“Bow has made his decision” Shadow Weaver says calmly, too calm. It makes panic and anger shoot through Adora’s veins “An unfortunate and poor one. But if this is really what he wants, then he can stay in Brightmoon. He will lose, and we will stop him”

Adora feels unrest sinking in her gut, though she tries to push it to the back of her mind “But what if this isn’t really what he wants? What if the princess is doing something to him? She could be torturing him as we speak! Brainwashing her onto his side or something!” “If that is the case” Shadow Weaver begins, still infuriatingly blase “Then Bow is an experienced Horde soldier. He should know how to get himself out of that situation”

Gods, if he didn’t already know the location of the library, he’s not even sure if he’d recognise it anymore. It’s- it’s been completely destroyed. The first part of his childhood is in pieces, and his broken memories lie in the ruins. He knew seeing it would be bad but nothing could prepare him for this kind of pain.  “... Home” Bow finishes, voice barely audible, even to his own ears. Tears sting and burn in his eyes.

Of course it’s small, he loves Adora, Catra and the other too much to ever truly want a life without them, but he can’t deny that it exists and that he wonders…  Well, it doesn’t matter how much wondering he does. He’ll never know, and he thinks that might be for the best.  “Yeah maybe” she agrees “I guess the good thing is that we know each now so- oh my god ”

Summary

It only takes an hour or so before her plan kind of backfires. (It’s the longest any of her plans have gone before backfiring… Success?) Bow sits at their table, grinning as he places the note in front of all of their friends and announces “I think I have a secret admirer!” Jealousy and confusion prickles in Glimmer before the rational side of her brain can register that he just put her note on the table “What?!” “Yeah! Look!” He cheers, unfolding the note, and that’s when she realizes her mistake. ‘I think you’re amazing :) <3’ No name. Great. Just great. That time Glimmer just wanted to cheer Bow up but accidentally became his secret admirer instead.

And I highly doubt me saying ‘Hey mom, I know I snuck out of the castle again and broke the rules of my grounding but look! I found a master archer who wants to join the rebellion! Can we keep him?’ is going to help with her mood”
