I know!! I saw that as well. It’s sad. We have PLENTY of white actors. The fact that they didn’t even consider Asian actors is sad. 

REALLY NETFLIX?!

Death Note is my main fandom. THE fandom.. I’m so upset. Netflix could have made something amazing with the American Death Note movie. They could have had an entirely original idea orrrr they could have AT LEAST HIRED JAPANESE ACTORS. Light Yagami, the well-dressed and innocent looking genius was unsuspected. Light Turner (ugh) resembles a zombie - a very suspicious zombie. Also, we barely saw Misa.. Isn’t she like, Mina or something in this?? She is also whitewashed. Of. Course.

Then, of course, you have the whitewashing. Now before someone is like “ohhhh, but L is black!” SO WHAT?! L is Japanese AND ENGLISH, RUSSIAN AND ITALIAN OR FRENCH. 

Neeeext.. What is with the action!movie?? Death Note had action, but the biggest part was the planning, the motive behind the murders, and the genius vs genius cat and mouse game between L and Light. That’s one reason why I fell into total fandom love with Death Note to begin with.

Finally.. This will be the first step into the Death Note fandom for some people and that is such a shame. The manga and anime, and the live action TV drama mini-series are amazing, and I’m even a fan of the movies. There’s also the musicals, and the new Japanese movie!! WITH DIFFERENT CHARACTERS AND A DIFFERENT PLOT. Netflix wanted an American Death Note movie.. So why didn’t they come up with a fresh idea, based here and on new characters??

Swim Freely Alongside Njörðr, Mr. Blubs ~ Mommy and I Love You and We Will Forever

Yesterday, Azure “Mr. Blubs” Roth, my wife’s precious little strong and fierce fighting fish, passed on. I like to think that, maybe he’s with Njörðr, enjoying the sea and the bounties of fish. My wife adopted Mr. Blubs in December of 2015, and he enjoyed so much love, good health, yummy food, swimming around, a safe home that was well decorated and even more love. My wife and I took good care of our little fin baby and we loved and will forever love him. 🐟 If you didn’t catch Mr. Blubs’ name meaning, it’s Azure (because of his color) and Roth, which my wife came up with as a play on a World of Warcraft world name: Azeroth!! But, we called him Mr. Blubs and Blubs, more than anything. 

Njörðr is the Norse God of the sea, seafaring, wind and fishing and more. I read a post about how betta fish - fighting fish - would live with Odin in Valhalla, and while I agree that that is a huge possibility, especially when you consider how strong these babies are, I like to think that Mr. Blubs would enjoy swimming with Njörðr and all of the other fish who are with him. No matter where our Mr. Blubs is, my wife and I hope that he is happy, healthy, safe and protected and feels so much love and warmth and care.

i really love our generation’s joke trend of like, very calm but incredibly inflated hyperbole. like nobody says “oh she’s pretty” anymore we say “i would willingly let her murder me” and everyone is just like “lol same”

i think “same” is also great and “me,” i love when somebody reblogs a picture of like, a lizard, and just says “me” and we all know exactly what they mean. the current online Humor Discourse is remarkable because we trade exclusively in metaphors and implications and nobody ever, ever says anything outright and yet EVERYBODY understands each other perfectly
