That lasted about 3 years and then I stopped LOL but it’s my 10 year death note anniversary so I figured this would be fun

Misa lives with her gorgeous tall lesbian roommate rem (who is not in animation but rather photography along with ryuk (I’m thinkin cause shinigami sorta watch things + how they play out kinda like wildlife photography or something lol)) who is also goth alt and rem is in loooooooveeee with her but misa keeps bringing over (“homework help”) this dumb fucking guy (light) who doesn’t even like her and rem is like begging her to realize at least a little bit of her own worth but sadly so far to no avail (but as long as misa is happy rem is happy so 😪 but perhaps one day she will come to her senses but for now rem pines and yearns)

The way misa finds out light’s the owner of The problematic secret twitter is that she happened to look over his shoulder while he was drafting a post while sitting on a bench and talking to ryuk and not paying attention or something on campus one day LOL basically the arrangement is as long as he comes over when she wants help with school things neither she nor rem will tell anyone about him being the owner of the account but at the same time misa is in a questionable place amongst all this too because her clown ass has been running of all things a stan acc FOR this stupid little callout acc light has and for like a while now so currently in the back of his mind he’s trying to figure out how he can flip this around on her.

Shes’s also not in the same classes as L and Light (well same classes but scheduled at different times cause she’s in a different cohort for the year) and so the way the two of them are suddenly hanging out despite having never really met properly + having the totally different schedule piques L’s interest and he’s like ok this is strange. Why are they doing that I was under the impression light didn’t even like girls Also via being in a different class schedule she’s in a different group film group but ALWAYS migrates over to light’s group whenever they’re trying to get work done in labs and her group members all want to strangle both of them for it. This is all so far 🙏🙏

Rewatching death note after TEN YEARS with some friends and we are horribly susceptible to theorizing animation student au headcanons for like every piece of media that has our attention so here’s their meet the artists with some stats :3 ridiculously self-indulgent + catered to our own personal experiences of being in cartoon school. How fleshed out is this??? Not very. But it’s fun (tried drawing them kinda sorta how they’d maybe draw if they were actually like people) (I’d love to put the music they listen to and movies they like but tbh idk light especially does not strike me as someone who listens to music for fun so they’re a bit minimal). Also thing to note I know the personality-database site says light is an entj instead of i which while it makes sense we motioned that he’s a bit more meticulous and while of course he can do social situations he doesn’t seek them out per se nor get fulfilment from them BUT BOTH TYPES ARE STILL GOOD

Now you may be asking how does the actual plot of death note translate into this. Well you see they are in their 3rd year ryuk is light’s goth alt roommate who shows him this cool site called twitter dot com and light IMMEDIATELY starts anonymously cyberbullying people notably school peers and it gets so bad the faculty has to get involved and they also need to bring in this mysterious transfer student from England who gets put into the same 3rd year film group as light to further investigate suspicions and also has a twitter handle/acc that has been actively challenging light’s + has like a gazillion followers. Also yeah they fall in love and stuff
