Note: I am by no means a professional in health or otherwise. This is personal experience. I made this as a metaphor to help my parents understand me better.

The fight between Laios and Shuro ending with Shuro reminiscing/fantasizing about Falin really did a great job of mirroring what happens in the real world with Autistic Men vs Autistic Women. In my mind, both Laios and Falin are autism coded, and Shuro fights with Laios over how much he hates the autistic traits that Laios has and how annoying he finds them, then immediately goes on to explain he thinks Falin is the most unique woman he's ever met and loves how her mind works. Autistic men are so often thought/depicted of as annoying/cringy/etc while Autistic women are often thought of/depicted as the manic pixie dream girl or the 'not like other girls' girl. It was such an interesting thing to have back to back, cause it really went 'whoa society do think like that so often'.

On Season 2, and the continuation of this blog.
I've been thinking about how to address Season 2 on this blog for a while now. Obviously, it didn't end up happening for the blog anniversary as expected, and there hasn't been any signs of it here since. I feel dishonest for stoking false hopes, and as such it feels essential to clear up confusion on the status of the next season.
As you know, this blog only has 1 operator. I'm not looking for secondary mods at the present, and even if I was I wouldn't know heads from tails as to who to ask. This means that I am solely responsible for all blog maintenance and running the polls. On top of issues pertaining to my real life, I simply haven't had the time or energy to set up the second season yet, especially since it's going to take a much larger scale than the first.
I'd also like to say that I'm not going anywhere. We aren't deactivating the blog or going radio silent forever, this is just a notice saying that Season 2 likely won't be for a while longer while I manage some personal stuff that can't be put off for the sake of running a tumblr competition. I do want Season 2 to happen, I don't want to leave everyone hanging and I especially don't want this blog to go cold without so much as a notice as to why.
To summarize:
Season 2 is coming, likely some time this summer as I won't have the free time for it for a while
I've been absent because there's only 1 of me, and I've been too busy with other matters to manage this blog at the same time
I'm not deactivating the blog, nor do I ever intend to
Thank you all for your patience in sticking around, and I'll see you again in Season 2.

So, I posted my previous "autism monster" on reddit and someone had the gall to say it wasn't "monstrous enough". And I took that personal!
So I took on the challenge and set out to create something truly horrifying. So I present to you: The Autism Abomination!
It's my first time drawing something in this style, but I hope I actually did it well enough.

I get so frustrated when talking about the fact I’m nonverbal and people go “well you type good so you’re fine” and that makes me so frustrated because like…typing doesn’t replace the fact I can’t speak! It doesn’t replace the fact that I’ve had hours upon hours of intensive therapies to get me to type the way I can, to express myself the way I can. And some were emotionally damaging. That doesn’t go away.
It doesn’t take away the ableism I face. Or the fact that if im trying to communicate with someone, our disabilities could collide and make it difficult to communicate. It doesn’t change that. And it doesn’t change the continued regression I am going through. It doesn’t change any of that! It doesn’t change that I’m constantly frustrated because my device is so slow compared to my thoughts. Or that other people find it very slow and get annoyed with me.
It’s honestly frustrating when people say this, because although I’m privileged to be able to type in the first place, that doesn’t change the ableism, frustrations, and therapies that I’ve gone through. I’m not “just fine” I’m constantly struggling to try and adapt to a situation and world that wasn’t meant for me. That is continuously ableist.
Im privileged, but that doesn’t mean I still don’t struggle.

Why do you think neurotypical people mistake neurodivergent people for be really sarcastic?
Possibly because we tend to be super direct whereas neurotypicals usually dance around the point a lot more. So when we say something bluntly, they get all confused because that's not how they would communicate it, so they assume sarcasm. Probably also our tone - a lot of autistic people struggle to control their tone or naturally have a 'flat-affect' which can come across as sarcastic.
It's annoying to be misinterpreted constantly, but also sometimes people think I'm being incredibly funny for stating something obvious so 🤷‍♀️
