“My phone rang, and it was a text message from you. You wrote me that you were locked in your room because Rowena tried to take you by force. I went mad and I came as fast as I could. The first thing I saw was fire. I had no idea what happened. I ran inside to your room, and I realized that the lock was unlocked, I thought she took you, until I heard your screams from outside the house. You were fighting with Rowena because she was holding you back. She didn’t let you to come in the house.”

“So, she took me.”

“No, Serena. The text message I received, was by Rowena, you ran off from your window and you were hiding until you watched me run into the house and you tried to stop me.”

“But, I didn’t.”

“Rowena stopped you. I saw you from the window and then I realized it was a trap. I run downstairs, to the kitchen, tried to get out from the back door, but a moment before, a small explosion in your room forced me to fall on the floor. It was at your room because she hoped I would be there, and she wanted to kill me fast. The fire became stronger. I was injured, but I managed to stand up and walk to the back door when I heard you calling me from the hallway, so I walked back to you. I fell, I hit my head, you found me. You helped me to stand, I told you to run but you refused. You tried to reach out the door, with me, I kneeled, you lifted me up again,” he sighs, “while we were walking, a wall fell towards us, I pushed you away to protect you. You thought it fell on me, but I screamed your name, and you knew I was still alive. You stood up again and you came close to me. You tried to help me stand, but you couldn’t and…” He looks down, he seems thoughtful.

His face scares me, it’s full of pain. He looks like he’s dreaming, but not in a good way. It looks like he’s watching a nightmare. I have to bring him back. “John?” I say quietly, he doesn’t react, “John!” I raise my voice.

He looks at me. “You used your powers and pushed me out of the house. That’s how you saved me.”

I enter the basement and I see my grandmother, Rowena. Tied up in a chair. John aims her head with a gun.

“John what are you doing? Untie her!”

“Tell her,” he says w a heavy voice.

“Please don’t do this,” answers Rowena.

“John please!” I shout at him.

“Tell her what happened w Sam that year and how her sister died.”

“What?” I quaver.

“Tell her truth,” John insists.

“I… I love her! I wanted to protect her!”

“Tell her about Sam.”

“It wasn’t Sam… it was him,” she raises her head to John, “you were falling for him, I told you he was your stepfather, who raped you… you sent him a way but after a few days you asked to see him and to talked to him but I blocked his way…. He never came.”

“What…?”

“Tell her why her sister died…” he pushes the gun harder.

“Don’t…” she whispers.

“Tell her why those men and that women came to the house.”

“Please…”

“You did it,” I whisper. “You planned this whole thing… why?”

“Because I wanted to take you and go! This little sister kept you back in your life and him… I tried to hard to take you away and he found you. He never loved you! He uses you!”

She screams but I hear nothing. Tears are falling from eyes. Everything I did, everything I said to Sam… and to John later… I hurt two people who loved me because of her. I didn’t believe them, I accused them for my dark past, for all the pain… but they never hurt me. Everything fell apart for once more.

“I packed my things, I’ve done everything I need to and then I lied on my bed and I was thinking about you.”

I smile.

“You were right. It’s hard to stay away when you’re too close.”

“Will you stay with me?” I ask.

“For as long as you want me to,” he answers.

He lies next to me. I put my head on his chest. I missed hearing his heart beat. I hug him and hold him tight. I don’t want him to go. I want him to stay with me, but I know that when I’ll open my eyes in the morning he won’t be here.

[Serena’s Diary]

Someone knocks the door. I open it and see Johan.

“Serena.”

“What are you doing here?”

“What are you doing here. I thought that you will come back.”

“You thought wrong. You don’t need to visit me that often.”

“I visited you six months ago.”

“I won’t come back.”

“Why?”

“I have a life here; I like it. I like being alone and”

Alec enters the house. Johan looks Alec from head to toes.

“Alec this is Johan, an old friend. Johan this is Alec, a –”

“A new friend,” says Johan.

“Hello, Johan, um I have to take a bath, Serena, you need it too.”

“I’m coming.”

Alec leaves, Johan watches him and then turns to me.

“Who is this guy?”

“Johan, it’s better to leave.”

“I thought that you will wait for him.”

“I moved on.”

“I can see that,” he stares at me angry, he sighs, “you’re right, I better go. Wish you a happy life. You deserve it.”

I nod, he leaves, and I close the door. I feel a sharp pain in my chest. I close my eyes and try to breath. I feel Alec’s hand on my waist, I turn to face him. My eyes are blurry.

“They asked me to go back, save them, help them, they asked me to wait, live my life.”

“Serena…” he looks at me sad.

“No one, no one, ever asked me how I feel! I’m suffering! I was dying, I was broken, I was trying to save my self from the darkness, I lost people that I loved, no one was there but him. Him!” tears are falling from my eyes.

He sighs.

“He was always there, fighting for me. He was there for them too but where were they? They didn’t help him; They didn’t fight for him!” I shout, “none! They just continued w their lives!”

“Serena, I know,,” he holds my hands.

“None of them asked me if I could survive without him. No one!” I cry.

“it’s okay,” he wraps his arms around me, “it’s okay,” he whispers.

I cry in his arms, “he fought for everybody, but nobody fought for him.”

“I know.”

“I want him back.”

He holds my face, “We’ll get him back, we will find a way, you know that,” he hugs my again, holds me tight.

‘Alec’ — here is what we know about Alec.

He is a key character. We see him only in the last book [Serena’s Diary]. He has dark eyes, light brown hair and a strong muscular body. He is one of those men who when you look at them you’re unable to take your eyes off them. Women are always around him but he focuses only in one.

He’s Crowley’s worst nightmare and Serena’s guardian ‘angel’. He is a pure-blood demon. He is well trained. He never lost a fight and he beats John in their first fight in Hell. — there is also a fight between Alec and John and Johan and he beats them both — He’s stronger than any other demon [except Serena] and he has powers like Serena does. He is devoted to her and never leaves by her side. When Serena lives away from her family and her people, he is the only one who is close to her. People are afraid of him and most of the demons hate him. — Sophia, Serena’s daughter loves him —

We don’t know if there is anything romantic between him and Serena but we know that he is a very important part of her life and someone that she can’t live without.

“What would I be without you?” — Serena to Alec.

For many days our writer was looking for the perfect actor about Alec’s role until one night she was watching a movie with Theo and she thought “yes, it’s him! This is Alec!”

She choose Theo James because she said that he was perfect for the role. She never mentioned the reasons he is perfect for this specific role but she said that we will understand why she chose him when we will read the book.
