Scout giggles, putting one hand over his mouth as he watches Firo’s face redden. “But everybody says you’re in love! And when you’re in love you have a baby, right?”

Scout appears as if he is thinking for a second, and then shrugs. “Eh. I guess.”
Then he looks up at Firo starry-eyed again. “When are you and Miss Ennis gonna have a baby?”
Firo spluttered over hearing the question, and he felt his cheek redden. “Nooo nononono. Me and Ennis are… not… not gonna have a baby. We aren’t even married! And I don’t think she likes me that way either way.” Firo was trying - and failing - to get his blush under control.

“Well, your little sister will end up being a lady too one day.” Firo couldn’t help but chuckled and petted Scout’s head again. “Think ‘bout that.”

“Good! Mama says I’ll be gettin’ a new little sister soon!” He wrinkles his nose. “But girls are icky.”
“Really? I never noticed girls are icky. Don’t you like to listen to Aunt Miria? Aunt Miria is a girl too, you know.” Firo asked with a small smile on his face.
