My apologies to all of the RPers I have left hanging. I’m working on pulling myself out of this...rather long and arduous slump.

Regarding Roleplay and Romance+
The title of this blog is worded in a way to (hopefully) not end up flagged. I'm won't be writing any smut in this particular post, I'm only writing about writing smut....but I've had blogs taken down for less, so we'll see. Sure, it's "only RP", but writing adult content can be intimate, even from behind the masks of our respective characters. That being said, I just like to let my fellow RPers know that while I am comfortable writing erotica, I will never pressure anyone. Maybe my co-writer just doesn't feel comfortable, maybe they need to wait get to know me better, maybe they simply don't enjoy writing it, maybe they're just not in the mood....whatever the case may be, I won't take it personally. Trust me, I'm not that hard up. And honestly? If my fellow RPers aren't into it, it probably won't be all that enjoyable for either of us. I've suffered through "bad smut" as well, and I'd prefer to avoid it. That being said, if the RP is a romantic one (which they often are), sexual intimacy is often an important relationship milestone. If the relationship between characters is to develop and evolve, they probably should get there eventually. But like I said, it doesn't need to be written out in detail if that's not your thing. There's always "implied smut"....and by "implied smut", I mean that things could get heated and then simply "fade to black" or "skip ahead in time to the next morning", or whatever your preference. We don't have to write it out, and you're welcome to choose how far things go. If you want to dabble and go a little further each time, that's fine too. This post is just meant to let you know where I stand, so I therefore invite you to let me know your own boundaries (if you wish). Even if you're in the mood one day, and then next time you're just not feeling it, that's fine too. You don't even have to tell me why, but I do encourage my fellow RPers to communicate with me freely. I'm very open minded and laid back, and I don't bite...unless you want me to. I can also write at different levels: Rated G: Pretty much just kissing. Rated PG-13: Things could get heated but the actual smut would be implied and not written out. Rated R: Smut is partially written, kept somewhat vague, with flowery language. NC-17: Smut is written out, probably with more flowery language than adult. Rated X: Detailed smut with adult language. I am LGBTQ+ friendly. I pretty much write all of my characters as Bi/Pan (my other account is Yngvi-Thranduil). My own boundaries are that I will not write adult content with anyone under the age of 18. Even then, there's no guarantee, because: 1. I've been lied to before. 2. I've been doing this a long time, and I've found ways of discerning people's relative maturity levels. Age alone isn't always an indication of maturity, so if I fear someone isn't 'ready', per se....regardless of what age you claim to be, I might be withholding. 3. I give my fellow RPers the right to change their mind at any time, therefore I too reserve that right. I also draw the line when it comes to sexual violence, rape or incest...including adoptive siblings/relatives.

Thranduil X Your Character (Post BotFA RP)
The Elvenking’s Halls seemed far emptier than they were before. Even the echoes that bounced off the cave walls felt as though they were somehow amplified. The Battle of the Five Armies had come to a close, and what was left of the Woodland Realm’s Forces had finally returned home. A good deal of Elvish blood had been spent during that war, but they also lost not only their Captain of the Guard, but their Prince.
Legolas’s absence was felt keenly by his father. Their relationship had suffered prior to The Prince’s decision not to return. Thranduil understood all too well that this was his own fault. His own stubbornness and outmoded beliefs and expectations had created the rift between himself and his heir. After the loss of his wife, The King had fallen into a depression the likes of which mortals were unlikely to fathom. In time, the weight of his responsibilities and the lack of true companionship had taken it’s toll. The propriety of The Sindar King’s station required that he keep the majority of his subjects at arm’s length, lest he show weakness or even favoritism. This meant he had no one he could simply relax and be himself around. No one who’s company he could truly enjoy. His son was the last link to a real connection with another that he had.
It is a staggering sort of loneliness, to be surrounded by others while remaining disconnected from them.
Now that he had settled back in at home, Thranduil would need to do his best to remain occupied. Something happened to him during that last battle, during his interactions with Mithrandir….something had finally ‘clicked’ inside his ancient mind. Perhaps locking himself and his people away to merely endure through the ages was not the best use of their time, energy and resources. His Armies could be a force for good in this world, and if Legolas was out there seeking new purpose, perhaps his father could learn something from this example. The student becomes the teacher: Everything The Prince had learned throughout his life, he had learned from his father. It was true that Thranduil was stern and perhaps particularly hard on his son, but there was no question that he loved the Younger Sindar more than life.
The tall, elegant figure of The Elvenking stood before the platform that held his own throne and contemplated wistfully. His armies needed time to recover, replenish and rebuild. There were more battles to come, of that he was certain. Perhaps a time would come when he would even give his own life, as his father did before him. For now he made his way over to a small table and poured himself a glass of red wine. If nothing else he was patient, he could wait.
//Yeah, it’s a little vague as Starters go, but I just wanted to paint a picture of time and place, and where Thranduil is mentally/emotionally/physically…while leaving it somewhat open for the inspiration of anyone who wishes to reply. Feel free to contact me if you would like to RP, but have something else in mind.

Common Guidelines for Roleplay
(Yes, I have posted this before, but every now and then it deserves an update)
Yes, there are exceptions to every rule, but trying your best to adhere to these basic guidelines will not only make you a better RPer, but help to ensure a more positive RP experience for you and your co-writers.
DO NOT POWERPLAY
Powerplaying occurs when a writer operates someone else's character without the other writer's consent. This should be obvious, but you can only control the actions and dialog of your own character. If you wish to control and direct every character, then you should switch to writing fanfiction.
Examples: Instead of writing: "My character pushes your character off a cliff", you simply write: "My character attempts to push your character off a cliff"; or instead of: "Your character walks into the room and sees my character", you could write: "My character waits for your character to enter the room and notice them", etc.
DO NOT AUTO-HIT
Similar to Powerplay, Auto-hitting is when you are RPing anything that involves physical contact, and you assume success without allowing the other writer a chance to react. Be it positive or negative contact, you must allow the other RPer a choice (yes, even if it's as innocent as a hug or kiss). They must be given a chance to block, counter or "take a hit" when fighting, and they must also be allowed to accept or reject affection.
An RPer who's character has "taken a hit" also gets to decide how much damage has been done to their own character, just like they get to decide how the character responds to affectionate touch. On that note, it should go without saying, that never, under any circumstances should anyone assume to kill off someone else's character without express consent.
As with all of these guidelines, there are always grey areas and exceptions...such as when writing Erotica. Once consent has been established, you can usually assume that the other character is going to allow your character to give them pleasure (though it's worth noting that consent can be retracted at any time - just like in real life). Waiting for your writing partner's character to accept each and every touch would probably get a bit tedious, but at the same time you should never go so far as to assume their reactions. For example, your character might wrap their arms around the other character and kiss their neck, or even remove an article of their clothing, but how the other character responds is up to your co-writer. Plus, everyone is different...so just like real life sex, communication is key.
DO NOT GOD-MOD
God-modding is when a character features god-like abilities. Even when RPing a "God" or God-like character, the writer must establish weaknesses and ways in which to keep that character in check (even Superman has weaknesses). It is important to avoid unfair powers such as invincibility, mind control or mind reading (most of which only work if/when your co-writers are willing to play along anyway).
It is also considered god-modding to refuse to allow your character to take a hit/get hurt in fights, deflect any and all attacks, or even ignore other characters in scenarios in which their own character is being attacked. If you do this, you can guarantee that most people will avoid writing with you.
Also, if a writer chooses to RP a human, and end up in a fight with a supernatural character, the writer should be willing to take their character's disadvantages into consideration and take more hits/damage. But as stated before, the writer with the supernatural character should also give their co-writer the opportunity to exploit their character's weaknesses.
DO NOT MARY-SUE
A Mary-Sue is essentially a character who’s too perfect; one that is lacking realistic or logical flaws, or whose flaws do not affect them in any real way. Oftentimes these characters are OCs, and basically just a perfected version of the writer, only with special skills/abilities/powers, and a new look. Essentially, the creator is inserting themselves into the story, but without the flaws, quirks & limits that make them interesting and relatable.
(Artist unknown)
DO NOT METAGAME
Metagaming is a term which describes a writer's use of OOC knowledge to determine their character's actions, when the character themselves has no relevant awareness. Your character doesn't always know what you know, so try to remember that and have them act/react accordingly.
Examples would be a character somehow being prepared or predicting attacks and strategy based upon the writer's knowledge, when the character themselves has no way of knowing; or something as simple as a character knowing another character's name before they've even been introduced. Reacting empathetically to negative behavior because the writer feels they have an understanding of that character's trauma also falls into this catagory. In other words, If my character is being a dick, then it stands to reason that another character would react negatively...regardless of whether or not their writer understands why my character is being a dick.
DO NOT LOREBREAK
Lorebreaking is when a character breaks known/canon lore. Lorebending, a similar term, is when existing lore is lightly modified. I put this near the bottom of the list because people often choose to Roleplay AU or "Alternate Universes" with a Canon Character, and change things up for the sake of creative vision. Which is fine, as long as your co-writers are fine with it as well.
Roleplayers who choose to create OCs who are in any way connected to a canon character (a relative, long-time friend or lover/spouse, etc.), should at least do their research regarding the canon character they are connected to, and stay as true to that lore as possible.
This rule overall can get a bit hazy when you have both book and film lore that do not entirely agree. In this case it is perfectly okay to choose either. As always, talk to your fellow roleplayers and figure out what works for both of you.
IN ADDITION:
- Please have patience and respect your co-writer's free time. There are many reasons as to why a reply might take longer than one would expect: real life responsibilities, inspiration, physical/mental/emotional issues, or maybe they just like to take their time. Even if they vanish and never reply again, try not to take it personally and move on. Regardless of the situation, don't pressure them; it will just make you less fun to write with.
- Be cautious of making an RP all about your character (particularly in group RPs). Your co-writers are not NPCs nor are they merely supporting characters to your own. Trust me when I say, no one will want to write with you if you do this.
- It is also wise to avoid attempting to be The Director of any given RP. If you have a very specific story line in mind, a fantasy that you've played out in your head and want to act out...you're probably better off writing a Fanfiction. Do not try to dictate what your RP partner chooses to write. That saps the fun right out of the RP.
- I would also remind RPers that this is fantasy....therefore anything can happen. So...please don’t play it “safe”. Yes, there are potential repercussions to everything your character says and does, but it's only fiction, so go for it. Be bold. Being too passive makes for boring RP. If you're really unhappy with how things turned out afterwards, ask for a do-over. The worst that can happen is your fellow RPer says "no", and you have to find a more creative way to mend things (which is actually a decent life lesson).
I did my best to keep this concise, but if anything on this list is still unclear, you can always look it up online, or...as I keep saying...just ask. The key element here is communicating with your fellow RPers. And don't stress about it, there's a reason they're called "guidelines" rather than "rules". If you want to break/bend them, just discuss it with your writing partner(s). And if you accidentally break a guideline and get called out on it, just learn from it and keep practicing. None of us is perfect. Even I break these from time to time....usually when I get overly enthusiastic. But since I am aware of the guidelines, and normally do my best to follow them, my co-writers are almost always gracious and forgiving. I mean, it's only RP...it's a hobby, and it's meant to be fun.

Loki is the beginning and end of all stories
The story in The Avengers begins with Loki and the Tesseract, and that story ends (Endgame) exactly the same, except that the first time Loki arrives on Earth through the portal that he opens thanks to space stone and in the end he flees from that same Earth opening the same portal again, have you noticed that?

The more Loki worked on his mastery in the art of deception, the more watchful he became. In order to get away with dishonesty, one needed to understand it's tells: the micro-expressions and non verbal cues that were typical of someone attempting to lie. He couldn't learn how not to do these things if he didn't first understand what they were. This manner of study turned The Trickster into a keen observer, his eyes often scrutinizing every gesture and mannerism. That is, at least when someone interested him enough to do so.
The other male's response to the suggestive nature of Loki's comment wasn't exactly easy to read, as it neither encouraged nor discouraged further flirtation. This caused the corners of his lips to curl slightly, as he enjoyed a challenge. He also enjoyed the company of those who proved not to be utterly transparent. It wasn't as though he didn't have his fun with the 'Open Book' types as well, he simply had a tendency to grow bored with them a lot more quickly. The Silvertongue himself had learned to be cryptic of speech at a young age, for the less others knew, the more he managed to get away with.
When the man he now knew as Dakotah began to explain why he was out roaming the streets on this particular night, Loki nodded in understanding. He continued to quietly listen as the other male repeated his rather infamous name, that sly smirk returning to his face when the other male thought he might recognize it.
"I can't imagine where...."
Loki offered with an inflection and expression that were playfully sarcastic, following up his statement with a charismatic smile (gif). It was almost as if he was both suggesting that it was surprising to hear that Dakotah had heard the name before, but also not.
"Perhaps there is somewhere two fine gentlemen such as ourselves can go to get a drink? My treat."
Turning on his heel he looked around at the various buildings and closed storefronts while gesturing with his hands; effectively changing the subject while also avoiding giving an answer to any previous questions. He then began to slowly walk backwards, as if beckoning his new mortal friend to follow.

Perhaps it was the cold wind that bit at his ears and neck in the middle of late July that threw him off. Sending memories not so fond up his spine. Or, mayhaps, it was the way his vision flickered and most before him seemed almost like looking through a rippling body of water. But maybe the medley between the two was what brought him to the curious conclusion that an eerir presence was ever creeping close.
He turned, brows furrowed. It was roughly a quarter past ten thirty at night. The streets mostly vacant than the strolling drunkards and rowdy teenagers that meandered on their marry ways. The buggies that rolled past by in only couples every half an hour at the least. Pavement slick and damp, and alley’s rank of overflowing dumpsters.
Dakotah Springfield, the rugged ginger and almost a shell of a man came upon the area when a certain hunch of, just… Something.. drew him in that area. yet that he found was little to the eyes could see. Nothing.. But what he felt on the other hand, was simply growing stronger.
“Who’s there?”, He finally spoke, foolishly if not bravely to the darkness of the impending night.

//My apologies for the delay, but thank you for your patience.
The corners of Loki's mouth curled into a smirk when the other male complimented his presence. His eyes narrowing when he considered the comment about being able to 'feel' it. Not many mortals were quite that perceptive, in his experience.
When the other male asked him why he was skulking around in alleyways, The Trickster stopped leaning against the building and took a couple steps forward. He paused wordlessly and looked the intriguing human up and down, without trying to hide the fact that he was doing so.
"Perhaps I shall reveal my reasons if you do. In other words: I'll show you mine if you show me yours."
Now the corners of his mouth curled into a sly and somewhat flirtatious smile. Without waiting for a response, the tall, thin male clad in leather continued:
"I'm Loki...and you are?"
