🍓 - Oh this one is so so easy if we're going by canon, according to the original script, he wanted to be a vet, but he didn’t have the grades to make it to college. I also hc that he dropped out a couple years into high school due to peer pressure from Scott, since he was all high and mighty about his band, and Adam didn't really have too much of a say if he didn't want to lose his best friend or piss him off.

I also think that if he didn’t drop out, he could've made it eventually if he had the support. He's not stupid, he just struggled in an environment where he couldn't learn and everyone around him assumed he was too dumb to and gave up on him years ago.

I like the idea that a little while after the game, he got his GED and started college, and is making his way towards finally making his childhood dream come true

🍋 - Ouagh, definitely his anger issues.

It's not intentional, he tries to keep it under control, but he just can't help it sometimes. Once his mom got over having a baby, he grew up either walked-over or ignored.

He was a sweet kid, but it wore off pretty soon. He bit kids in preschool and started a few playground fights as he got older, and it only got worse once Scott got involved.

He wasn't a bully, the main reason it started was getting picked on, and it wasn't like he was scary enough to turn the table around.

Once they were in their teens, him and Scott had started ditching class, eventually smoking and stealing shitty beer, and tried to get away from the things that made the anger build up inside of him.

There were even a couple times he blew up on Franz, and he's never been able to fully forgive himself for it, even if Franz already did. He'd noticed Adam had been off, not knowing why and wanting to help, but he couldn't tell him that he was steeping in guilt about getting Franz trapped, and he knew it was just concern, but it only made thing worse. So, instead of talking it out like he knew he should've, he got pissed, yelled, and walked out, leaving Franz alone and scared.

He came back soon after, with apology take-out, and a messy, half-assed actual apology, and they made up, but he still beats himself up about it.

So yeah uh, anger issues.

🍋‍🟩 - Oooooh okay, definitely a little.

Nothing overly paranoid or extreme, but he's absolutely the person who freaks a little about someone jinxing something and telling them to knock on wood, y’know?

Of course, post-trap Adam is much more paranoid and nervous for obvious reasons. Some of his superstitions shift into being trauma related, things like double checking rooms, nerves about mirrors and someone behind him, scared of the dark, and the like, but it doesn't entirely overshadow all of them.

There are a few that he completely disregards, though, mainly about black cats and Friday the 13th. Obviously, he's a big cat guy, and hating any kind of cat pisses him off, especially because he's always like the black ones. Also, he was definitely the kid to decide his lucky number was 13 out of spite.

🍐 - Absolutely, I think he'd be really prone to fucking with his lighter or the lid on his cigarettes since they're always in his pocket, but he'd also be bad about picking and his nails.

He's generally a nervous person, and I also do subscribe to the headcanon that he has adhd, so while he doesn't call it stimming (as its 2007), there's a fair few stims he does regularly.

I think he'd also get really good a twirling pencils around, being bored in class and needing something to do besides staring at a board and taking nothing in. Also, he definitely tried to do it with a cigarette at like, 16/17, broke it, and got really pissed (Scott would still make fun of him about it to this day)

🥝 - So one, I do think Franz would do the same raccoon eyes like I do, though also like me, he'd end up being too tired to put the effort most days.

There definitely was a "Franz, I can do eyeliner just fine when I want to" moment, but with enough begging, he'd give in eventually.

He'd probably try and dial it back a little bit, but just the idea of Franz in his lap, fussing over eyeshadow not blending out how he wants and shushing Adam to stop laughing and keep his eyes closed is a very silly to me

🔥 - Dude it is so stupid how happy he makes me, he's literally just the definition of A Guy. I can't really explain it, I've always just liked those sorts of characters, and he's like, the epitome of them but with more flavor if that makes sense.

He's got good music taste, he's really funny, relatable, like, he's just so *gestures at nothing* y'know? I also may just be one of those fags, mayhaps 🤯

❤️‍🩹 - I think the one that always sticks out to me is when he went to get Franz's stuff back.

It's the first thing he did that made him seem safe compared to the others, especially because it wasn't just the important things like his computer and documents. It was the little things that made his apartment feel like it was his. Worn-out posters, CDs and tapes, bad movies, dumb little knick-knacks, bad photos he took when he was a kid, shit like that. It was clear he wasn't just doing a once over out of obligation, but that he spent a while going through everything and grabbing the things he'd want in if he was in the same situation.

And while he was scared at first, both from the knock on his door catching him off guard and opening it to see a guy he really didn't know and hadn't spoken to with two large bags filled with his stuff, it really did help separate him from the others in Franz's mind.

🧠 Dude, Franz legit would have his own little stool in Adam's darkroom to just sit and watch/listen to him work and yap about how all of it works. Especially now that he'd be able to shoot for more than sketchy stalking jobs and shitty gigs for Scott, he'd totally geek out about getting to do more artsy projects and using more than the cheapest film he could afford. Sure, it's complicated as hell, and he doesn't get all of the composition rules or chemistry behind developing, but seeing him get to be so open about it after years of his parents and friends putting it down and calling it stupid is well worth it.

Also, I will die on the hill that he's kind of an elitist industrial fan when it comes to music. Sure, he's not the type to call everyone who doesn't like the same music a poser, and most of the time, he's only half serious, but I think it'd lead to a ton of joke arguments.

Cause obviously Franz's taste is everything I like that would exist in and before 2007, which does not bode well in his favor. There's a lot they'd agree on, NIN, KMFDM, The Prodigy, Rammstein, some Depeche Mode probably, Einstrürzende Neubauten would be respectable, etc. And some of the new wave and other electronic stuff (Gary Numan, Wolfsheim, Keoki, Kraftwerk, etc.) wouldn't be terrible. But we have to be serious, the fact that he'd like shit like My Chem, FOB, Blink-182, Green Day, and other radio hits would NOT slide around Adam. I will not stand for emo Adam unless it's like, actually emotional hardcore, that man is only shown listening to Frontline Assembly, we have got to be real here. Of course, I'm sure there's some more mainstream stuff he'd like (obviously none of what I've mentioned is obscure besides like, maybe Einstrürzende, but you know what I mean), I've read at least one fic with him and Scott being into REM when they were teens, and I do like that one. Again, not a total "erm if they played more than one show 20 years ago where 5 people saw it and it was never recorded, I won't listen to it" kind of guy, but he's not just into radio shit. (Unlike some people *cough* me)

Oh, and I do think Franz is getting hit with the Devo beam, and unfortunately for him, I feel like that's just gonna end up with:

But it's all playful for the most part, and something they do really enjoy sharing with each other, even if it means Adam has to put up with "I Miss You" more often than he'd like.

🫂 - For one, he's really all Franz has post-game. Sure, Lawrence is nice enough, and Amanda isn't like, mean, but he really did lose pretty much everyone and everything he had before. So just being there during his nightmares and general struggles is a huge part of their relationship that he can depend on, and he tries to do the same for Adam.

He also just loves to have someone to spend time with, be it cozy movie nights, playing games they both suck at, cheesy record store dates, or getting dressed up to go see some of shitty local band when its safe to (including wotg, of course).

One of the more specific things Adam does that really helps is helping when his hands are acting up. Since his hands tend to shake or have really bad pains, having someone to help who also understands (as Adam's shoulder was also messed up pretty bad after the bathroom, especially due to infection on top of being shot), and doesn't try to baby or belittle him helps to keep his confidence up.

🍰 - Honestly, I think more creative pet names are difficult for them, as Franz is a somewhat difficult name to play off of, and he's also kind of new to relationships, so he struggles to find much for Adam.

Adam would have the most, defaulting to "babe/baby", partially because he knows its cliché and thinks its humorous, and also because it's easy. I think he'd "handsome" occasionally, especially if he's hugging Franz from behind and muttering against his neck (guys I'm normal and not gay I promise 😿😿)

Franz really doesn't have much, "love" would get used sometimes, but really the ones he'd use would end up being little bits, calling each other "dumbass" and "asshole", and other half-hearted insults.

There's also erm, the silly ones but I think I'm gonna gatekeep those for now :)

☀️ - They really do lean on each other a lot. Franz moreso than Adam, seeing as he has Lawrence as well, and their relationship is a bit different. They have a connection him and Franz don't, but that's not to say one is more valuable. There's a light, almost "first serious high-school relationship" flavor with him and Franz that reminds Adam of him and Scott sometimes (minus the stabbing and general douche-ness. They're young and stupid, and there isn't that intense and serious connection he has with Lawrence that he really values, but its heavy at times, and the chance to step back to something less intense helps him stay balanced.

It's also just fun. The fact that so much of the "normal" relationship things are new to Franz is something Adam really enjoys. Staying up til 3 eating bad snacks just talking about pointless things, Franz turning red when Adam makes a point to call him "my boyfriend" with his arm around his waist at a show, lazy makeout sessions pausing to laugh with each other when Franz doesn't know what to do or makes a weird noise, it's just sweet.

That's not to say its all easy, they're both deeply traumatized, codependent, and Adam's secret and anger do cause issues sometimes, but that's not everything about them. They really do love each other, regardless of need or guilt, and having one another is one of the few things they have to stay sane.

Realized I have not done a proper introduction of my newest partner on here despite losing my mind over him for around 8 months now

But um yeah, I watched Saw for the first time 09/09/2024, and very quickly fell for Adam hard, and my friends have kindly tolerated my nonstop yapping about him ever since

My s/i, Franz Miller, met him after being put through a game due to him refusing to accept himself and falling down a depressive spiral. Adam had found his journal and went to Lawrence for help, who ended up marking him down as a potential victim. Franz does not know this part, and while he does genuinely care, Adam's guilt does play a role in why he feels so attached to him.

Adam is also dating Lawrence, but Franz is not. Lawrence and Franz are friendly with one another but don't see each other often, and Franz is slightly wary of him due to his work with John. Obviously, Lawrence and Adam are apprentices in this AU, with Lawrence being slightly more involved with it than Adam, who does his best to only take photos and build traps as rarely as possible. Neither of them are devout believers, though, Lawrence doesn't love it but does anyway to keep Adam safe.

Franz survived all 3 parts of his game and won, with the first being the most life threatening. He was strung up by metal rings pierced through his body, which were attached to cables connected to a pully system. The goal was to be forced to give 15 different confessions within 15 minutes, each one causing a quick release on a cable to break apart, or the cables would retract until his body was ripped apart. The rings were not removed until after the game, leaving him with nerve damage where he was pierced, with the ones through his hands causing him the most pain daily.

The second was a choice between himself and his abusive father, who was held at a makeshift gallows, standing on a box with a mechanism to pull it back at the press of a button. On the other side of the room behind a set of bars, Franz woke up once more strapped to a chair with a large spike dangling over his head, which would fall if he pressed a second button. It was his choice of who would live, and despite almost giving into his father's demands, he did not choose himself, causing the restraints to open and letting him proceed to the final part.

The last was the simplest, a room with a single table with a plastic bag on top, and a clock on the wall counting down from 30 minutes. The bag is a call back to his failed attempt, giving him one last chance to give up, or to sit it out with his thoughts and survive.

Okay okay enough trap stuff, actually positive things now

- He and Adam's music tastes are decently similar, though Franz likes some more mainstream or weird bands that Adam bullies him for (lovingly)

- They spend a lot of time watching shitty movies and eating takeout, as after the game, Franz is declared legally dead and struggles to leave the house, also due to anxiety and ptsd

- Franz does go out rarely, often to underground shows with Adam, they've went to Scott's a couple times and he can't stand him, but it's still fun to spend time with Adam

- Franz had not transitioned before his game, which was a major part of his lack of self-acceptance and his last confession to be released, which helps him not be recognized *as* much

- Adam was the first person to warm up to him, again partially out of guilt, going out of his way to pick up his things from his old apartment and bring them to the safe house

- When Adam stays over, they often end up comforting each other through nightmares, sometimes choosing to just stay up and watch something until they pass out peacefully

- Franz tried to give himself a haircut and failed miserably, and Adam got Amanda to help because he also can't cut hair to save his life

- Lip piercings were something Franz had always wanted, but after the game were too daunting to handle on his own, and Adam was there to comfort him while one of his friends helped with them, which was a big step forward in his recovery
