It's been such a rough year and it's just started. I don't know what to do. It's one thing for something to happen, but when the family phone breaks, then the washer goes, and I still haven't filed last year's quarterly taxes because buying Christmas presents for the kids was more important... Everyday feels like I'm drowning, just trying to keep my head above the water. I thought 2020 would be the worst of it, but it's just gotten progressively harder. I never dreamed that 2024 would be financially tougher than 2020... I don't know what to do anymore.

The Northern Pacific coast experience was much different than elsewhere in coastal North America and Canada. Mostly the skies felt like a cold exhale, grey and dampened with spit. Most days the land looked the same. It was an amazing environment for brooding artists and authors, but not so great for those suffering from vitamin D deficiency or seasonal depression.
They say there's not much a hot cup of Joe, or tea, can't cure, but when it's the cure everyday, it wears a little thin. And the cure turns into more of a bandaid while you hemorrhage what little sanity and happiness you can hold onto. And pretty soon, you turn into a human version of a rat, nails dug into the white ceramic of your cup as you cling to that last little glimpse of hope.
... take and make it your own, I shamelessly spit this out while I was waiting for my script...

Acrylic marker doodle - it's my first time playing with these fun things! I always wanted to be a kid's book illustrator. Maybe in the next life.

I started reading The Golden Shrike after stumbling across it and y'all - I haven't been this invested since reading Black Blood Alliance on dA. So here's a little deer.

September's bouquet was one of a hurried harvest. The bright yellow and crimson swaths of blanketflower against the magenta of cosmos while the last of the tomatoes and cucumbers ripened on the vine. It was a time of bright blue mornings yet to be touched by the crisp of autumn. And a time of clear evenings, in which the color of sunset seemed to swallow up the expanse of the sky as the Evening Star graced us with its presence.

Perhaps a fairy came to visit. A little bouquet left on your garden wall. Or maybe just a child, who admired your wildflowers so much they had to pick them.

What was your favorite book or animated series as an early teen? ╰(*´︶`*)╯Shameless to say, I was huge into the Redwall series. Sorry mum, I've liked anthros ever since I watched Disney's Robin Hood.
Nobody understands the bond between a girl and the mediocre book she read when she was 13 years old.

It ain't like the Blockbuster you remember, but as soon as those doors swing open the nostalgia hits you like a ton of bricks. Every fond and not so fond memory of your childhood comes rushing back in a surge of terrible patterns and the distant smell of popcorn.
Everything you can imagine on VHS, apparently digital and streaming are out the window. Speaking of windows...the moon doesn't quite look like it should ...
