sure, go ahead, set up a separate table so the cats don't walk all over the drying prints

Newest print - the moth, the man, the legend! Hand printed, not pressed, but I am overall happy how the thin lines held up, given this is a A5 size print.
Will probably color in the eyes separately after prints dry, since I didn't have too good of a trial with registering multiple colors yet.

Okay, so since there was some interest to the press I made, here are the samples. I do have a feeling I might have under-inked them, but also that I didn't apply enough pressure since I don't know how sturdy it actually is.
So, first one is an A4 print with only press pressure - as we see there are a lot of bald spots - the linoleum wasn't all that smooth it turns out, I did notice it at the inking stage. So with the thickness of the paper and the amount of pressure it wasn't too good.
the second print I used the press and went over the print by hand after that a bit - far from ideal too, but eh. We'll keep trying.
Third print is an A6, press only. Since the top pf the press wasn't properly centered we can see that one side got less pressure, but the overall result is better on a smaller format. still will have to troubleshoot how much pressure I can apply safely with adequate results. Ans maybe try thinner paper.
After that I found out we actually have a print shop co-working place in town, so I went to try the big press to see if the issue with was only with under-inking, and though here I used thinner paper, I can say that, well, proper pressure is key.

And yeah, the print is a Keith Haring homage, the text reads 'Whatever anybody says, I will live!"

Controversial opinion time, but I like the 1979 'Gonchiyrov' furry anime series. Yes, it was very sanitized and barely resembled the original, but the episodes I had on VHS as a kid I memorized word for word.
Too bad it seems the only trace of it left are few cels on japaneese auction sites. If I was wiser 15 years ago I'd never get rid of that tape...
#goncharov#yes I know I'm gonchaposting in the year 2025#a mighty vision overcame me today#so whatever

Mighty are my hands! Finished a linocut printing press over the weekend - it's a bit crooked, but cost under $15 to make, which makes it 10 times cheaper than the cheapest option I saw for purchase. I wanted to make this BillFord art into a linocut print, updating it, so it'll probs be the first trial on this baby. My hands are as sore as they are mighty, so this might take a while.

Heyo, what's up folks, who's still active here! Just felt like running a quick update. I'm alive and fine as much as anyone now. Hope you and your loved ones are fine too.
Kinda fell off with new art. but still drawing - actually got into the local animation industry last June as a background artist and had the first cinema run last December. So, Like, fucking wow! Didn't expect that for myself. Nothing most of you might have heard off, but still - a big step up from the personal freelance gigs I did for years.
Also - picked up a actual sketchbook this month in like... a whole while. Feeling good about it. Mostly OC's and style studies and non of that fancy sketchbook spead stuff (the social media did sketchbooks rotten by conjouring the ~aesthetic spread~, dear god what are you doing to young artist as if the fear of the blank page wasn't enough, now they have a rough or junk book and a ~pleasing sketchbook~? FUCKYOU!).
But yeah, just want to tap in to wave "hi, I'm alive!". Still doing art, arguably - even more then before.
On a separate note - hopefully an international shipping scheme will work and I will get my mits on the Book of Bill 6 month after the hype died down, but BY GOD this old man yaoi been living rent free in my head.

Tbf inktober has gone from an inking challenge to just a 30day challenge which is like,,,, fine. People just want to engage in a challenge with a community. The dude who did inktober sucks anyway
Frankly, I don't care about the dude, or whether he sucks or not, it's not about him. It's about the chipping away of meanings that help navigate the increasingly garbichified web. There are a myriad of lists going in October, people hop on the tag for the views. And I get it, I do, but I have the same problem as with mistagging in fandom spaces - you are not broadening your reach, you are making the search experience worse.
Imagine it in any generic tags - trying to look at watercolor works and getting charcoal or digital cal shaded art, or whatever. Or doing Mermay and the tag is filled with idk, bipedal angels, satyres and photos of pet gerbils.
I can't stop people from mistagging, as this isn't something that can be moderated. But I can bitch about it all the same.

I get it that people can art how they want and whatever, but today I saw the pinnacle of no shits given to meaning of tags. A fullcorol digital drawing with a prompt from a random list tagged "inktober". I'm glad you made art and decided to pick up a daily drawing challenge, but for fucks sake.
#what's even the fucking point anymore#ok you don't want to do inks or at least digital inks - fine do the tag prompts#you don't like the prompts but want to ink - super cool#but you can't not do neither and still be like 'yeah I did inktober!'#everybody wants to be in the popular tags#in this house we call it tag spamming

PSA: BAD LITTERBOX
i don't usually make posts like this, but this is a truly upsetting topic to me as a lifelong cat owner, so i feel i have a duty to share my knowledge with others.
there is a type of automatic litterbox for cats being sold that is EXTREMELY dangerous and has killed numerous cats through blunt force trauma, suffocation, etc. this litterbox is being sold under different brand names and logos, so i will include the picture of the model and two links to informational videos with more evidence and eloquence than i am able to provide.
please consider not having this type of litterbox in your home for your furry friends. me and my 16 year old tortie, puddy, want the best for all your kitty friends
image of litterbox below:
here are my two video links that provide proof and testimonials of this harmful product:

The fuckin torture of being a Billford artist from the start and seeing the hypetrain swoosh by because a) I can't get my hands on the book just yet b) I have so much work I have like zero time to draw anything beside it at least till November.

Hey be sure to go to your blog settings, head down to visibility and turn on this little button that prevents Tumblr from stealing your posts and using it to train AI learning models. Good job, fuckheads, great update.
