anyway this is Melis. Melis is 8.5 weeks old. Melis is a Japanese spitz and Luna's half-niece. Melis has been with us since yesterday. So far we think Melis is pretty neat.
#dogs#I'm SCREAMING this is just a little MARSHMALLOW#or possibly a cloud#freyja never looked that innocent

Please enjoy this photo of my mother-in-law holding Freyja when she was still just a potato filled with love and razor-sharp teeth.
#dogs#Japanese Spitz#she still loves Grandma more than anything on this earth#her little feet were so weirdly shaped

Question for dogblr!
Freyja is becoming a pretty good jogging partner, except she has a strong need to attempt to maintain eye contact with me (or just stare at my face) the entire time. This can lead to her running into things, falling off the sidewalk, etc. I appreciate her attentiveness, but that's not a safe habit! Has anyone else had any similar experiences here?

#dogs#even her trainer said 'wow... your dog really LOOKS at you... that is something'#also if I go too long without looking back at her she'll start to walk in front of me until I LOOK#Then she'll go back to heel position#also my responses will be from my main account clerical-error so do not be alarmed there

Saint-Anne-de-Beaupré, Quebec, 1934
THE SUNGLASSES.
No information known about the photo, which wasn't published til the Archives section of a 1997 National Geographic
Makes me think about the intersection in that era of European dogcarts and North American dogsled practices. I wish I knew more. Look at those harnesses! And what mix are the dogs? What other things did they help with?
