Yo! Here are some floor tiles I recently made that are inspired by REFMAP/MACK and RM2k3's RTP (same as the wall tiles that I posted recently). They're simply 16-bit tiles that have been scaled up to fit a 32x32 grid. I had RPG Maker VX/Ace's grid-size in mind when I created these. All of the floor tiles loop, of course.

You are free to use these tiles for your game(s), commercially or non-commercially, if you credit me as "Luiishu". Please, for the love of mangoes; do NOT claim my graphics as your own and do NOT go out and sell them, or something silly like that!

As always, I'd love to check out your game if you decide to use any of my resources! :)
Thank you for taking your time to read this! As you probably may have noticed, English is not my native language. If anything feels unclear or if you've got any questions; feel free to let me know!

1, 7, 12, & 21!
1. What got you into game making?
Video games and my imagination. For some reason, Iāve always enjoyed daydreaming and coming up with random worlds and characters, ever since I was a lilā bub. One day, I remember finding some tutorials on how to make a Zelda game in Game Maker. Following along with the tutorials made me realize that game development was in fact a real thing that I could learn and not just some hocus pocus-thing that only wizards could do. I did not stick with Game Maker for long, mainly because I couldnāt create my own graphics. I didnāt want to create a text-based game. The rest is basically history after I found out about RPG Maker VX; an engine that comes with its own set of assets.
7. What do you focus on most when you make a game? (eg. gameplay, graphics, music...)
It depends on what stage I am in development. I usually like to focus on one thing at the time since I tend to get overwhelmed and unproductive when I try to do too many things at once. For my current game, Iām trying to get all of the assets (graphics, music and scripts) finished before I start putting everything together in the engine. This is also one of the main reasons why I tend to be pretty quiet about my projects in their early stages. xD
12.Whatās the most important aspect of your game (e.g. gameplay, battle system, story)?
I usually try to have it so that the story and gameplay are connected and not treated as two different things. They should basically be two sides of the same coin. However, I do try to emphasize the GAME part in video game. If a game is not fun to actually play; if itās just about telling a story, then I think itās generally best to choose another form of medium to express yourself. I think that gameplay is absolutely crucial and that the story/plot should be used to enhance it.
21. What kind of games do you play in your spare time?
I donāt really play games that much nowadays, since they remind me that I have my own game(s) that I need to work on. Dx
However, when I do play games, itās usually a pretty mixed bag. I mostly enjoy Zelda games, Mario Kart, Smash, JRPGs and Action/Platformer (DMC, Castlevania) games.Ā
Thank you kindly for the ask, @pinkuboa!

8. What's your favorite part of game development? Least favorite part of game development?
I really enjoy the coming-up-with-stuff phase a lot. Level design is also very close to my heart. Two recent additions are creating tiles and composing music.
Animating stuff is probably my least favorite thing. This is probably because I have no idea how I should go about learning animation. Itās still a mystery to me.
Thank you kindly for the ask, @kalanken!

9, 12, 13 and 14!
9. What have been some of your biggest obstacles working on the game so far?
Sprite animation, designing non-combat gameplay (and making it engaging) and piecing together the plot.
12.What's the most important aspect of your game (e.g. gameplay, battle system, story)?
I usually try to have it so that the story and gameplay are connected and not treated as two different things. They should basically be two sides of the same coin. However, I do try to emphasize theĀ GAME partĀ in video game. If a game is not fun to actually play; if itās just about telling a story, then I think itās generally best to choose another form of medium to express yourself. I think that gameplay is absolutely crucial and that the story/plot should be used to enhance it.
13. What are some goals you have for the game?
For starters, Iād like to explore the Adventure Game genre and come up with ways to engage the player without the use of combat. Itās pretty much impossible to be 100% original today, but Iād at least like to make something that feels somewhat fresh and creative. I want the gameās texture to feel unique.
Secondly, Iād like to go pretty wild with my game and follow my imaginations and dreams; wherever they will take me. Itās kind of a spiritual journey for me, I guess. This is why Iāve decided to create my own graphics and compose my own music. I want the game to represent my soul in a way.
Lastly, Iād love to create something Lynch-inspired again. I want my game to be like a mystery thatās open for interpretation. I donāt want to set everything in stone. I want to make people think about the little things.
14. What do you want to avoid in your game? (boring plot, bad gameplay, wonky controls, etc.)
All of those things and hard definitions; I want to leave things open for the playerās imagination.
Thank you kindly for the ask, @pollinatorgator!

How do you pick your palettes bruh they're so neat
I basically try to find smaller palettes because I like working within limitations. Palettes with unusual color choices interest me as well.

This looks spoopy.
Welcome to The Bridged Woods, an rpg horror game inspired by found footage horror movies such as The Blair Witch Project, Grave Encounters and Cloverfield. The estimated release date is late 2017.
For many years, people have avoided the Bridged Woods because of itās backstory and rumours of it being haunted. During the first world war, a group of soldiers took shelter within the woods, however one of them was a spy, and killed the rest. It is said that the spirit of the spy now haunts the forest and takes away anyone who dares to enter.
So, when four highschool friends travel to the woods to record a documentary, they are greeted by more than they bargained for.
The Bridged Woods is a horror rpg inspired by found footage horror movies such as The Blair Witch Project, Grave Encounters and Cloverfield. It follows most found footage tropes, so donāt expect an amazing story or anything, itās mainly an experimental project to see how a found footage rpg horror game could be played. There isnāt a lot of gameplay, itās mainly dialogue based.
Estimated Length: 1 ~ 1.5 hours
I made this blog mainly to encourage myself to work on the project by sharing daily progress updates.
