Amity being protective of Luz.

1. Lost in Language.

Even though the misunderstanding and conflict between the two haven't been solved, Amity still faces danger from Otabin to save Luz.

2. Understanding Willow.

Amity catches up on inner Willow's presence and quickly takes Luz to a hiding place and shield her.

3. Enchanting Grom's Fright.

Despite being fear of Grom as well, Amity still jumps right in front of Grom to protect Luz. Not related but she has me laughing when she jumps down from the tree.

4. Wing It Like Witches.

During the Grudgeby match, Amity has saved Luz from the attack twice, and broke her leg in the second time.

5. Escaping Expulsion.

Of course we can't forget this epic episode. Amity stands up to her parents to protect Luz and others. "Stay away from my Luz" is my favorite line.

6. Follies in the Coven Day Parade.

Amity quickly stops Terra's plant from hurting Luz in the nick of time.

7. King's Tide.

I love how gentle Amity's hand on Luz's head is when she saves Luz from being hit by the rock.

8. Thanks to Them.

Despite being attacked and falling on the ground, Amity still tries to save Luz by using the mud that she isn't familiar with.

9. For the Future.

Lastly, Amity helps Luz get out of the In-Between Realm. She's such an attentive, protective and caring girlfriend.

So, Luz and Amity definitely check out Little Witch Academia. Amity of course is annoyed that Akko and Diana's relationship is more subtextual.

So when Luz and Amity have their first date, I imagine Luz just losing nerve for the moment and call Amity punctual before saying beautiful. Yes, a callback to Aladdin (1992). Only Amity might actually take it as a compliment.😁

A personal Lumity headcanon: throught the timeskip, swimming has become one of the favorite things Luz and Amity love doing together. Amity wasn't originally fond on swimming despite learning when she was a kid (see Understanding Willow), and she didn't have much trust in her on that, but ever since she swam with Luz in the human realm she realized how much she loves it, and ever since she and Luz started doing it together a lot in their freetime, especially in the summer.

I love this headcanon. We see in one photo in which Luz and Amity go swimming together in Willow's scrapbook. It can be a great time for them to bond. I also think Amity had difficulty swimming because she skipped swimming classes when she was a kid with Willow and she wore a float. (Also I'm projecting myself on her 😃). Yes, Luz will help her and help her feel more comfortable.

A Hunter and Lumity headcanon, sort of. During the time when the Hexside Squad are in the Human Realm, Hunter and Amity get a chance to bond, and the former says "You have my blessing to date my sister". Of course, Amity knows that Hunter is just caught up in the friendly moment and "thanks" him for approval.😅

Lol 😂. It's a bit confusing when Luz and Amity have already dated before they even get close to Hunter, but cool headcanon.

Okay, a take relating to Amity letting Camila ride on her staff in For the Future. Nothing complex, just that Mrs. Noceda is reassuring Amity that her flying was good, she's just not use to such transportation.

Our young witch responds with, "So I can still have Luz's hand in marriage." Then says to forget she asked that.🥰🤣

Amity is so cute and silly. I like how she tries to impress Camila in an awkward but endearing way. (She gives Camila a tea cup with the tea bag outside of the cup).

Luz being protective of Amity.

Despite the initial conflict and misunderstanding with Amity, Luz still bravely faces Otabin to save her.

Luz is willing to take Amity's place as the Grom Queen after knowing about Amity's fear. Despite warnings about Grom's danger, Luz still goes through with the it.

3. Follies at the Coven Day Parade

Before Kikimora can launch an attack on them, Luz quickly uses the invisible glyph to save both of them.

4. King's Tide.

Luz is there to catch Amity when Belos attacks her. Even though Luz herself is also injured, she still shields Amity from Belos's upcoming attack.

5. For the Future.

Luz shields Amity again from the Collector's magic. She's really Amity's fearless champion.

Stringbean with Luz and Amity.

Stringbean is my second favorite Palisman. She's so cute and supportive. She's always there for Luz during the nightmare and the toughest battles.

I love how after hatching, besides Luz, Stringbean greets Amity by nuzzling her.

What if: Before dating, Amity is unsure of her feelings towards Luz and she isn't planning to ask Luz out?

I have this funny interpretation and I want to tell more about it.

First, many first think Amity likes Luz since Enchanting Grom Fright. I do like that idea but in another perspective, asking someone out to Grom isn't necessarily romantic, people can go alone or with friends, not just with romantic partners. In my opinion, the reason why Amity wants to ask Luz out for Grom is because Luz is the closest friend she has at that time. She has just made amends with Willow, due to their history, they still need time to patch up. She isn't close to Gus. Also, Gus is Willow's best friend and he may feel uncomfortable with her for how she used to treat Willow. Needless to say about Boscha and other friends in the group.

Amity's fear of rejection isn't about being friendzoned or being in a one-sided relationship. Luz is the first and only one who sees Amity at her worst but still shows her kindness and forgiveness. That's why Amity is scared of being rejected by Luz. It means losing the only one who understands her and cares for her unconditionally. Being rejected by Luz is like being rejected by everyone, cause Luz is the most lenient person towards Amity. Being rejected by Luz also reminds Amity of her self-hatred. Amity used to be a mean person, and she's trying to change and make up for everything. Being rejected by the first one to acknowledge her change is like saying that deep down, no matter how much she changes, she'll always be the mean, uptight and cold person before.

Amity looks utterly happy when Luz asks her to go to Grom as friends only. Soft smile and sparkling eyes. In season 1, the characters' eyes are rarely drawn with the sparks like in season 2. Being friends with Luz is more than enough for Amity. Possibly, I think Amity plans to go to Grom with Luz as friends, but she's afraid to ask her.

Secondly, Luz is canonically Amity's first love so it's overwhelming for her. In Through the Looking Glass Ruins, in this scene, Amity isn't telling Luz off, more like she's telling herself off. “Ever since you came here, things have changed. Being around you makes me do stupid things and I wish I didn't.” Amity is being harsh on herself for how she acts around Luz. Luz is not the problem, but Amity is. She doesn't understand why she acts so differently with Luz, unlike with other people. This is proved further during her conversation with Emira.

“Ever since Luz came here, things have gotten confusing. I'm feeling things I never thought before, I'm feeling things I never used to feel.”

On top of that, Amity doesn't notice how Luz blushes a lot around her. It's obvious in Through the Looking Glass ruins. Even Edric and Emira catch up on how silent Luz suddenly becomes while blushing, so they make an excuse to leave and give the two girls time alone.

Thirdly, even after Amity realizes that she likes Luz, she doesn't ask her out. After Amity kisses Luz's cheek, Amity gets nervous and quickly avoids her, even questions her own impulsiveness. "Why did I do that?". If Amity really wanted to take the friendship with Luz further, she would have confessed to Luz and asked her out right after that scene. Because looking at Luz's face, a surprised expression but with widened and sparkling brown irises. Luz doesn't show any signs of discomfort or rejection. She is just surprised, she doesn't even say anything to reject Amity. That may be the first green light from Luz.

And after that day, Amity has been absent from school to avoid seeing Luz.

When they meet in the basement again, Amity tells Luz to forget that she kissed her cheek. This is a perfect opportunity to confess her love, but Amity tells Luz to forget the kiss instead. She even walks away and keeps distance from Luz.

In the Tunnel of Love, Amity thinks that Luz doesn't want to ask her out. Luz never explicitly says that she doesn't want to. In fact, she does, but not in a cheesy way. Amity just accepts Luz's rejection that she assumes in her mind. She doesn't ask directly why and doesn't insist Luz on giving her a chance. She just accepts and leaves.

After hearing Luz explain the whole situation and knowing that Luz feels the same, Amity finally has the courage to ask her out first. Still, It's interesting that even though Luz realizes her feelings later than Amity, Luz quickly plans to ask Amity out after the cheek kiss.

LUMITY AND THE GROM TREE.

The Grom tree is made from Luz and Amity's magic combination.

The stages of the tree are the same as the stages of their relationship.

The Grom tree in the Grom episode is the similar to Luz and Amity's crushing stage. It's blooming, new and exciting with vibrant color.

Meanwhile, the Grom tree in Reaching Out looks much gloomier. The tree also sheds more leaves, making the branches look a bit empty. This is the stage in which Luz and Amity encounter another bump in their relationship.

Luz helps Amity in the Grom episode, and Amity offers her help in Reaching Out. It all comes full circle.

The tree will shed its leaves then bloom again, just like how Luz and Amity will overcome any obstacles in their relationship to make their love stronger.
