Israel cuts Gaza's final internet line, plunging it into total communication blackout.

Israel bombed the last main fibre route in Gaza, which means that as of June 12, all internet and fixed-line communication services are now completely cut off, further isolating Gaza amidst an ongoing genocide.

I am seeing more and more calls from inside of Gaza for help with eSims as that is currently the only way they can connect internally and with the outside world.

the downside of playing a ton of dwarf fortress is that i keep trying to use the right mouse button to close every other kind of window. i just tried to right click out of the tumblr post editor

on the one hand, when i think of myself as a kid, there are some responsible choices that i don't think i would've been capable of making if i had the final say, eg vaccinations. i was just way too terrified of needles, even if i understood all the reasons it was important i'm not sure i would've had the willpower to consent to it.

on the other hand, it does make me wonder how much of that fear was due to the fact that i didn't have a choice. to me as a child it felt like this painful thing that was forced on me at seemingly random intervals without any actual benefit, since i had no reference for how a serious illness would feel in comparison. I don't know that it would have made any difference if i'd ever had the option to refuse, but i do wonder.

I started playing Dwarf Fortress recently, and I adore my Mayor. She’s 67 years old, asexual, and i can always tell when she’s entered a room because she’s preceded by a cloud of her 15 beloved dogs. She ignored an evacuation order yesterday because she wanted to wash her face and somehow just slipped away right before a monster slaughtered my entire guard.
