FUCK IT here is an unfinished comic I made in 2018 because art school + commercial animation job was kicking my ass.

3rd page is cleaned up sketch and 4th page is literally my first pass thumbnails. The only way I was going to finish this was if I did a complete style rehaul and I don’t think I will be able to get around to that anytime soon. So uh…enjoy?

Sorry if this is a weirdly phrased question but how do you take an idea (such as a group hunting down an assassin in like a fantasy setting) and turn it into enough of a plotline that it takes the book to make it from point A to point B (climax of finding assassin) to point C (ending the book with the falling action)?

You definitely need some side plots and you need setbacks. Your story can't go directly from point A to B to C, it needs detours. Make a list of the plot points you have already and then insert some side adventures, some detours, some problems and solutions and some seemingly inconsequential scenes to show your characters' personalities and who they really are.

Hey, I need a bit of advice. I'm kindof new to writing, and I know that there's a lot of stuff that goes into writing before you start the story, such as building the characters etc. Do you have like a basic overview of the things that should definitely be done before I try to write things out into a story? Also, what is a character arc and how do I write one? I hope this ask makes sense.

There is so much going into a story. But this is not the format to analyse every little detail of it and you also just wanted a basic overview before you start, so here it is.

Basic overview: How to write a story?

Theme

What kind of story do you want to tell?

What do you want to write about?

What genre do you want to write in?

What is your target audience?

Is there a message you want to convey?

Specific issues you want to highlight?

What narrator do you want to tell the story?

 Structure

Before you start you need a rough idea on where to start and where to end

Beginning

Who is there in the beginning and where are they?

Ending

Who is still left and where do they end up?

Bear in mind that a story doesn’t need a happy ending, it just needs a satisfying one

Middle part (you don’t need to know this in detail)

you just need a few scenes to make a timeline

you need to kind of know how to get from the beginning to the end

you will need ups and downs and twists

Some major plot points for the middle part

When and how does the MC meet the other characters?

Key scenes to further the plot

A few scenes you already know you want to have in the story

Characters

How to create a character? (Tips for creating and developing characters)

Who is your MC?

How many MCs do you have?

How many important characters do you need?

Character arc – your character can’t stand still; they need some kind of drive or problem that is a change to what their life was before

You have to send them on a journey, they have to overcome things you threw in their way

At the end of the story something has to have changed for them

 This is just some basic stuff, so if you or anyone else wants some part of this a little bit more detailed let me know.

🌟 Project Update! 🌟

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give you all a quick update on where things are at with the orders. We hit a few unexpected snags with file transfers and formatting issues relating to the provided templates while working with our printing company. The good news is that everything has been sorted out, and production on the physical copies is officially underway! We're still aiming to have all orders shipped out by the end of May but will keep you updated if we run into any more roadblocks. While it won’t be quite as early in the month as we initially hoped, things are moving forward now and we’re so grateful for your patience during this little delay. They are coming—we promise! Thank you again for sticking with us, and we can’t wait for you to finally have your decks in hand!

THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN LAST WEEK AT MY LOCAL KMART. YES, THAT IS A SEALED VHS TAPE OF JIMMY NEUTRON THE MOVIE, IN 2014, AT KMART, SITTING NEXT TO DVDS AND BLU-RAYS, PRICED AT $8.99 

To give perspective, this film was released on VHS in 2002 and has been sitting unopened in a Kmart store for 12 years, longer than children now in middle school. 

Plain proof that no one does inventory or gives a shit at any Kmart anywhere. Someone could probably live in Kmart and have no one notice.

AU where the trio are Tucker, Danny,and Val instead of Tucker, Danny, and Sam. Val's there at the accident and everything, and becomes the Red Huntress to help Danny fight ghosts while Tucker (admittedly awful in the field) works on the tech behind the scenes (and gets several job offers after the disasteroid because he built Val's suit and all their weapons). Danny and Val are the perfect ghost-fighting couple, and their first official date is pretty much designing new suits for each other.

yooo I would be down for seeing an AU like this!! I just feel bad for Tucker man I bet his jealousy would like be even worse though I mean he was already jealous that Danny had the powers sorta kinda and felt like a third wheel between Danny and Sam and not really listened to jUst think about this and Valerie and Tucker gettting int o actual fights “you don’t have anything to attack them against” “i built that suit, didn’t I!?” “yea but do you know how to use it effectivey!?” He would feel so left out on the sidelines hhhhhh sorry its a good au im just diving into the emotionals hhhhhh

I just want you all to know, that if and when this site does experience a real exodus and/or get sunsetted for good, even if we don't keep in touch I'll remember you so fondly. You're the online equivalent of the other kid on the beach where we built sandcastles together; the girl at the campsite where we explored the trees. You're the drunk person who shared kind words in the bathroom at the club, you're the talented artists at the life drawing class or the poetry night in a city where I don't live anymore. It makes me sad that maybe in the future our paths won't cross so easily, but even when we leave this little shared piece of cyberspace, carried away on our briefly intersecting trajectories, just know I still love you
