It is no wonder, the smallfolk will whisper later, that when the King of Winter met the Mother of Dragons, the world spun itself into a cataclysmic revolution of night and summer and every wonderful, terrible thing beneath the white, dispassionate sun. (But if one might ask the queen, the Targaryen witch whose reign is built on fire and shackles of ice, she’ll only shake her head. “You tell yourselves stories,” she chides—but there is a recollection here: her husband is the wolf and she herself is the three-headed dragon and some stories must bear the weight of the truth.) • The dragon and the wolf sit on thrones made of iron and conquest. But every dream of spring is built on the ashes of winter, every reign made of duty has its secrets, and a fledgling love can be just as potent as lust.
a shadow for splendor (let the profane tremble to ask), upcoming fic for Jonerys Orgasmic October 2023, Day 5: Witching Hour

Found this awesome fanart. A kind of alternate end to season 8.
I tried to find the creator and the article the pictures came from said they were made by Midjourney artificial intelligence on Reddit. If that's not true please let me know.

I recently heard about a concept called "the missing stair". The concept as I understand it compares a staircase with a missing stair to a person in a social structure such as a family, friend group, team, company, etc who many people know to be problematic. They can hurt people knowingly or unknowingly and rather than actually addressing the behavior to that person, others around that person instead warn newcomers about the behavior. This "structural fault" in the social staircase becomes quietly accepted and is not fixed. It just continues to hurt others over and over because everyone agrees that it's just easier to ignore than to take on the issue.
I have two of these individuals in my life. I have very indiscreetly attempted to call attention to it and yet... The stairs are still missing. The hurt keeps going.
I have been specifically hurt by these two stairs resulting in a lot of painful and traumatic experiences.
And now I'm beginning to realize that the lack of attention to the problem is becoming my biggest hurt. The whole staircase is compromised and just by attempting to navigate the stairs, even while skipping over the missing one, I'm getting hurt.
The ones I love and who I trust, the ones that claim to love and trust me, are preventing me from being hurt by that stair. No attempt has been made to defend me from the stair. It's causing me to feel resentment towards the whole staircase.
I'm at a loss as to what I should do. All the people in my social structure seemingly understand where I'm coming from and agree with me, they just also think there's no point in fixing the behavior. They've all given up on getting that person to change. But by not doing anything, the residual pain I feel from the injuries I've weathered is beginning to cause me a lot of stress, discomfort and frustration.
Part of me wants to take a hammer to the whole staircase. But what's the point in hurting others the way I've been hurt? It doesn't help anyone, not even me.
The problem now is that I've blocked out the missing stairs and I'm not able to even acknowledge it in order to get the stair fixed.
Idk, this whole thing has turned into a rambling about stairs when the real issue is there's narcissists in my life who are so unaware of how they're hurting people that they think I'm the problem. And when I finally stood up for myself, it has resulted in a crumbling of a relationship. I'm not on speaking terms with one and the other I only speak with because I'm forced to in order to pay my bills. But those people have relationships within my other social structures and I see them doing the same things to those people. Those people are aware of the issues and history I've had with the problematic individuals and they agree that the way I was treated wasn't right or fair. And yet... No one has stood up for me. I've never been defended. I fought my own fight and I lost. And I've been quietly suffering on my own since. People see my wounds, they have empathy for me, but they don't prevent the abuser from continuing to abuse others.

I'm putting this out in to Tumblrland. My brother and sister were saving up to buy a house and start their family and now they're looking at having to start over at square one to cover her bills. If Tumblr could do it's thing and share and spread this, that would be phenomenal!

DAENERYS APPRECIATION MONTH | Day 7: Underrated visions, dreams and prophecies hosted by @fireandbloodsource and @asoiafdaenerysdaily
Azor Ahai – The Prince that Was Promised
“What fools we were, who thought ourselves so wise! The error crept in from the translation. Dragons are neither male nor female, Barth saw the truth of that, but now one and now the other, as changeable as flame. The language misled us all for a thousand years. Daenerys is the one, born amidst salt and smoke. The dragons prove it.” Just talking of her seemed to make him stronger. […]
“The sword is wrong, she has to know that… light without heat… an empty glamor… the sword is wrong, and the false light can only lead us deeper into darkness, Sam. Daenerys is our hope. Tell them that, at the Citadel. Make them listen.” – Maester Aemon [Sam IV, A Feast For Crows]
“From smoke and salt was she born to make the world anew. She is Azor Ahai returned… and her triumph over darkness will bring a summer that will never end… death itself will bend its knee, and all those who die fighting in her cause shall be reborn.” – Haldon Halfmaester [Tyrion IV, A Dance With Dragons]
“When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone. Dragonstone is the place of smoke and salt.”
Jon had heard all this before. “Stannis Baratheon was the Lord of Dragonstone, but he was not born there. He was born at Storm’s End, like his brothers.” – Jon and Melisandre [Jon X, A Dance With Dragons]
…because Dany is Azor Ahai and Jon is Nissa Nissa and I will defend this theory until my last breath.

I understand where people are coming from in the above statements and concerns, but those were things the writers/show runners did. With different writers and show runners, things could be better. I keep stating this, Kit wouldn't walk back into GOT with the same intentions. A lot of actors described actions or behavior one could label as toxic or unprofessional (even if they were too green at the time, or even if those actions were done in jest at the time.) Sophie and Kit were treated just as poorly in some aspects as Emilia from what I recall.
Ultimately I would think Kit told Emilia pretty early on in the process of creating a sequel because he's leaving the decision up to her. They have an opportunity to resurrect her with drogon just flying her away and no one knowing where to. Whether or not they do is completely up to Emilia, as it should be in my opinion.
I don't know if I'm interested in a sequel, I'm not sure if I'd watch it. I'm not interested in the spinoff starting soon. I'll wait until I see opinions I trust before I get myself wrapped back up in this fandom.
There is absolutely no way Dany will be resurrected on the show. They threw in every justification under the sun to make her a mad queen, stuck so firmly to it that most of the cast members were defending the decision, and had clearly made Dany very different on the show because they had likely wanted to go through with it from the start and had debated it. They’ve gotten so much flack for what they did to Dany and chose to stick by that decision, so I doubt they’d reverse that decision.
Plus, Emilia Clarke is not going to go anywhere near that show again, and I don’t think she should. She was tortured on that set, sexualized and objectified (Jason Momoa had to protect her at certain points), and when she was suffering from a neurological illness she was still pushed to her limits and got ripped apart by the general public for “bad acting”. D&D made her deliberately act cold, icy, and emotionless, even though she wanted to depict Dany as the warm loving girl she is. She hated the show ending and she was clearly quite impacted by it. I think she’s moved on from the show and is ready to tackle different projects.

Considering it's Kit who is leading the charge on this one, I doubt very much it's HBO wanting to capitalize. I think this is Kit's way of trying to redeem the dumbfuckery that Jon's character was subjected to.
And honestly, Kit and Emilia grew so close and both of them were broken hearted to see their characters done dirty like that, that it would not surprise me in the least if this is Kit's way of trying to make it up to Emilia and the fans of the series. Emilia said she thinks she's done, but if anyone could convince her to come back, it would be Kit.
My honest to god hope is that Kit went back to GRRM to find out his true intention for those two characters and to try and end the series in a meaningful way for both of them. Even if they both die, they deserve to die in a honest way for the characters and not in some subverted way for shock value.
We all know d&d rushed to the ending so they could move onto bigger projects. The ultimate karma is to watch as they get blacklisted in Hollywood and the people they shit on to get there end up turning the tables and giving a meaningful ending to something that millions of people worldwide deserved after a fucking decade of investment.
This Jon Snow spin-off is giving very much "we want to capitalize on an iconic face from GoT" but since our number one(Dany) got the character assassination and subsequent killing off treatment, I guess Jon will have to do.
We already know a possible Dany resurrection spin-off would be immensely popular but Emilia Clarke probably doesn't wanna touch anything GoT related with a ten-foot pole and rightly so.
Just leave anything that's tied to what D&D wrote alone. There's plenty of interesting, legitimate material for ASoIaF spin-offs. We don't need to go around digging up old trash.

"He has told me. And I know it exists. It's happening. It's been created by Kit as far as I can understand, so he's in it from the ground up. So what you will be watching, hopefully, if it happens, is certified by Kit Harington."

I'm putting out in the universe good vibes and hope that the only reason Kit Harington would sign on to do a Jon Snow sequel is if they brought Emilia Clarke back into it. Hopefully HBO realizes they fucked up and this is their way of apologizing. I'm not holding my breath, but it's the only way I come back to this fandom and re-up a subscription to HBO.
