WELP, it seems like most people have school until late June??
I want to read WGWG and for those of us who don’t want to read that, I’d ALSO like to read me some Neil Gaiman mostly because I’m a huge fan of his tumblr and I hear good things about his writing so I’m totally okay with Julia’s suggestion of “American Gods” (or other Neil Gaiman books?)
Basically, I’m willing to read both, simultaneously, depending on when people can get them??
So….what I’m suggesting is to jump on to one of these book trains of Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green/David Levithan or American Gods by Neil Gaiman (or both if you wish) and say when you think you can get the book and then…reading…will…happen???
MAYBE?
I don’t know people, TALK TO ME.
posting again because no one responded wahhh :'(
CHECK YOUR TAGS, PEOPLE.

Sounds good to me, I don’t have any books as of yet to read, and I don’t mind reading WGWG with you. I may be a bit delayed, as my semester doesn’t end until the last week of June.

I’m game, though I just glanced at my summer reading stack and the only fiction on it are “An Abundance of Katherines” (I may read that now, not sure…but feels like I need to re-read it) and “How to Find Your Soul Mate Without Losing Your Soul” (Oh wait..that last one isn’t fiction)…
yourfellowclassmate replied to your post: HELLO TIIBers!
I’m up for it! Keep my brain active, Ms. M :) *Note: I probably wont get to a book until the third week of June.

I’m not far into Neil Gaiman’s American Gods if we feel like shaking things up. Salvage the Bones is also excellent and a pretty recent publication.

hey Melissa, hey! I'd like to read WGWG with you, if you're willing to wait until I can buy or borrow it :D

HELLO TIIBers!
(I know that we've been really lame with keeping up with things and making posts and honestly I'm a moderator and I haven't even noticed some of these posts until just now so bear with me here please.)
It's summer again! (At least for me.)
I was WONDERING if any of you TIIBers would be willing to read some books since a handful of us are not so overwhelmed with school at the moment!
So, a few questions:
1. Would you wanna re-instate some TIIBing for the summer?
2. Do you have any books you'd like to read?
3. Also, I recently bought Will Grayson, Will Grayson and I was wondering if anyone wanted to read it with me? (I know a handful of you have already read that book and it would be presumptuous to just pick a book for the entire club but anyway I think it'd be cool to read it with some of you lovely people)
If you don't know what TIIB is, it's basically an awesome online book club inspired by awesome people and you can find more about it here on our FAQ page. If you like reading books and the tumblr community feel free to join in with us!
If ANYONE is interested, please reply, message, anything -- let me know! And make sure to reblog and tell your friends!
-- Melissa :D

I've got a book!
My sister gave me Graceling by Kristin Cashore for Christmas, and it looks really interesting, so I thought I'd propose it for our next reading mission!
It's a YA fantasy novel, and it's gotten quite a bit of critical acclaim. It also has a strong female protagonist, lots of political intrigue and (apparently, I haven't read it yet) quite a few unexpected twists.
What do you think? Would you be up for that?

I think we should read this :)

“Eleanor & Park reminded me not just what it’s like to be young and in love with a girl, but also what it’s like to be young and in love with a book.”
So John Green reviewed Eleanor & Park inThe New York Times this weekend, and I don’t have enough exclamation points to express how I’m feeling.
If you’d like to read my book, you can find it in lots of great bookstores — and online here:
Amazon Barnes & Noble IndieBound iBooks

Hey TIIBlers!
The last round-up was last September... which means half a year ago. Uhm.
So, since I've got a break between semesters, and some time to kill, I'd be up for a new book and a new chance for interesting and engaging discussions. Or just some mild fangirl flailings, maybe. Anything's alright here.
I thought maybe we'd try another YA book, and something contemporary? Since we've all conglomerated over John Green and TfioS is what we were so passionate about in the first place and all.
So, submit your book ideas and we'll have another poll!
Much love, Caroline

What's your progress TIIBers?
So, today is our deadline for the completion of Book 1 in "Tender is the Night".
Where are you guys at?
Finished? Still working on it? Haven't started? What's "Tender is the Night"?
I realize many of us are transitioning from summer into school, so I'm definitely expecting things to start out slow.
And I'm sorry for not updating and reminding you guys to get your read on!
I'll be working on that, and hopefully we can establish a nice rhythm for our reading schedule :)
Also, if you're wondering, I haven't started :3 I'M GOING TO START THIS WEEK I SWEAR

How's everyone's reading coming along?
Let's not mention the fact that I haven't read anything yet.
Remember:
‘Tender is the Night’ is divided into three ‘books’: Book One, Book Two, & Book Three.
The deadline to complete ‘Book One’ is September 30th.

"Tender is the Night" Deadline
Okay so we've been rather silent lately.
If you haven't gotten the book yet, please try to do so ASAP either through Amazon, your local bookstore, or your local library :)
'Tender is the Night' is divided into three 'books': Book One, Book Two, & Book Three.
The deadline to complete 'Book One' is September 30th.
(If many of us ending up jumping ahead like last time, we may edit this deadline. I'm trying to keep the deadline spaced out though, for those of us now incorporating schoolwork into our schedules.)
Happy reading and be sure to submit or tag any #tiib related items so we can all see what you're up to!

Check in
Who has gotten their copy of Tender is the Night? Anyone already finished/in the course of reading the book? We'd love to take a survey of what's what so we can formalise a deadline.

Favorite LfA quote
"'You've got a lifetime to mull over the Buddhist understanding of interconnectedness.' He spoke every sentence as if he'd written it down, memorized it, and was now reciting it. 'But while you were looking out the window, you missed the chance to explore the equally interesting Buddhist belief in being present for every facet of your daily life, of being truly present. Be present in this class. And then, when it's over, be present out there,' he said, nodding toward the lake and beyond."
-John Green, Looking for Alaska
