTok, also under @lettuceslugart, where I post speedpaints and occasional Oc content that isn’t posted elsewhere.

If you want an in character response to an ask, please start the ask with ‘hey [character name(s)]’ or something similar, so that I know which character(s) you want a response from (if you have a particular character in mind). Responses will probably be in character by default unless you specify that you want me to respond as myself (you could start those asks off with ‘hey lettuce’ or something along those lines). Drawing requests are okay; most responses will probably be in drawing form.

These OCs are all from a hypothetical series called creepy crawlies, this is a magical girl story.

For clarity:

Dark blue arrows(eye symbol) indicates that the character knows that both forms(transformed magical girl and detransformed) of the character the arrow is pointed at are the same person (when applicable).

Yellow arrows (divided circle symbol) indicates that the characters connected by that arrow are partners as magical girls, meaning that they and their pendants(transformation devices) have a magical connection to each other that and that they work together as magical girls.

Bright red and green(X or check mark with a circle behind it) are feeling towards the magical girl identity the person who the arrow is pointed at. Teal and pink(X or checkmark without a circle behind it) are feelings towards the civilian/detransformed identity of the character who the arrow is pointed at.

Rock pigeon is the only character on this chart that isn’t a magical girl. Blue warbler and MEB are the main villains, tiger moth and swallowtail are the main heros.

A lot of the characters in creepy crawlies are based on bugs. This is just theming, so it shouldn’t be too big of an issue for anyone who doesn’t want to see irl bugs, but I will make sure to use warnings and see more buttons if/when posting photos of bugs(that are commonly seen as gross or scary; ex: worms, caterpillars, spiders) to prevent people who don’t want to see pictures of bugs from seeing them. This will also apply to any creature in general that I think some ppl may find gross or be afraid of. This won’t apply to bugs/creatures that are generally more well liked (ex: butterflies, moths, dragonflies) unless someone specifically asks me to start doing the same for those. Feel free to dm me or send an ask if there’s a specific creature/bug that you want me to start censoring.

She’s lactose intolerant, but still consumes a ton of it. She enjoys manga and anime; she mainly likes shoujo (often mahou shoujos/magical girl series) from the 90s-early 2000s, but she likes a handful of more modern series too. Her favorites are cardcaptor Sakura, fruits basket, and ohshc. She’s an artist with a moe artstyle. Most of her classmates dont like her because they think she’s too cringe and weird. She goes to a k-12 school, so she can’t really escape that reputation. She gets bullied a lot. Aside from blue warbler(her classmate and friend who I’ll reblog this post later to talk about), she doesn’t have any irl friends. Plus she and blue warbler don’t see each other much during school.

I’m not sure which specific grade she’s in, but I think it’s around 10th-12th.

She’s one of my villains. She’s a magical girl, but she uses her powers against others indiscriminately as a sort of outlet. She has a lot of pent up aggression, and doesn’t know how to deal with it.

She’s themed around explosive anger and a rebellious attitude.

Basic lore explanation for creepy crawlies(my hypothetical magical girl series) Part 1 : transformation devices

My magical girl transformation devices look like flip phones (like the intricate cutesy kind you see in a lot of magical girl anime); this may change as I develop the system a bit more. Rn I’m referring to them as ‘pendants’ for simplicity.

The pendants work kind of like magnets attracted to their owners/potential owners. It will almost always move towards its current owner or the closest potential owner if it doesn’t have one. The 2 broader types of pendants are bug and insectivore, though the way they function very similarly. Each individual pendant is themed around a type of bug or insectivore(Ex: butterfly, moth, roach, bat, bird), and each owner is themed around a particular species of that bug or insectivore(Ex: monarch butterfly, isabella tiger moth, Madagascaran hissing cockroach, black mouse eared bat, black throated blue warbler) post-transformation. Different owners of the same pendent would be themed around different species. The only people who can use pendants are people who are compatible with that specific pendent. There are often a few people who are compatible with the same pendant alive at the same time, probably 1-5 people in the world per pendent at a time.

The pendants have appendages of the creatures they are themed after(wings, limbs, and/or antennae). They are invisible to people who are incompatible with them or other pendants from the same set when they are ownerless.

Each pendant has connections to at least 1 other pendant of the same broad type(ex:bird and bat, butterfly and moth). These connections relate to when the pendants change ownership. All pendents in the same set share the same set of owners at a time, these periods of time are referred to as ‘eras’. At the start of an era, all the pendants of that set claim an owner, that being the closest compatible person. The person has to be a very short distance from the pendant and has to have touched it at some point in order for the pendant to connect to them. The era doesn’t technically start until each pendant in the set has an owner. The era ends after ~10 years, or if every owner for that set dies. While it’s rare, if a pendant is used regularly by one person who is not the owner without the owner using it for several months, that owner’s connection to their pendent can be severed and their ownership transferred to the current user; If that owner was the last of their set, that era could end this way, though the owner may still be compatible able until one of the main 2 conditions is met. Once an era ends, the pendant will no longer be magnetically attracted to the previous owner and will pull towards the closest compatible person (this also happens if an individual owner dies). Previous owners are no longer compatible.
