turning impure regression pure 🫧

many regressors, including me, have trouble with impure regressions ❤️ you aren't alone and heres how to turn a negative situation into a positive one!

your environment: dark, quiet areas where you feel safe can be very calming for little ones <3 soft, comforting textures also help overstimulation!

music: turn on some lullabies, disney playlists, or any comfort music/sounds

comfort item: i always recommend bringing a discreet comfort item with you when able; it can get you out of a tough headspace quickly!

reach out: whether its a caregiver, friend, or someone else you trust, talking with others can stop spiraling <3

self soothing: calming yourself down using techniques can be very useful in and out of little space. you can find a bunch of methods online

distractions: look for little activities to do around the area! there are also many kid-friendly games/worksheets online; try downloading some games in advance

let the emotions out: sometimes, a good cry can be very beneficial. emotions are never bad and shouldn't be shameful, letting out those icky feelings are the best way to be all good again <3

if you ever need someone to talk to, my dms & asks are always open! healing is not a linear journey, you're valid

My #1 Tip for Regressors!

So, I highly recommend this for any age regressors/dreamers, ESPECIALLY those of us who struggle to stay in headspace.

NESTING.

Nesting is a process common in neurodivergents, but basically it’s when you gather all the things you might need for an extended period of time (eg, phone, snacks, drink, tv remote, etc [more examples below]) and put it all in one place. Yeah, you’ll probably have several activities there, and you won’t use them all at once. But the point is that you won’t have to get up and disrupt your regression.

Some more examples of things you might have in your nest are:

Blanket

Stuffed animals and other toys

Coloring book/sketch book/journal

Crayons/markers/colored pencils

TV remote

Game controller/hand held console with your preferred game already inserted

Headphones

Pacifer, teethers, etc

Books

iPad, laptop, phone

Food and drinks

Chargers

You can put whatever you want in your nest, whatever makes you happy and occupied! Feel free to add suggestions in the comments too!

I also recommend getting your PJs on, charging your devices, taking your medications, using the bathroom, and finding someplace comfortable to settle before nesting. That will ensure maximum comfort!

I hope this helps some of you, it”s one of the best ways for me to stay in my regression (especially since I don’t have a Cg.). Happy regressing!

ive been kind of stressed cause of school lately, so ive had a bit of trouble with regressing properly, so i made some tma moodboards! ill do some arab character stimboards if im up for it this weekend!

was regressing before he joined the mag institute

his first cg was georgie, then sasha and tim, then the whole staff. its currently just martin, but he never officially stopped with the others

can NOT handle bitter stuff. when hes little he cringes at tea with a lot of sweetners like he cant

he originally regressed at home for the most part, but after the prentiss incident, he started regressing at the archives a LOT more

gets rlly quiet and shy around others, but LOUD around martin, tim, or sasha

cant stay in one place. always wandering around somewhere

not a huge fan of reading kids books, but loves getting read adult books

hates his work clothes with a passion, so he keeps sweaters and sweatpants in a cabinet on his desk just in case he regresses

started caregiving after meeting jon in research, but started regressing a bit after the prentiss incident

doesnt have a cg and doesnt particularly wanted one either

opposite of jon: loud and energetic at first but when you get close its almost pure silence

TOYS. action figures, calico critters, legos, whatever.

also a big fan of classic kids shows, like early power rangers or blues clues when hes younger

plays video games a lot when hes older, and he enjoys playing them with others

more private abt his regression since hes a lot more sensitive when hes regressed, but hes very open about being a cg!

older brother caregiver for sure! he was never able to be a good parental role model but can easily do one of a sibling

tim and martin (and sometimes jon but only when the others were busy) are her cgs

not a huge fan of nicknames that arent sash, but very much uses them on others

her regression is voluntary but she cant help but feel the urge to slip whenever she sees something like a box she can fit into

definitely an aunt cg. no rules, do whatever, but be safe!

even if shes more carefree then most caregivers, shes still very good one and makes sure everyone is safe

day 14 <3 most recent sfw media i watched! for me, it was bluey!

wow, an age regressor who likes bluey? who ever could have expected that,, but no srsly i love this show!!! my fav character is def bingo or mackenzie! but i love bluey and bingo’s relationship smm, it reminds me of when my brothers and i were bio kids! if you haven’t already watched this show, i so recommend it, because it def lives up to the hype!

day 13 <3 job wanted when younger! I had a ton but my #1 was always a (super idealized) veterinarian!

when i was a kid i thought vets jst like,, played with puppies and kitties and bunnies all day and that sounded great for me! when i found out vets are actually doctors but for animals, and have actual work to do, i lost interest rlly fast haha!

samiraaaahhhhh!!!!! the first arab character i ever saw in a media, and the first one who’s not just from “unnamed middle eastern country”. she’s iraqi, specifically from baghdad! samirah is a great character imo. i love her interactions with magnus, blitz, hearthstone, and amir! i overall jst rlly like her. she’s a cool character that has fun interactions, and who’s character doesnt have that many stereotypes from what i can see. most of my problems with her are less abt her and more abt her author/her overall series (which i have a lot of issues with haha)

i personally dont think she regresses or caregives, but i do think she knows abt it and def doesnt mind babysitting! i hc that all the valkyries have SOME knowledge on it, and since magnus regresses, samirah put extra time into learning abt it
