There are no deadlines for questioning or for choosing labels. Some people take a long time, some people never fully decide.

"Omg i think i might be aro/loveless/trans/whatever but what if its just the depression!!" Girlie broski matey..... depression is not a separate being from you that you can remove with an exorcism, it literally becomes part of your brain and personality. Even if it is the depression causing your feelings (its most likely not) its not like you can just alter your entire being on a whim in order to stop being depressed

Being asexual can affect how you relate to your romantic identity or romance in general, even if you're fully alloromantic.
Being aro can affect you relate to your sexual identity or sex in general even if you're fully allosexual.
Identity is complex.

Would it be okay to post in trans tags about how much you find trans people weird, confusing, and other, but still totally support them? Of course not.
How about aromantic tags? No, that's absurd.
So why do I see so much of that in the aplatonic tags?

if you can understand that aces can have sex and aros can have romantic relationships, then you can understand that aplatonics can have friends*
*not all aplatonics want or have friends, but don't take the label to mean "no friends" automatically, same as you would with ace or aro

Ace and aro spectrum identities exist across many spectrums. Different people often relate to the same labels in different ways. It doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong or that you've made a mistake. If the label is working for you, that's what matters.

I'm late, but shoutout to loveless aces, aplatonic aces [especially aplatonic alloaces], heartless aces, afamilial aces, and any asexual that doesn't love conventionally, doesn't feel one of the "universal" loves, or feels excluded by the broader asexual conversation. You are welcome and you are appreciated.

To anybody who booped: thank you! Can't boop back from sideblogs, so any returned will be marked as from my main blog. Alas, lovelessrage cannot smack anyone into the earth with reckless abandon.

Likely meaningless update, but I had emergency surgery! So any big posts or answers to askbox messages I was working on got delayed for obvious reasons and will be shoved back while I put recovery first. If you sent me an anon or are waiting for posts, you'll be waiting a little longer on em. Oops.

Potentially dumb question but lovelessness is an unfamiliar concept to me and I'm trying to understand it better
Obviously, loveless doesn't mean you never like or have positive feelings towards anything. But what word(s) would you use in place of "love" to describe these feelings?
For example, you mentioned in past post that you don't "love" your pets, so what term would you use instead? You like them? Care about them? Are fond of them?
Not trying to start shit or anything, just curious
I tend to use care, like, or enjoy for replacement words, but more generally say specific things that describe my feelings over just one word, e.g. "they make me happy" and "they keep me calm". My dog likes when I squish his face and call him the handsomest boy there was.

It's OK to struggle with your ace/aro identity, or with self-acceptance. It's OK to have had bad experiences because of your identity and acknowledge that.
