The Wildlife Habitat Garden on the Second Street side of the LPL here in the Village of Liverpool gets at fall weeding the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, thanks to volunteer Bev. She says there were plenty of the green creepers overtaking the good stuff. And Bev, a regular at our library programs, added that another gardening volunteer come spring would brighten that season for her.

Author Mem Fox was thrilled to hear that our StoryWalk in the Dinosaur Garden was featuring her children's book "Whoever You Are." Children's Librarian Laurel Sharp sent Fox an email telling her of a two-page note left by an LPL patron that said, in part, "this story made me happy and sad. Happy because it is so true. We must remember that looks, so different ...  we are still humans who have emotions and feelings, individual souls and energies. What made me sad was thinking of all these amazing, unique characteristics that make us all special, yet are still treated with negativity from various realms and people within society. ... Thank you for sharing this story. I especially enjoyed the colors and illustration. Peace and blessings."
Fox responded to Sharp: "Thank you very much indeed for this heartwarming email which I will print and keep forever. I didn't know about the StoryWalk until your email arrived. I;n thrilled to bits."
A half-dozen stories rotate in the garden on the Second Street side of our building in the Village of Liverpool.
