Us Spawn of The Lords in Black: Part 10
And here we go, the family reunion! This took so much longer than I thought it would.
Enjoy and be gentle ---
As Bill and Ted watched anxiously beside him, Paul flicked through the Black Book.
It wasn't the first time. He had looked through it briefly the same night they'd unearthed it. After a handful of pages, he'd tucked it away feeling both extremely unsettled and eerily content. But he had seen the page they needed. In a matter of moments, Paul found it again.
And so, there they were. About to summon otherworldly entities in the middle of the office during an active work day. All before ten o'clock.
For a moment, they all hesitated. Then Ted cleared his throat and spoke, "We invoke the names." And Paul and Bill followed along. "Pokotho, Bliklotep," each name flowed off their tongues flawlessly, as if a part of them recognised them, "T'noy Karaxis, Nibblenephim, Wiggog Y'wrath."
Their voices seemed to echo around the room after they'd finished. For about a minute, they waited. Nothing happened.
"Fuck," Ted whispered, letting his head drop into his hands. Frowning in confusion, Paul reread the passage, muttering softly to himself. "Maybe it needs to be done at night?" Bill offered, "They are the Lords in Black, after all." "I can't see anything about specifically when to do it," Paul stated, shaking his head while checking the pages before and after the ritual. "Well," Ted raised his head sharply, "now what-?"
There was a knock at the door. The sound of it was sharp, piercing, like a pair of jaws snapping shut. Paul, Bill and Ted were silent, eyes fixed on the door. Carefully, Paul closed the book and hid it in his suit jacket. Ted cleared his throat: "Come in."
The door opened.
The person on the other side clearly wasn't anyone from the office. Nothing really stood out other than the bright pink clothes and hair, and the wide red lipped grin. But Paul, Bill and Ted knew who this person was. Knew it deep in their very souls, from just a look. "Nephews," Nibblenephim greeted with a deep raspy voice, lips never once obscuring its pearly white teeth. "..Hey, Uncle Nibblenephim?" Bill cautiously greeted back as Paul and Ted simply waved slightly. Nibbly's grin somehow managed to widen even more. "Come on," he gestured with its head, "The others are waiting."
Nobody walked by or even acknowledged them as they walked past cubicles towards the meeting room. Nibblenephim knocked on the door and poked its head inside: "Wiggly! I've got 'em!" "Ah! Thank you, Nibbly! Come on in!" Wiggly's voice chirrped. As Nibbly skipped in eagerly, Paul, Bill and Ted followed more subdued.
Party decorations were littered around the room. Even the table was covered in a black cloth dotted with little colourful cartoons. And around this table, the rest of the Lords in Black sat.
"Hello again, kiddie winks!" Wiggly, who looked shockingly identical to Paul but with neon green hair, crowed, "Come in, sit, sit!" Seeing as only three specific chairs were left, they each gravitated towards the seated Lords who could only be their fathers. "So what's with all the party stuff?" Ted asked as he sat. "This is a special occasion, Teddy Bear!" T'noy Karaxis, with bright yellow clothes and two party hats on his head, giggled, "You boys are growing so fast."
Around the table, the Lords all nodded, Blinky even mimed wiping a tear from the corner of its eye. "You mean this was meant to happen?" Bill asked in confusion. "Yes and no," Pokotho answered, its own face near identical to his, "Given the nature of our being, it honestly would have been more of a shock if none of you began developing... abilities of your own." As he spoke, Pokotho pulled out a generiously sized cupcake and handed it to Paul. "So, you'll help us with them?" Paul carefully asked, hands cupped around the weighty treat. "Of cource we will!" Blinky smiled as he handed Bill a similar but violently purple cupcake. "Already working on some ideas," Tinky grinned as Ted accepted his own cupcake, "Shouldn't be too long before it's ready." "And it would do you all some good to be back in home," Wiggly concluded with a satisfied nod.
Bill blinked at the sheer speed of everything, his eyes flicking over to Paul and Ted. Ted silently shrugged with a mildly terrified expression as Tinky pulled him into a side hug. And Paul just ate his cupcake in silence while Pokotho watched with clear delight.
Bill gave a quiet sigh and started to unwrap his own cupcake. At least the problem was (mostly) solved.

So, here's Paul as a grumpus!
I think I accidentally made his fur colour darker than I meant, but otherwise, I'm happy with it.

OK, got some Grumpus designs going in my head. I'm going to draw them as those headshot stickers seen in-game for now, but that will likely change in the future.

Hatchetfield Prompt #1
The Lords in Black cast a teenie, tiny, little curse on Hatchetfield. Nothing too large, but just enough to... ruffle some feathers.

My Hatchetfield video game concept
A kart racer.
The plot would simply be that the Lords in Black got bored and decided to see what all the fuss around racing is about and take their favourite (and some... less so) humans to participate. This would also help justify the tracks: they would be modified recreations of actual locations in Hatchetfield (and elsewhere), but physically be in the Black and White.
Maybe there would also be a bunch of B-plots as the racers bond between races as they try to survive and avoid ticking off their "sponsors."
Possible tracks include:
All of the Black Altars
Watcher World
Downtown Hatchetfield
The Witchwood
P.E.I.P. HQ
Naturally, each Lord would have their own cup, and the last race is a one-on-one against them.

With the benefit of hindsight, I probably should have considered this question before posting Sudden Scene Change: Part 1. But, at least Dunsparce helped narrow it down somewhat. So,

Sudden Scene Change: Part 1
So, this idea came at the perfect time, eh? For reference, this begins between Show Stoppin' Number and America Is Great Again.
Enjoy and be gentle ---
It was a perfectly normal afternoon when a hole suddenly ripped open in the sky. Alarms rang in several different places, for multiple reasons. Eyes both human and other, close and far away, stared up at it in awe and confusion.
It was only open for under a minute. Just long enough for three figures to fall through.
---
For Paul, Emma and Ted, there was no warning. No sound, no bright light, nothing. They were about to leave Professor Hidgens' panic house, and then they were falling.
There wasn't even enough time to scream before they landed. Hard.
By the time Paul was able to blink up at the sky, he caught only a final snapshot of the island he'd lived his whole life. Before the sky stitched itself back together. And Hatchetfield was gone.
Paul stared for a few seconds longer before a cough startled him back to his surroundings. "Shit," Emma wheezed to his left while Ted moaned above them. "Emma!" Paul quickly sat up with a wince," Are you okay?" "Yeah, I'm good," Emma nodded as she too sat up, "What the fuck just happened?" "I- I don't know," Paul stated, eyes flicking back up as if the hole would reform at will.
The sound of a twig snapping jolted through the three of them like a taser. In a flury of motion, Ted pushed himself away from the bushes where the sound originated, only stopping when his back met Paul's chest.
Eyes fixed on the bush, they all huddled together and waited. The leaves twitched before something promptly emerged.
It looked vaguely like a stubby snake with wings. Somehow, those tiny wings allowed it to hover above the ground. Yellow and blue scales covered it from large rounded head to cone-shaped tail.
Paul, Emma and Ted stared at it. They didn't know what else to do. So, they just watched it idly float along the ground without a care in the world. Then it froze, and turned its head towards them. Somehow perceieving them with closed eyes. Before any of them could move or react, its cone-shaped tail suddenly started digging at the earth below it like a drill, fleeing into the ground tail first.
Paul, Emma, and Ted could only stare at the mound of dirt left behind. "What. The fuck. Was that?" Ted breathed after some time. Silence followed, but so did understanding.
The understanding that they were definitely not in Hatchetfield anymore. That they all had lost every last trace of their old lives. But they were free from Them.
Slowly, relief settled into each of them in different ways. Paul's shoulders slacked slightly. Emma leaned into Paul and breathed. And Ted, he just looked down at the ground. "We- We should get moving," Emma said quietly after a moment, "Looks like it be dark soon." "Okay," Paul whispered with a nod as he got up. Ted said nothing but followed suit. And off they went into the woods.

Red Coffee: What If... Emma Got Turned?
If I'm going to be honest @the-implications, I think the main fic is going on a bit of an hiatus. Plus, that second what if idea I had doesn't seem that great with hindsight. But this one, I feel it's interesting at least.
Enjoy and be gentle ---
Paul Matthews was keeping a secret. It wasn't really his secret. And honestly, if it was anyone other than Emma's secret, he likely wouldn't keep it. At least, not without running as fast and far away as physically possible.
Because somehow, vampires were real. And Emma was now one of them.
As soon as she'd came back after her "sickness", it was clear to Paul that something had changed. Emma was wearing her visor. This wasn't that strange, it was techincally part of the Beanie's uniform. But it wasn't the only thing.
Emma was wearing a different shirt, one with longer sleeves, and was wearing actual pants. "Yeah, apparently my skin decided now was the time to start really fucking hating sunlight," she explained with a slight wince as she made his coffee.
During their date, Paul couldn't help but notice everything else. How cool her skin felt. How still the veins in her wrist felt. The visible sharpness of the fangs in her mouth. It all painted a picture that Paul could not ignore. And yet, he honestly didn't feel worried. Because he knew Emma. She wouldn't hurt him. She was still the woman he trusts.
Which left Paul one very important question: What does he do now? Should he tell her that he knows? But how would he even do that?
Those questions kept him up that night. Paul tossed and turned, scenarios flowing without permission across his brain until the sun rose. Thankfully, it was his day off. As he slowly ate his breakfast, Paul idly scrolled through the internet on his phone. How he ended up on Wikipedia was beyond him. But the title of the article had Paul blink and give his phone his full attention.
Blood as food.
Scrolling through, Paul could feel a plan forming behind his eyes. Yes, it was perfect. Although it did leave him with a whole new batch of questions: Can Emma even digest animal blood? Where is he going to get the blood? What on earth was he going to say? And, what should he make?
Pancakes, Paul ultimately decided. Quick, easy, and something he was familiar with. "Okay, okay," with a recipe in hand, Paul got dressed, and prayed that the butchers would have what he needed.

Now in colour!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here we see the result of listening to Brains! by Aurelio Voltaire shortly after Let It Out. I even had a fic idea attached to it, but I decided against it (although, I might revisit it in the future).
I'm not quite content with how the meteor looks, but considering I did it from rough memories of the prop used, it doesn't look too bad I think. Hopefully, the colour version will help buffer out some of the other iffy details.
I should be done with the colour version sometime next week.
