DIS/ABILITY STATION

The purpose of DIS/ABILITY STATION is to turn sensory perception upside down, raising a question of how our mind is limited when unfamiliar sequences of information appear.

What are we missing while being “NORMAL”? The Station offers two types of mixed sensory experiences which deactivate familiar brain paths: 1. Organic tactile texture with non-organic sounds 2. Non-organic texture which produces a sound of organic substance Try to concentrate while touching and listening.

Das Totenhaus

Talking about death is uncomfortable. Lothar Schreyer, a mystic and director of the stage workshop at the Bauhaus Weimar, designed Totenhöuser for an afterlife experience. Schreyer wished that his soul would stay in eternity while the lifeless body was in Totenhaus on earth. This concept is appealing but disconnected from the cycles of nature. What does it mean today to stay in eternity after the end of life?

Questioning consequences of the traditional ways of burying the dead are taboo, despite the fact that these methods significantly contribute to environmental destruction.

How can memories about loved ones survive without harmful consequences for nature? What if a life-giving soil will be a symbolic reincarnation of such memories about those who passed away?

ORACLE - pocket size toy.

The Oracle is a mechanical fortune-teller developed by Norns Corp. It is two meters high and equipped with four heads, one of each provides customers with the service БУДУЩЕЕ® (FUTURE®). Chart right beside the machine is an agent between horizontal and vertical worlds. Client is asked to wait when one of the heads will match the body of the device and after that, they should compare fell out face with given information in the chart. This is the mechanics behind the service БУДУЩЕЕ®, which is provided by the fortune-teller. ATTENTION! The machine is user-unfriendly and interaction with it has certain side effects. Please, stay vigilant and keep an eye on your shoes.

Walzerzyklus is a collaborative EP from German artist Atom™ and Russian singer Lisokot, released on Raster music label. Atom™ worked with Lisokot to craft seven tracks that employ the ¾ time of a classic waltz. I was asked to create costumes for this project, which would include a reinterpretation of XVI-XVII centuries gowns’ elements.
