When I mentioned how the media is weird about Sam I'm talking about comments like this from Den of Geek:

David Crow, the author, comparing a corrupted politician calling the Thunderbolts 'the Avengers' to save face to Steve passing the mantle, that was his, to Sam. You can't make that up.

Then IGN saying Sam is a jerk after their interview with Thunderbolts screenwriter:

Yeah, could have just said Sam probably has a good reason and leave it at that.

Thunderbolts spoilers

"I don't know why people think they did Sam dirty with this. Lmao. People in universe don't see this team as a real team, because it wasn't assembled by Sam. Literal outrage for nothing and not understanding what was literally in the damn movie. "

What are we not gonna do is act af if there's no pushback in real life against Sam being Captain America and leading the Avengers. That Mcu stans aren't weird when it comes to Sam.

Tantrums were and are still being thrown because Steve gave Sam the shield and not Bucky. Articles were written about it. You had interviewers asking why Sam and not Bucky. They don't care about how Sam is more qualified and Steve and Bucky both want him to have that mantle or how he's popular in-universe.

Sam was villainized through tfaws by fans for not babying Bucky and not babying Walker. They see these white men who didn't treat Sam well and yet write essays about how they're poor little meow meows and Sam is not worthy being Cap because he was supposedly mean to them.

Sam has never being given a fair share by fans and the media. There's constantly articles about Chris coming back. He's always judged on a higher standard. Because if Sam was the one leading a government sanctioned team or talk fondly about his time in the military you'd get essays slagging him and his movie off.

Marvel has been sidelining Sam even after he became Cap. They barely promoted him as such in the past 4 years and now they aren't letting him form his team first .

Cause now, after Bucky and Walker those racist fans now have the Thunderbolts they can use against Sam. People are already saying that they prefer them to Sam's team before we ever get to see it.

Since Thunderbolts came out there's been posts on Twitter and TikTok hating on Sam, one with 8k likes calling him a loser. Calling him petty. Asking how Sam can do this to "Bucky and Natasha's sister." Saying Bucky or Walker should be Cap. How * are the real Avengers.

That's why people are upset.

Lets cut to the bs, you don't care about Sam and Bucky's friendship, nor about Sam being Cap. You don't care about Sam's point blank because you wouldn't make such a stupid post in the first place and villainize Sam without trying to see what his pov might be. Mostly when the movie doesn't even reveal what they told each other.

The Thunderbolts, last I check, is a team. Its not just Bucky. It's a team involving Walmart Cap who killed an unarmed person, nearly killed Sam and got off without psych evaluation. There's also a bunch of people he doesn't even know like Natasha's groomer .

That little ragtag team is formed by a villain. Why would Sam trust Valentina? Why would Sam trust a government that screwed him over multiple times including with that latest Avengers bs?

Sam doesn't think Bucky is worthy of being an Avenger, you say? How do you think Sam might feel seeing Bucky with this team after he confided to him about his doubts and that he was asked to form a new team of Avengers?

Steve and Sam were aligned from The Winter Soldier through Civil War against those in power. Thats one of the reasons Steve gave Sam the shield.

Sam gets the shield but it's given to Walker.

They make Sam the new Captain America and not even two months later they promote Captain Carter like hell and she makes a movie appearance before Sam as Cap.

Sam is forgotten, never gets a mention in any of the 500 projects that comes out after TFATWS. In fact, it's as if TFATWS never happened. Steve meanwhile is mentioned numerous times as THE Captain America.

They teases that he might form a new team of Avengers but a little over two months later Marvel releases a new team of Avengers with John Walker of all people and without Sam's involvement.

Sam gets a mention finally after 4 years only to be called dumb.

THE MET GALA 2025 CO-CHAIRS

To anyone who follows me, I don't care about nor trust Colossal Biosciences anymore (The people behind the "Wooly Mice"). They have proven themselves to be headline-chasing grifters after this latest stunt. They are claiming to have de-extincted *Aenocyon dirus*, aka the Dire Wolf, by editing just 20 genes from the the DNA of a Grey Wolf (*Canis lupus*) to make this thing:

If it wasn't clear from their scientific names, Grey Wolves and Dire Wolves aren't remotely related to one another aside from being Canids, despite what pop culture like Game of Thrones would have you believe. If they did look like each other, it would have had to be via convergent evolution, as they only shared a common ancestor over 5 million years ago.

This distinction, however, isn't found in the publicized articles about this so-called resurrected Dire Wolf and makes their claim that they brought the Dire Wolf back by simply editing *20* genes from the genome of a Grey Wolf laughable. A Dire Wolf would have shared more in common genetically with a Maned Wolf (*Chrysocyon brachyurus*) or Bush Dog (*Speothos venaticus*) than it would with a Grey Wolf.

Bottom line, don't fall for whatever this company is trying to tell you. If the Dire Wolf were to be brought back, it wouldn't be via something like this, and certainly wouldn't *look* like this. If you want an idea as to how a real Dire Wolf would look like in life, here is some fantastic paleoart by artist Mauricio Antón:

Addendum: I seem to have partially miscalculated Dire Wolf genetics. They were not closer to Maned Wolves or Bush Dogs, but they were still not closely related to Grey Wolves. They were basal members of Canini, related to canids like Jackals (genus Lupulella) but distinct from them. I am sorry for this misinformation in my attempt to correct other misinformation. My main point, however, is still correct.
