Catch me repeatedly reminding myself that it’s just a first draft and it doesn’t have to be perfect but also I can tell it’s not perfect right now and I’m wigging out over it.

Working on my novel and couldn’t figure out why it felt so empty. I didn’t have any filler. It was all 100% plot. The characters only interacted when necessary. I didn’t prattle on about the scenery or how the birds sounded. I had all my fuller stuff that I loved saved in another file because I “didn’t need it”.

Y’all, I knew this existed in TV shows but it didn’t hit me until this that everything is being whittled down. We are so starving for filler that we snap up anything. I unload all mine on Tumblr or keep it in a massive Google Docs. It SUCKS.

Honestly? Death to plot necessity. Revive filler. Revive unnecessary interactions. Revive just vibing with characters sometimes. I don’t want to just consume the plot and I don’t want to just create the plot either.

“Kat?? Katsuki? Where are you?” You yelled walking in through the front door of your house.

It was unusually dark inside unless Katsuki had already went to bed which you highly doubted because as much as he bitches and moans, he doesn’t like sleeping without you.

“I’m in here.” His voice was as coming from the dining room.

You could smell whatever he cooked circulating around the house and it had you salivating already.

“Mmmmm what did you cook, baby?? It smells a-…….”

You were cut short because you noticed the floor was decorated with flower petals leading up to the dining room, but the shock and confusion didn’t stop there.

When you got inside the table was set with the addition of filled wine glasses, a vase of your favorite flowers, and few soft lit candles around the room.

Then your eyes caught the main event sitting center stage. A nervous Katsuki was fidgeting but you could tell he was trying to remain calm, cool, and collected.

He was dressed up in a nice collared shirt and pants fit snug to his hips. He looked better than dinner smelled.

You were both staring at each other when everything seemed to fade. Both of you seeming to hold you breath to see if the other would speak first.

But of course you being you takes the opportunity to break the tension.

“Katsuki Bakugo” and you voice cracked because all of the emotions were making it hard to speak, “ are you about to propose to me??”

“…….”

“Kats?”

“I am gonna murder that pink idiot! I specifically told her to keep her goddamn mouth shut!”

Doing one of those note things for motivation (or notivation because notes lol)

25 notes - I do the dishes and clean out the litter box (done, for now... But these are Sisyphean tasks)

50 notes - I clean up around the house (I did a little cleanup, might do more later)

100 notes - I do a little work on my book (it still needs editing before I can publish it and write the sequel, but I'll do some work on that when my PC stops crashing)

250 notes - I start working on book 2 (or work harder on editing book 1 if it still needs it)

500 notes - I participate in artfight (in the first July after it reaches this threshold. I doubt it'll get there by this month.)

1k notes - I start working on a video game in the Starbourne multiverse. A small one, like Undertale is to Deltarune. I'm calling it Saturn Robe which is an anagram for Starbourne, like Undertale is for Deltarune.

2.5k notes - I start working on my dream game, Starbourne. The one that's the reason I started writing in the first place. (If the small game isn't finished I work harder on that)

5k notes - I dedicate my time to taking care of myself/my partner/my family, and working on my dream game.

10k notes - I become a god in the Tumblrverse (this will not happen)

You and Satoru had gotten into an argument and by the time you got tired you were still pissed at him. This means you decide to sleep on the couch rather than laying awkwardly in the bed with him.

He’s pissed as well so he doesn’t even try to disagree with you sleeping on the couch. He goes in your shared room, lays down and you assume go to sleep.

So imagine your surprise when you wake up and find that idiot on the floor right beside the couch with your hand in his. He’s completely knocked out and you don’t know how long he’s been down there but somehow your fingers are intertwined. He’s got a pillow and blanket on the ground, a whole little set up.

You try to unlace your fingers but that just makes him squeeze a little tighter.

“Satoru…. Ru!” You whisper/yell at him.

“Huh???” But he makes no attempt to let go or even open his eyes.

“Why are you on the floor dumbass?”

“Didn’t wanna wake you by trying to get on the couch or pick you up and take you to bed. You’dve just gotten pissed.”, he mumbled into his pillow.

Well you were still pissed but waking up to him laying on the floor just to be near you might’ve made you forgive him just a little bit🤭

Folks, it’s time…

…time for the NFL DRAFT!

Ok so, I know, sports, I get it.  Tumblr doesn’t seem to be too big on sports.  When sports has been mentioned with the trans folks I’ve befriended, the term “sportsball” gets tossed around, much like a ball in actual sports.

But guys, gals, and enbies… I love sports.

Now, primarily I’m just a New York Jets fan, something which has led to much sports related misery as we’re the team that has the longest playoff drought across the four major US sports leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL)… our last playoff game was a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship Game (one game away from the Superbowl) on January 23rd, 2011.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE.

But today, today is the day where that starts to change, for today is the NFL DRAFT.  Today kicks off a three day selection festival where teams will pick incoming collegiate players, filling needs, drafting best player available, or reaching hopelessly for prospects that look good in shorts but otherwise have questionable ability.

It’s basically Christmas for NFL fans; we get to open up new presents for our teams.

Something I used to do back in my Corpse Run Comics days as the Annual Corpse Run Mock Draft.  For the uninitiated, a mock draft is where someone makes predictions on who will be picked and where, and to what teams.
