La Pietà - Carved from a single block of white Carrara marble it took the 24-year old Michelangelo less than two years to complete (1498-1499).

It is alleged that just days after its installation in St. Peter’s Basilica, Michelangelo inadvertently overheard some visitors’ stray comments that Michelangelo was too young to accomplish a sculpture of such beauty and that the work had been completed by another artist, Cristoforo Solari; outraged, that night, under the cover of darkness and out of pride, Michelangelo snuck back into the Basilica and etched an inscription by candlelight, in Latin, across the Virgin’s sash: “Michael. Agelus. Bonarotus Florent Faciebat” (Michelangelo Buonarroti the Florentine, made this). It is also alleged that, having regretted the outburst of pride, Michelangelo vowed never to sign another work again; the Pietà remained the only work by the artist to ever bear his signature. (source, photo gallery)

This is my csss gift from @ladyfirefly. 

I can’t wait to read the entire series! My attempt at watching the new ONCE spin-off just made me miss them that much more. I’m glad that they get to open their wedding presents, now ;) That line about CS finally getting to do something together that doesn’t involve mortal peril made me LOL. I also thought it would be an interesting concept with regards to Emma & Hook receiving all kinds of cookware & kitchen appliances—just thinking about Hook trying to figure out what all those contraptions can do and are for is a funny thought.

I hope you enjoy these little snippets into their domestic life! I went with exploring their life as Husband and Wife, since we didn’t get to see that near as often as we would have liked.  And I totally agree, I am not really watching season 7, I watched Emma’s “farewell,” episode just to get the last of “closure,” that they were supposedly giving us.  I hope you enjoy it!

#1: Wedding Gifts

This takes place after the final scene of season 6.  Emma and Killian are finally able to take stock of their home and new life together.

After their all inclusive family dinner at Granny’s it was time to head home.  Henry had opted to spend the night with Regina, and Emma and Killian had a chance to really spend some time in their home as husband and wife.  As they made their way inside the house, they were met with a pile of glittering packages stacked in their living room.

“Darling, what..why?”

“I think these are all our wedding gifts.”

Sorry I’ve been MIA the past couple of days—I’m feeling much better now though. My family actually had to celebrate Christmas on the 26th because the all of us came down with some kind of cold. Considering how my Christmas season went, it’s nice to know that some are still celebrating and one can still celebrate into the New Year. Anyway, I can’t wait to read your series! I’m going to start right now :)
