🌤 an introduction to aspects
what are they?
aspects are connections between the planets in a birth chart or between planets and the angles or the nodal axis.
what do they mean/symbolize?
they create dynamic movement which reflects inner psychological patterns.
how do they work?
they’re based on number symbolism. aspects are formed from a specific root number in which the circle of the chart is divided by to create an angular relationship. also, each aspect has an “orb”, which means it holds true for a certain number of degrees; the tighter the orb, the more we feel it.
types of aspects:
major aspects
form the main dynamics of the chart
based on numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 6
the conjunction (root 1) - planets in conjunction form a unity; inseparable from each other, blending their energies
the opposition (root 2) - planets in opposition reflect an internal dilemma arising; might identify with one side, but project the other
the trine (root 3) - the trine creates an easy flow between planets; represents talent and things we find enjoyable
the square (root 4) - planets in square tend to be productive; can be inhibited to express our drives fully
the sextile (root 6) - with sextiles, we are motivated to put in a little work, but also feel relaxed expressing whatever is indicated by them
minor aspects
based on numbers 8, 12
the semisquare (root 8) and sesquiquadrate (root 8) - these carry a similar quality to the square, but with less intensity
the semisextile (root 12) and quincunx (root 12) - these aspects generate frustration, as they can be a blind spot or a set of skills that needs our conscious focus in order to achieve or fulfill

wonder wednesday #1
☔️ a few astrology notes
based on the people i know
virgo ascendants tend to have long, rectangular face shapes with defined cheek bones.
someone with their venus in libra—while having a few other placements in libra—sometimes have a difficult time staying in romantic relationships.
taurus moons have a MAD case of low self esteem.
when blamed for something, or when they fail/do something wrong, aries moons usually make excuses and blame unrelated things for what they did.
those with a lot of placements in the 6th house constantly desire the feeling of being at service to others, especially strangers.
those that have a stellium of libra in venus, mars, and jupiter are so amazing at sympathizing with others and helping them to feel better, however, because of their people pleasing aspects, they are very fake.
mercury in aries is a placement i never want to argue with or mess with because they are so scary.
those with an incredibly high amount of capricorn placements are very humanitarian and take care of everyone, even at the cost of all of their happiness.
those with mercury in capricorn are my FAVORITE people on the planet.

☁️ my best and worst moments with each sign
aries
best moment
in 7th grade, my guy best friend at the time comforted me at school as i cried about my favorite grunge singer dying.
worst moment
after me and my boyfriend broke up we met at a park to talk about our situation and he just made me feel terribly guilty the entire time.
taurus
best moment
when i was in 6th grade and i didn’t know anyone at my school so i went up to this girl in my class and told her my mom’s name was similar to her name because i didn’t know how to start a conversation. she was confused, but she still talked to me and we became best friends.
worst moment
this pothead girl was telling me all about how many guys she was talking to on snapchat and how she sent them her nudes.
gemini
best moment
in 8th grade, this girl in my p.e. class that i knew (but wasn’t super good friends with) was sitting out of the mile with me. i can’t even remember how we started talking about it, but she opened up to me and told me something really private. she started crying and i let her sit on my lap and i let her cry while i hugged her.
worst moment
this guy i liked that knew i liked him was walking in front of me with his friend and they turned around and when they saw me they laughed and began to talk about me.
cancer
best moment
one of my friends that i wasn’t very close with, one in which we had kind of drifted apart ran up to me when i was walking home and we had a really nice, refreshing conversation.
worst moment
my mom’s friend didn’t let her go to an amusement park with me and my other friend, even though we had planned it for a week, and her reason was because “she didn’t like last minute planning”.
leo
best moment
me and my ex-friend had a very real and open conversation about each other, our philosophies, and our dreams.
worst moment
i once spent an entire p.e. period listening to this girl talk about her sex stories with her boyfriend and i was just really uncomfortable.
virgo
best moment
my best internet friend wrote me this really long, heartfelt letter for my birthday.
worst moment
this girl that is in my friend group (but not a lot of us like her) got really over dramatic when we asked her if she had a crush and didn’t talk to us for a long time and talked bad about us.
libra
best moment
my mom brought me to a meet & greet and a concert for my favorite band even though she hates the city we had to go to to see them.
worst moment
i had to eat lunch with my friends and with this girl that i don’t like very much and she was being annoying and, she didn’t mean to, but flung ketchup in my eyes with my contacts in.
scorpio
best moment
my best friend made me playlist of songs that reminded her of me and gave me this packet that explained why for each song.
worst moment
at a sleepover me and my best friend pranked this guy and he got really mad for no reason and blocked us.
sagittarius
best moment
in one of my classes that i didn’t have any friends in, we had a project and this girl i didn’t know well (who’s now one of my best friends) offered to be my partner and sit next to her.
worst moment
i confessed to this guy that i liked him and he left me on seen.
capricorn
best moment
on the first day of school this girl talked to me and sat next to me and we ended up being partners all year and we’re now really good friends.
worst moment
my step mom once got really mad at me because i ripped up a dollar bill. she’s really scary when she’s mad.
aquarius
best moment
i met my favorite celebrity (the literal love of my life) and he held my hand and looked into my eyes and thanked me for coming and said goodbye.
worst moment
me and my old best friend got into a fight because i was jealous (it was legit all my fault) and we didn’t talk for 2 months.
pisces
best moment
one of my good friends drew me a really good piece of artwork for valentine’s day and she was the only person to get me something that year.
worst moment
my dad and i went a few months without really talking because he stopped working and providing for the family and caused a major amount of stress for my step mom.
