HIII it's a new day and I can't seem to tear the idea of Ghost ripping Price violently from his peaceful retirement in a shitty neon city out of my mind. Seedy dive bars, high-pitched sirens, and the return of that sick bastard Simon Riley, wearing that old skull mask of his, still on the fucking run after all this time.

They already solved this shit, didn't they? Dead and gone, buried under concrete and live wires. But fuck if Price isn't on the back of Ghost's motorcycle unloading metal into the skulls of cybernetic beasts and reanimated humans with bolts for joints. What the fuck is going on?

"Don't wanna ruin the surprise," Ghost says humorlessly, but they have a lot of catching up to do after all this time. And Price has some old regrets he never thought would catch up to him.

Heeyyyyy FUN FACT FROM ME AND MY FARMER FATHER to add some angst to your cowboy fic in case you didn't know!

Barn fires are always great tragic moments in fics.

And you wanna know how to get one that isn't "oops I dropped a candle" or "the horse did it" or arson?

Improper hay spontaneously combusts.

Hay that is stored still wet, not given enough time in the field to dry, can catch on fire when it starts to decompose.

Because decomposition causes heat. And it will catch, and all the hay stored will burn quick.

We know someone this happened to. They were okay of course, but damn it's awful. Especially because if the farmer baled their own hay, the guilt that comes with knowing you made such a small mistake that you thought you had accounted for.

And hay is valuable! Especially in some more rural parts of countries where people bale their own hay.

Anyway, hay science :D
