no but you’ve just bought a used car

it’s not nice, exactly, and you can tell it’s been rebuilt a few times, and it’s felt every single one of its several hundred thousand miles

but there aren’t that many ‘67 Impalas around anymore and it’s not your main car, it’s just a fun little project

except no matter what radio station you switch to, it always slides back to the classic rock station

and something is rattling in the heat vents even though you’re pretty sure you got all the legos out

and one summer day you’re working on fixing a little dent in the front bumper when you look in the driver’s seat and your heart stops cold because someone is sitting there

"Dude," he says, running his hands over the wheel, "if you’re not gonna drive her, why buy her?"

and then he disappears

you convince yourself you imagined it

but you find yourself driving the car around on sunny days more often, with the music up because it feels right

and on a long stretch of open highway, between songs in the static on the radio, you think you can hear the same voice saying “now that’s more like it”

What if Dean dies in the season finale of Supernatural and while he’s lying there, covered in blood, dirt and tears, everyone who has made the slightest impact on his life comes to see him in his final moments.  Like Kevin, John, Jo, Ellen, Bobby, Adam, and they just keep coming, until he sees his mom.  She’s carrying the samulet in her hands and she puts it around his neck, giving him a quick peck on the cheek.  Before Dean lets go, she whispers “I told you boys that angels were watching over you”, glancing back at Castiel, who is knelt beside him and yelling at Sam to cover the wound.  Dean smiles and knows that Sammy will be safe with Cas and that it’s okay to let go.
